  1. 32:55 unfortunately we live in a world where it’s not horrific to everyone no matter what. We’d like to think everyone would be horrified by it but the amount of atrocities committed in, for example, middle eastern countries yet people still don’t care because they’re racist or Islamophobic is very disheartening.

  2. just so you have another funny mutant name to laugh at alongside Eric Magneto. the guy who looked like he was made of jelly and bones is named Glob Herman.

  3. In one episode they reestablished the threat of Sentinels for people used to the 97 show where they weren’t allowed to actually kill people

  4. I’m trying to think of crash courses to suggest in order to study up on the X-Men. Like NONE of the movies are perfect reps for comic lore or anything, but X-Men First Class (movie) could help with the Magneto and Charles lore? X-Men Evolution (show) was my first intro into X-Men as characters (but doesn’t follow a lot of lore since they aged them all down). I’m sure the original X-Men 97 show is helpful.
Astonishing X-Men was my first comic series. You kind of just get attached to a specific character or three and then rabbit hole down 60 years worth of alternate universes, spin offs, and stories and pick up the gist of everyone as you go. LOL

  5. I don’t know much about X-Men comics but I do know that if there’s fixed points in Marvel, The Genosha Genocide is definitely one of them. Through fandom osmosis I know this event kickstarted a new era for comics mythos from the early 2000s to now. I don’t think this can be walked back in anyway😭😭😭

  6. the guy you thought was wolverine is a man named Sebastian Shaw. I could explain his powers or backstory but I think the best way to describe him is with a quote of his from immortal x-men #6 when a god judged him as a bad person and he yelled at where that god once stood, “I gave my fealty to hell a long time ago. when my time comes to burn, I will do so with a smile on my face! with a cognac in my hand and a fat roll in my pocket! do you hear me? I will burn and I care not one fig for your judgement!”. that is Shaw, a man who burned his first million on his father’s grave all in the name of hellfire before making 20 more.

  7. Anyone who reads X-Men heard “Genosha” and knew what was coming. We didn’t know it was coming this soon though. Individual deaths might be undone, it’s comics. But the Genosha genocide? That will stick. 16,000,000 mutants dead in the comics, though the number likely won’t be as high here. And if you look close, at 20:40 you’ll see the Watcher. He doesn’t show up for things that unhappen.
