As a dbz fan, the creators say that they don't think there abridged is better than dbz. I mean both are good for sure but the fact that you have a very small subsect of fans watching the parody saying it's better than the show is always crazy to me. It's the vocal minority facts, but dbz abridged is great, basically the people saying the abridged is better aren't people who watch dbz for the most part, they were kids at the time when the abridge version came out and grew up with it usually never watching the original. Abridged is amazing, no hate to it.
