  1. Batman knowledge? You know it’s gotta be Batman the brave and the bold baby!

The dark knight movies are popular but they also are very…. Right wing… And strangely biased. The 90s cartoon is pretty good too. Overrated but not bad. Beware the Batman and The Batman(2003) are both fun but they’re the types you need to know the basic formula for to appreciate.

Young justice after this show would be in you guys’ interest for sure but honestly

The new Batman movie with Pattinson is a perfect newbie starting point! Hope I didn’t just answer a rhetorical question on mistake.

  2. Man the Batman slander going on in this video. Bruce absolutely uses his money and company to better Gotham. The city is just perpetually corrupt, and not everything can be solved with money and politics. Seriously, watch the Batman animated series. It’s really damn good.

  3. You guys want good Batman media? Then you should absolutely just go through the whole DC Animated Universe if you want a great Batman, and also just some awesome shows and movies to watch.
-Batman The Animated Series/The New Batman Adventures (The last season of the show rebranded as it had some pretty notable character redesigns.)
-Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (Movie)
-Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman (Movie)
    -Batman: Mr. Freeze Subzero (Movie)
    -Superman the Animated Series
    -Batman Beyond
-Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (Movie)
    -Justice League
    -Justice League Unlimited.

If you end up watching these shows, I’d recommend using this order or something along the lines, even if Beyond comes after the JL shows, some stuff from Beyond is spoiled by the JL shows. Especially the final episode of Unlimited which was used to conclude Batman Beyond in a BIG way, as Beyond sadly didn’t get to reach a season finale for season 3, but not for lack of quality S3 is still great.

It may seem like alot, but it’s an amazing ride especially come time for the Justice League shows. Season 2 of JL and JLU’s story is some of the best animated DC media I’ve ever seen. Again I know it seems alot to go through, but genuinely it is a BLAST.

(Sorry for the long comment, I’m just a huge Batman nerd and the DCAU is such a great place to see some amazing Batman stories.)

    1. Also just wanna say I ain’t tryna force or demand yall watch any of this, if you don’t wanna that’s totally fine. Just wanted to lay everything on the table so you’d know what you’d be getting into if you did. Again though, totally up to you guys.

  4. You guys should check out some of the dc animated movies Batman year one, Batman Under The Red Hood, Justice League Crisis on Two Earths, and probably the best Batman movie ever made Batman Mask of the Phantasm

  5. Batman’s whole reason for fighting crime is because his parents were killed after being mugged in an alley, and he refuses to kill even the worst villains because he thinks it will make him no better than them or something even though letting them go to Arkham just to get released eventually to go back out and probably kill more people.

  6. I recommend checking the Batman: Animated series and the Superman: Animated series because there is some crossover, but then definitely check out the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited series.

  7. (no context spoiling) but lets just say slade…. has a history of some…. unhealthy obsessions with people not of age and is most likely part of why he had such a fixation on robin as well, this is mostly comic stuff because ofc they arent gonna say stuff like that on a network airing but yeah… slade has some more than questionable things hes done in the comics

  8. Just so you are aware Batman has had multiple Robin sidekicks in his life and this one is actually the one he adopted as a son Dick Grayson. When Robin says he already has a father he is in fact talking about Batman. Now I do know at some point this Robin and Batman had a disagreement and a big fight and went there separate ways but I don’t know when that occurs. It may explain why Robin is leading his own team though.

    1. I’m pretty sure this doesn’t translate to the cartoon at all so it won’t spoil anyone, but some of the context of Dick Grayson’s disagreement with Batman in the post crisis late 80s comics has to do with the fact that Batman told him it was too dangerous/risky to be his apprentice then took on Jason Todd as Robin soon after. There are also some other reasons but ngl I havent read a lot of early 80s batman.

  9. If you guys are looking for movies i’m so down to see you guys react to the 80s/90s batman movies!!!! The dark knight trilogy is great too, but I also think The Batman (2022) works as a starting point if you don’t want to watch a whole trilogy of movies.

  10. Batman The Animated Series is definitely the way to go if you’re looking for some pure, Batman goodness. I’d also recommend Young Justice if you want to be exposed to the larger DC universe, plus it’s just a damn good show on its own.

    1. Or go back even further and watch Justice League Unlimited. I think that was my introduction to a great bulk of the DC universe and I have fond memories of it! ?

      1. That one’s a banger too, but then they’d have to watch Superman and the og Justice League too. (Not that that’s a bad thing, it’s just a lot of shows to commit too). With Young Justice, they can go straight up to it, and it’s newer too, so they can get an idea of what modern DC is like. Either way, all of these are peak animation, so I’m down for any of them.

        1. True. Though, I never actually saw the og Justice League or Superman. I saw Batman the Animated Series ofc, so that was good enough for kid me! You’re right though, any of those DC shows are good!
The new Adventures of Superman on Max is also a goodie (wink-nudge-cough) ?

    2. Batman The Animated series is perfect for them in my opinion, it has so much Batman lore that makes exploring the Animated universe so much easier. Plus the very first Harley Quinn appearance EVER. So iconic. Young Justice has really great moments and awesome characters but it’s not in my personal favs tbh.

  11. I don’t think a lot of the history of the origin of the show and comics have been explained yet, but Teen Titans (2003) is specifically based on The New Teen Titans (1980) comic book run. Which was actually one of the most succesful comic books runs of the decade. It was created with a combination of pre-established teen sidekicks such as Robin, Beast Boy, Kid Flash, and Wonder Girl and original characters such as Raven, Starfire, and Cyborg. This run is actually where Deathstroke the Terminator was created, more well known as Deathstroke now. However, the character has become so popular outside of the Teen Titans since then that he has appeared in many DC properties. The cartoon changed his name to his actual name and not his alias because they were afraid that Deathstroke was too scary for young children.

    1. We know it’s Deathstroke the character. Our conversation was based around whether or not it actually was Slade Wilson or not. As in, is Bruce Wayne actually dressed as Deathstroke to test Robin

    2. This is actually not true. Deathstroke’s origin is actually in The New Teen Titans comic book run from the 80s not from Batman. They changed his name because they thought Deathstroke was too scary of a name for young children.

  12. Actually, you did watch episodes 1 and 3 out of order as well. I THINK the rest of the seasons should be fine, but yeah, probably best to double-check.

  13. I checked the wiki. Pretty sure all the Japanese version of the opening are in these following episodes:
Nevermore, Deep Six, Mad Mod, Date with Destiny*, Winner Take All, Fractured*, Crash, Revolution, Can I Keep Him, Bunny Raven, Don’t Touch That Dial, Employee of the Month, Stranded, For Real, Hide and Seek, and Revved Up.

And I think “Fractured” in Season 2 has a special intro? So, so long as yall check out one of those, I think the Billies will be satiated. ?

    1. Batman The Animated Series is definitely the way to go if you’re looking for some peak, Batman goodness. I’d also recommend Young Justice if you want to be exposed to the larger DC universe, not to mention that it’s just a damn good show on its own.

  14. The series alternates between English and Japanese openings. The Japanese version is so good it should be listened to. But I’m okay with skipping cus the Japanese opening is for non serious episodes so I feel like it’d be a little spoilery in that way. I love Puffy AmiYumi as a kid and I’m pretty sure they did all the music in this series like that song that played during the Mad Mod chase. Id love to see you guys include a reaction to the music video at some point so you can hear the full theme

  15. There are 5 seasons and a movie and I’m excited to see you react to the rest of it! I know some people were saying only a few episodes were really iconic, but I genuinely loved this show so much growing up and every episode I’ve rewatched with you guys I remember vividly. It’s a great show!

  16. The brief wonder of Slade’s weird obsession with Robin… Could be awkward to bring up but in the comics Slade has been known to fancy those below the appropriate age range, aka he’s been portrayed as a pedophile. So that IS probably a factor in why he’s being so creepy, but in a more ‘we can’t outright talk about it or say it’ way.

Now I never have actually seen this show but my friend is a big fan so I’ve heard second hand about Slade and Robin’s interactions from her, and boy wow… weren’t kidding that guys a major weirdo. Good villain though!

  17. No the intros are diffrent depending on episode. Their are 2 diffrent intros that rotate depending on episode content and their are a few that change things depending on the episode.
