NGL, I know the tea party has its fans, but it's wildly difficult to watch. It is literally Neo bullying a child into self harm, AND she murders Little. In my opinion she's totally irredeemable after that, I just can't stand her character anymore.

Thats just the rotten cherry on top lol. Feel like this whole volume was a lazy retcon, instead of growth ~magical tree~ and nothing advancing the plot

then you completely misunderstood what happened this volume. they didn't just snap their fingers and say eh magic tree fix these people, ruby had to work through her issues in real time. yang and black finally voiced their feelings in real time, and weiss already had her development before this volume

My favorite thing about illusion powered characters is their ability to manipulate. If you notice, with exception of Torchwick the dead people didn’t say much in terms of their history with Ruby. Everything was said in broad strokes public information. Like with Penny where she said, “I died didn’t I?” Neo has no idea of penny is alive or not but given how Ruby has been acting you can only assume she died and that Penny is a sore spot.

As someone whose watched all your reactions to these as they came out, I was hoping when we got to this point there’d be some new news about what’s happening with volume 10. All I’ve heard is they’ve been writing it but haven’t been green lit for production. It could still be years before volume 10 at this point 😭

The Tea Party is honestly Peak RWBY in my opinion
Ruby is brought to her lowest point- it was a VERY LONG TIME coming after how she let all her trauma since the Vital festival pile up and Penny's Death was her breaking point...
They really played the long game with Neo as a villain as when they first introduced her in Volume 2 i knew they weren't using her to her full potential so when she wasn't used in volumes 4 or 5 I was very worried only for 6 to let me breath a sigh of relief when she showed up.
As a writer everything about this moment hit just right- it was perfectly executed leading into the final act of this volume's story for the characters and I love everything about how it brought Neo and Ruby's arcs together for their inevitable clash in what is in my opinion PEAK RWBY!

ah, these last 4 eps are my favorite RWBY eps, Ruby having a proper breakdown after having to be the one in charge, living by ozpins words from volume 1 until now, never letting herself really feel her own emotions. then all her trauma, well most of her trauma being thrown in her face, good thing Salem never talked to neo about Rubys mom, cause oh boy that would have been rough.

So something to add to Ruby basically committing magical suicide, when WBY+Jaune arrived and Ruby looked at them, she probably thought they were more of Neo’s illusions to taunt her to drink the tea.

There’s also an an animatic of what was originally going to be the 12 episode of the Volume before they had to cut it down to 10, it is essentially an extra episode so it’s highly recommended you react to that. There also 4 shorts collectively called RWBY Beyond that take place after the volume. And as others have said there’s also Chibi which is a lot of fun.
