I wouldn't call this the greatest of all time, but it is very good.
I love the expression on Stoick's face after he leaves the house after telling Hiccup "You're not my son" line. You can see the instant regret wash over him. He knows he shouldn't have said that and that those could very well be his last words to his son, but he also can't bring himself to talk to Hiccup anymore in the state that he's in. Such amazing animation.
I watched this a few times when I was a kid and thought, yeah that was good and moved over, not thinking much of it. But watching it now, as an adult, such a different experience, literally makes it so much better than I originally thought. Glad I got to watch it again with you guys!
Please react to the animated shows
I agree that you guys should watch the series if you ever get around to it, its such a fun and interesting look at this trilogy
Toothless was modeled after one of the creators cats, when you said dog I wanted to correct you guys so bad haha
How to Train your Dragon is actually based on a book. I read it as a kid, and was kind of upset when I saw the trailer for the first one. They 100% changed the premise, but in my opinion, they improved upon what was there and made one of the best, heartwarming trilogies in animation history.
If you ever want to know the full story, you need to watch the Cartoon Network shows Riders of Berk and Defenders of Berk, respectively. These two shows start right after the first movie. The Netflix show, Race to the Edge, takes place after the end of Defenders of Berk and ends before the second How to Train Your Dragon movie. I would LOVE to see you guys watch these shows!
This movie is SUCH a huge part of my childhood that hearing the opening music for the first time in years actually made me tear up a bit because it brings me back to that time, I think that FEELING people got while watching it along with the memories associated with that time are why it’s such a highly regarded movie today
Also hearing about them making another one is amazing, I’m going to be taking my nephew in theaters
The Netflix TV series based on these movies would be a great reaction, it retains alot of the comedy and some same voice cast.
They should watch the series.
It's a great series, I'd honestly love it if they were to ever react to it.
