I’ve basically rewatched the whole show with these reactions and there are so many hints that Pearl was pink diamonds pearl, even from the early episodes. I can’t believe how quickly they caught on though, even if not all their theories were correct they were pretty on the money about a lot of things. I love watching people watch this episode because it gives me a ratatouille flashback to when I first lost my mind over this episode lol.
Two moments from past episodes that gain extra significance are:
– early on, Pearl insisting that she was the one that Rose had no secrets from.
– when Greg in a flashback yells to Rose to talk to him like a real person, Rose saying “…I’m not a real person”
This scene with pink diamond alone. Giving up everything so that the crystal gems and earth can live proves that she was not intentionally evil or bad as everyone in the show, and some fans, treat her. She was a dumb kid who made mistakes and grew up to become Rose
Lapis’ song is one of my favorites, very emotional and makes me feel some kind of way that I can’t entirely describe. I always love to see ya’ll’s reactions through all these series, stay awesome!

I picked up on the possibility of Steven’s/Rose’s Gem being the top view of Pink Diamonds way back in the series even when other people I knew didn’t quite see it as a possibility.
Been so excited for this! I’ve been on the Rose is Pink Diamond theory train SINCE SEASON 1, and my alternative theory that came about later was Pearl shattered Pink Diamond. I STILL can’t get over that I was right about those two things, and had no idea both of them would be true. Truly insane times in the fandom.

Credit to where credit is due, I think it was Boom who called Rose is Pink Diamond first (though I feel like Ruff agreed pretty quickly that it would make sense), and fascinatingly early. Hman doubted it earlier, and looked incredulous that was actually happening during the reveal this episode ?
THIS! Is the episode I’ve waited for most. Especially ever since Boom casually threw out the idea. So glad yall were hyped for it. Also, coincidentally, I love how the last thing said in the video actually kind of works when it loops to the beginning.

Ah there it is, the episode where everything changes. So great on rewatch, 5 years since these episodes aired. Crazy times, now perfectly theres 8 episodes left. Are we gonna end the first series next week, do the movie at the end of the month and start future at the beginning of next month? Idk what you guys will decide on but im fucking pumped for y’all to experience this. Great reaction boys, keep up the great work.

Dw, we know you didnt prewatch: the show purposefully puts the idea that Rose is PD, and then gives you bits of misinformation based on the lies she told over the years so you doubt yourself. An amazing reveal. I always think the “I knew it!” feeling when a plot twist comes is way better than never seeing it coming.
Yes, this was the reaction I’ve been waiting for! This really explains a lot of Pearl’s behavior and the fact that although she rebelled for “to be free”, she was really doing it for her diamond. Further, Pearl has lived thousands of years under Pink Diamond’s “command” to not say anything and keep all of PD/Rose’s secrets, while PD/Rose made Pearl feel as though she was so special in that Pearl was the only one who knew the real PD/Rose and all her secrets. It really made Pearl a mess without Pearl realizing it until the events of the show since PD aka Rose was now gone.
YEEESS! THE SU episode I’ve been looking forward to since episode one! The rest after 18 are great, too, but 18 had the biggest gut punch ever (up to that point). I was originally peeved to see what the truth was, but I got over it really fast–I really like it now. I also loved seeing the guys so pumped to see what happened as well. Really glad I can run over to 19 and 20 to watch the aftermath. 🙂
