Might as well throw in a rec for Avenger's Earths Mightiest Heroes, not gonna be as hype and tight as 97' seems to be but its the best adaption of the Avengers. MCU stuff is great and all but that show actually was an adaption instead of a reinterpretation

Ya know what is funny right after I watched your reactions to episode 2 Nathan Summer’s name sounded familiar and so I looked it up (found out who he is but I don’t want to spoil it) and then I got confused as to why his mother’s name isn’t Jean Grey instead it was Madeleine Prior, so for the next hour I was reading pretty much the whole story of Madeleine Prior on the Marvel fandom wiki and little did I know that episode 3 was gonna focus on that story.

I really hope you guys watch the justice league animated series, and justice league unlimited. It's been a while since I re-watched them but they have some classic moments and I'm pretty sure it still stands up today.

Give the Hulk vs Thor or Hulk vs Wolverine animated movies a try if you want something Marvel related that's short and serious/ dark.

so, if you want more of this specific era of the x-men and to see where the story this show is adapting are from I highly recommend Chris Claremont's run on X-Men. you can find trades for a lot of his arcs and stories. for specifics, this episode is based off of X-Men Inferno while the Storm story this season is based off of LifeDeath. If you want to get into current x-men stuff then you are in a surprising amount of luck because a massive relaunch is happening this Summer after the finale to the roughly 4 year long Krakoa saga which while great is kinda hard to just jump into(if you want to get into that buy the HoX/PoX trade). if you want other marvel comic recs just say a character, genre or vibe and I can give some. Current Miles Spider-Man run is thematically inspired by Shoenen Jump manga if you want that feel for example.

And if you want something in-between, Astonishing X-Men was my entry into comics, and I remember it being great. (Even though I am pretty sure Josh Whedon turned out to be a sucky dude a few years back. Comics were still good and they did that voice-over sort of animation sort of not thing with it.)
