    Okay, I’m getting a bit tired of this “the Jedi left Anakin’s mom in slavery” crap.  It’s way more complicated than that.Anakin’s mom was a slave in Hutt-space, where the Jedi and the republic have no jurisdiction.  The only options are;

    - Breaking Shmi by force, which would trigger a war with the Hutts while the Republic had no armies, leading to heavily outnumbered Jedi battling Hutt forces while being blamed by the Republic for dragging them into a pointless war

    - Buying Shmi’s freedom, except the Jedi have no actual money to spare.  Their funds go to keeping the galaxy safe and attending to the Jedi’s basic needs.  Plus they only have republic credits, which Tatooine rejects.  They’d have to embezzle the credits to use some other payment like spice, which they won’t do due to the illegal behavior

    - Sneak Shmi out: which also has a problem in that their missions are heavily scrutinized by the republic.  They can’t just have a black ops mission for one slave woman without just reasoning.  Not only does it risk war as mentioned in option 1, but it also would require lots funds as well to pull it off.

It’s tragic, but the options definitely weren’t great.

Man it's Star Wars season again with Andor S2 and I just CANNOT WAIT for you guys to go through not only all of Clone Wars but the rest of the goddamn shows! So excited to (re)watch along with you guys.

Remember guys, you actually don't have to watch Clone Wars because it's just a kids show.

Also Boom misremembered Episode 1 because Obi-Wan stayed with the ship the whole time, he didn't meet Anakin until Qui-Gon returned and fended off Maul so they could escape.

Every single Battlefront game has cool moments, both online and offline. And again, Force Unleashed 1 & 2 are still some of my favorite games. There's also an old Obi-Wan game I remember playing on the original Xbox and it was unique in that the lightsaber attacks were done with the right stick, so the attack would change depending on the direction you pushed it

One of the funniest Clone Wars edits I've seen is How Anakin flirts with the queen of slave traders vs. How he flirts with his future wife...

Part of the reason why we have so few Star Wars games is that EA had the exclusive rights to the license from like 2013 to 2021 and they only made two Battlefront games, Squadrons and Jedi Fallen order, so gaming studios have had at maximum four years to make star wars games. I think there are about five Star Wars games in development from different studios right now.

This is my personal favorite arc of Clone Wars, specifically after season 7. It's so good and dark and touches on the slavery aspect of Anakin's past which sometimes gets glossed over. Such a good story.

3:00 So, around the middle of season 3 was the big time-jump. Season 3 Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-wan have changed uniforms, Anakin's hair is also beginning to grow out more, Ahsoka is taller, her "Montrals" (the things on her head) Have gotten longer and the pointy parts have gotten taller. The clones have switched over to what is called "Phase 2" armor, which is what they wore in Revenge of the Sith. Captain Rex also got phase 2 armor, but in some ways phase 2 armor offered less protection in favor of being more comfortable to move in and cheaper to produce, so Rex actually welded together his old and new armor to make the ideal combination. You can see the weld lines on his helmet and torso.

I wanna say you guys are just seeing the improvement in animation, the original run of this show started in 2008 and ended in 2013, until it was picked back up in the late 2010s, so the show is gonna be looking BETTER and BETTER from here on.

The Jedi overall are wearing less battle armor, and the clones are decorating their armor more with designs and kill tallys.

They didn’t leave Anakin’s mom to still be a slave, they left her because she has a bomb in her head and if they took her they’d either blow her up or send out people to find her.

Padme is a senator and queen she could have just bought her.  It's not like Watto wouldn't sell.  He did sell her to someone who freed her

Didn't he only sell her cuz he was down on his luck or something?

I believe in the comics Padme tried to have people track Shmi down and free her but her aides weren't able to find her for one reason or another. Of course the only reason all these little story details were added in the books and comics is because it is pretty contrived without them. Star Wars extended media is obsessed with plugging perceived plot holes in the films

Sabe (Padme's decoy in the phantom menace.) was sent to find and pay for Shmi's freedom. But Watto went out of business and Shmi was already sold to the Lars family by the time Sabe arrived in Mos Espa. Since Watto's shop was gone, and nobody knew where Watto was at the time, sabe went to the slave graveyard to see if Shmi's name was there. After that turned up with nothing, there was no way to track Shmi, so Sabe left and hoped that Shmi was okay.

He said only 2 good Star Wars games and my heart broke in half 🤣🤣🤣 would honestly love to see you guys play some of the old gems though. KOTOR 1 & 2 are amazing and apparently they are working on the KOTOR 1 remake again. If they manage to finish it that would be awesome. The original was easily a 10/10 for its time and one of the best story driven RPGs ever imo.

Right I was like the fuck you talkin about Ruff?! Theres the Force Unleashed games, the Lego games, KOTOR, the orginal Battlefronts, the Jedi academy games. Lucas Arts had a ton of gems. It was only when EA took over that we stopped getting anything

Something about the faces in this arc, they’re so detailed and expressive.

Fun fact about this particular ark. It was adapted from a comic that was written by one of the writers of the Clone Wars' early seasons. The comic version plays it more straight and is more brutal than the show, which is probably due to the heavy subject material involved.

The comic version also had a more...revealing costume for Ahsoka (Who was 14 in the comic, compared to her being 16 in the show)
