the idea of more mutants and less non mutants also plays into the deranged way white supremacists see whiteness, because any child of race mixing is non white, white people become an ever shrinking portion of the population just by definition, and supremacists are deranged and paranoid with no understanding of basic math

Yeah I knew what mutants were supposed to symbolize, but that guy was screaming "Great Replacement Theorist". It's so crazy how so many right wingers may love X-Men movies, but that analogy will fly way above their heads.

"mutants are too dangerous and violent, just look at how they tore apart those machines designed to protect us and even the playing field" when talking about sentinels designed to genocide mutants is totally an argument real world conservatives would make

I would honestly love to see you guys react to the original show. The first 2 seasons are 13 episodes each. Season 3 has 19 episodes. Season 4 has 21 episodes and season 5 has 10 episodes.

On the Superman thing you mentioned:

Superman is the mask that Clark Kent wears.

Clark is the real personality, Superman is just an act to boost his confidence while saving the world.

Yes. Although if you wanna get real specific, neither persona is the real version of either character. But the real Clark Kent is closer to Clark Kent than Superman and the real Batman is closer to Baman tthan Bruce Wayne.

so one thing that wasn't clearly mentioned and if you don't know about Magneto it helps to inform his character Magneto is a holocaust survivor so he already knows what its like for his people to be exterminated for being different

Yeah not sure if they knew that or not. Didn’t want to reveal it myself, in case the show brings it up.

Charles wasn't dead-dead though, right? It has been many a year since I watched this, but I remember him having to go into space with Lilandra forever to save his life? I have consumed A LOT of X-Men in my time though, so it's possible I am mixing memories.

Morph is entirely unrelated to Mystique, though his powers are similar. He is a shapeshifter with low to mid level telepathy who can turn into other people. His shapeshifting isn't as broad or flexible as Mystique's, but unlike Mystique if the person he's shifting into has a power derived from the physical properties of their body, he can mimic it to a degree. He was in the original show, but was "killed" in the first episode only to be found in the final or second to final season.

Maybe they should have made it extra clear that Xavier was assassinated with a longer first two sentences lol

Basically the original show and '97 episodes are all based on comics storylines. But the cast of the show is not always the same as who was in the comic, hence the adaptations. But I'm pretty sure every important episode of the original and new show are based on comics.
