I do wonder just what it is that the Kindergarten did to render the area so desolate and if there might be someway to reclaim the land eventually. Even if it sucked any kind of nutrient out of the area, you should be able to reintroduce those, it just might take a while.
For steven universe games I highly recommend the light trilogy (attack the light, Save the light, and unleash the light). They’re all cannon and 2 and 3 are both really good.
