Star Wars: The Clone Wars Episode 132-133 Reaction

I've been using your Clone Wars reactions as my first time viewing. Seasons 1 through 4 weren't the easiest for me to get into, but I still wanted to watch it all to get into the world more and finally get all the lore that I've been missing. So just saying, if you were to change your mind and not skip episodes of Bad Batch and stuff, I would definitely be one of the people watching it all, because your reactions make it a lot easier for me to get into these kinds of shows.

The younglings from the show might not be the same younglings we saw in Episode 3, but I don't think it matters. We have to remember that he went to kill literally everyone in the Jedi Temple. It wasn't just that one room of younglings that he killed, and even if he didn't personally kill the younglings from this show, they were surely still at the temple and killed either by him or the clones that he was commanding.

As for if you want to skip episodes of Rebels, I think skipping episodes is more hassle than it's wort, but here's a list:

S1E4: feels kind of fillery, but a few characters and things from the episode are important later I think

S1E7: kinda fillery, but also the first mention of a hugely important character/situation

S2E5 might be skippable, though it doesn't feel fillery I think it has no consequence

    S2E7 is skippable

S2E14 is standalone, it gives more info on one character/species, but could be skipped without missing overarching plot

S3E6 is skippable but you'd like it I think

    S3E8 skippable

S3E9 skippable, but you'd like it?

S3E14 Fillery, but the conclusion has massive plot implications

S3E19 skippable in regards to big plot, but I suspect youll like the character this centres around

season 4 has no filler at all I think. It's a ride.

As for bad batch fillery episodes, it's hard to determine yet because it's so recent, so we don't know if they're gonna build anything onto episodes that seem unimportant right now

Maul is by far my favourite character and your timing of finishing the show is great as he’s getting his own show called “Maul Lord of shadows” in 2026 which takes places after clone wars

Now that you guys have finished Clone Wars, you can watch season 1 of the Mandalorian (unfortunately season 2 will spoil something significant from rebels, so you should wait till rebels is done that before watching the rest of mando. And you really should watch mando before ahsoka.

So, time permitting, after bad batch, you should watch rebels, then mando, then at least two specific episodes of Book of Boba Fett, then Ahsoka. Mercifully, everything going forward is much shorter than clone wars, 4 seasons of rebels, three 8 episode seasons of mando, and ahsoka is only one 8 episode season so far, with a second coming next year-ish. Also keep in mind the mando movie is coming in May.

You can watch Obi Wan and Skeleton Crew whenever, both are great, neither really ties into anything else or spoils anything. As others have said, obi wan is kinda filler...but it's pretty fun all the same. Skeleton Crew is basically just treasure island/the goonies, in space. Not a priority by any means, but very fun.

oh, and andor...given your already packed schedule it's hard to fit in, like skeleton crew and obi wan, and it's not super relevant to anything either. But it is VERY good, so...watch it in a year or so when you've gotten through all the big stuff.

No, especially if they want to watch ahsoka, which is essentially season 5 of rebels. Watching rebels is also fairly important for mando.

Really, the Filoni shows all kind of play off the same loose storyline, so you do kind of have to watch them all, and roughly in order. (though watching bad batch before rebels is fine)

No clue if this'll still be seen but:

You must watch rebels before ahsoka.

Bad batch is great but has a bit much filler in season 2 I think?

Kenobi is 100% worth it, it has really cool moments and you'll love it. It just has some loud haters the way some star wars stuff does. The same way Ahsoka as a character got a lot of hate.

Kind of funny for you to end your comment saying "don't listen to anyone else telling you what you shouldn't shouldn't watch" when you started it by saying "don't skip any episodes". They're going to do what they want to do and that includes not watching all of a long ass show that frankly they don't need to watch to get what's going to be happening going forward

I love bad batch but it is inconsequential. But I’d like you to watch it all. But you can’t skip any rebels episodes. Sacrifice anything else but rebels is the best Star Wars content. And it’s that way because of how you come to learn about and live the characters. I don’t think there’s a bad episode of rebels like there is a few boring arcs of the clone wars. I’d love you to watch everything and I think we’d all be patient and get through all of the lesser stuff. But please don’t skip a rebels episode. It is only the best Star Wars content because it builds on itself and if you skip the foundation then then it’s not going to hit the same

DO NOT SKIP Rebels EPISODES. It admittedly starts slow but it is just as good as Clone Wars and has just as many important moments. Especially if you want to watch ahsoka. The Ahsoka show is basically a continuation of rebels. And watch rebels before Bad Batch, the experience is better that way.

And if you want to watch Ahsoka, you could watch in this order:

    Tales of the Jedi

    Rebels

    The Mandalorian season 1-2

    Book of Boba Fett

    The Mandalorian season 3

    Ahsoka

Did I misunderstand, or did y'all say you don't plan on watching Rebels? If you don't do Rebels, you can't do Ahsoka. It's not just Easter eggs. The plot of Ahsoka relies HEAVILY on what is established in Rebels. I'm not just saying that. I don't think you will understand much if you don't watch Rebels.

Sorry that's just a flat-out lie as someone who didn't watch all of rebels and watched Ahsoka I can let them know they absolutely don't need to watch all of rebels because I wasn't lost at all watching ashoka. It doesn't rely heavily on what happens and Rebels their elements from rebels in it but the good thing about it is it doesn't put itself in a situation where you had to watch the whole show of rebels to get what happened

As someone who watched all of Bad Batch and Rebels you definitely don't have to watch everything, but there are some episodes that, while not adding to the plot definitely have great character moments that add a lot to everything as a whole. That's especially the case for the earlier parts of Bad Batch, while the later ones are more plot driven. For Rebels there are more filler episodes toward the beginning of the show as well, but I do not recommend on skipping too many of them as they also portray the character dynamics of all new characters you haven't met in the story so far, but that is entirely up to you.

I like that you touched up on the various things CW explained for the movies. For example the clones, their training and various personalities showed they were honorable soldiers and loyal to the chain of command. People who just watched the movies just saw them as soldiers blindly following orders once Order 66 was given. Without CW to explain how and why they turned really takes away from them being independent individuals. They even showed their loyalty and independence when faced with a corrupt leader, General Krell. Before CW Commander Cody was the only clone we saw interacting with the Jedi and they seemed friendly socially, but post Order 66 they were cold heartless killers. Kinda speaks volumes about choice of following orders blindly.

I really loved you reaction to clone wars and I must say I'm a big fan of Rebels and the original characters that are introduced in it. Without spoiling, I'll say that a good number of those characters are important for the live action series and that Rebels doesn't really have filler episodes like clone wars had because you always follow the same group of characters and the story isn't jumping around multiple point of view.

So personnally, I'd recommand you to watch the entierety of Rebels.

I must say that, if you start skipping episodes on your patreon reactions because of youtube algorithm and numbers, I might just not renew my membership as it would not really make sense to keep it going.

In my opinion skipping episodes in rebels is a mistake. Rebels is all about the characters and their relationships and you miss key moments by skipping. You may have some episodes do better than others but I don't think you will be able to follow the story well if you skip. I throw a vote in for skipping bad batch entirely.

All shows are about the characters in their relationships but the reality is you don't need to watch every single episode to understand the characters and relationships and it's no different for rebels. The only story they need is the handful of episodes that have a Soca and Darth Vader in them to be honest with you especially since they're really looking forward to watching Ahsoka

While I agree there was a great deal of sexism and racism fueling the negative response to the show, the writers also committed atrocities against narrative structure that would have gotten them a failing grade in any first year creative writing course. I wish it had gotten renewed because it had potential and it think could have figured things out eventually but the episodes we got were massive storytelling failures.

Acolyte is one of the biggest cases of missed potential. It has some great ideas in it but the exaction was extremely poor. It has some terrible writing mistakes, it fucks with cannon in stupid unnecessary ways and the primary "mystery" doesn't really work. It is generally pretty visually appealing, it has some of the best fight choreography, and it does have some very good acting. It is a real mixed bag to be honest.

    * Star Wars Rebels sets the references of new canon. I would say a lot of it should be first, knowing you already missed some lesser references, BUT it's got some pretty important footholds you'll need to continue the journey.

Everything kind of kicked off after Rebels, which is why comments always lead you BACK to Rebels. It rekindled the franchise after Clone Wars was hard paused and created a new foundation for the lore.

    * Bad Batch is brilliant, probably what you will look forward to most coming hot off of Clone Wars, but keep in mind it was made years later from Rebels and S7 of TCW.

    * The "Tales of" trilogy, I believe you can watch "Jedi 1-6" whenever;

    "Tales of Empire" after Rebels/Mandalorian S3/ Boba Fett (basically watch it LAST);

"Tales of the Underworld" I would not watch until AFTER you finish Bad Batch (and I'd argue Mandalorian but see what everybody else is saying).

    * Mandalorian S1, S2, Book of Boba Fett (might as well be Mando S3 and just isn't called that), then Mando S3, then Ahsoka show (BUT ONLY AFTER REBELS).

    * Andor, I think can go whenever honestly.

    * Solo, should be watched after Rebels.

As for the rest, let's get through this list before going into anything else.

You have like 10 years of Star Wars to catch up on and you're doing a good job getting through it, making it through the 30 years of SW before THAT in like 2 years, so bravo. Just keep at it and I'll keep enjoying the reactions. God speed! 🫡

Because they don't need to they just need to watch all the important episodes in Rebels with Ahsoka and Darth Vader that address past situations and prepare them for future ones in future shows. And for you it's maybe as easy as waiting for a notification but for them a lot more time and energy needs to go into committing to a show that has that many episodes especially if certain episodes aren't going to do that well.

whatever yall do, DO NOT FOLLOW THE TIMELINE ORDER! Release order is king, don't confuse yourself. Rebels is next, start there. I'll let people smarter than me tell you which episodes are essential. Also, yall can watch Solo and Andor whenever tbh, no prerequisite knowledge needed now.

If y'all are really gonna skip a few episodes of Rebels and Bad Batch, then I heavily HEAVILY recommend watching those skipped episodes off screen. Unlike Clone Wars, there are no filler episodes. There are a few episodes in Rebels that at first glance seem unimportant, but I promise you all of it leads to something in the show. Once again, I'm not asking to post every episode, I am asking you guys to at least watch those skipped episodes in your own time off screen. Bad Batch is similar in that, but Rebels is by far the more important show for several of the other shows to come.

  61. izzyskittycat
    1 month

I'm totally down for y'all to watch Rebels and Bad Batch whilst skipping the more fillery/worse episodes. I'll trust the process that you'll know which episodes are really good/important, i'm sure y'all have help with that, but yeah there's some really boring/bad episodes in both shows that don't really add much. I think (most of) the Live Action shows are the far more exciting remaining shows though there's some good 'Tales of...' episodes too!

P.S: I like both the Acolyte and Skeleton Crew, I think they're worth watching. I think they're fun, interesting and unique romps in the SW universe and I think both, but especially Acolyte, got way too much hate. Like don't get me wrong they don't really achieve the highs of some of the others shows but they're honestly not as bad as some people were saying, imo anyways!

You need to watch The book of Boba Fett after Mandalorian season 2 before you start season 3. Also you can watch Tales of the Jedi and Underworld now but I would wait for Tales of the Empire till either before or after Rebels.

You guys do what you want and need to do, just in case you need to research for the mandalorion and book of Boba Fett. The Boba Fett show takes place between season 2 and 3 of the Mandalorion. There's lots of animated and live action shows some better than others. But as others said Bad Batch and Rebels don't really have filler. Some episodes are more so for character building than others and the rest are more plot relevant but you do you. Oh and also watch Ahsoka after season 3 of The Mandalorion. That's the correct order

I totally agree that you don't need to watch every episode of rebels and Bad batch but I would reeeeeeally advise doing the tv shows in release order and not timeline order. There will be characters you'll meet in bad batch that will mean nothing to you because they were introduced in another tv show. They will be referencing MANY things that will just not register with you guys because they're hints to things already introduced in other films or shows. (obviously cannot be too clear here as am avoiding spoilers). It would be like watching Solo before a new hope or watching Avengers before the rest of phase 1. Yea it's cool and a fun time but the emotional beats are designed to hit based on prior knowledge.

Loved watching it with yall start to finish

    Personal recommendations:

Tales of the Jedi + Underworld must watch (right after clone wars is good)

Tales of the Empire (doesn’t matter when probably good after clone wars)

Bad batch (haven’t seen excited to watch)

Rebels (must see before Mandolorian and Ahsoka not as good as clone wars can skip episodes)

Kenobi And then Andor, Mandolorian, Ahsoka

The Star Wars watch order is really tricky because the release order and the chronological order are not even close to being the same. So a lot of the later real world shows occur chronologically before the earlier released shows and are used to fill in what are essentially One Piece Flashbacks. In some cases it works fine either way, and in some cases you're watching a Corazon-Law flashback while you're still in the East Blue. Honestly just thinking about a right watch order hurts my head a bit but here is my best recommendation order which is neither by chronology or release order but more emotional impact and relevance.

    1. Tales of the Jedi Ep. 2,3,4 (Count Dooku origin)

    2. Bad Batch (While watching at least one of you should read the Scalpatine novel Dark Disciple which is based off unused Clone Wars Season 6-7 scripts).

    3. Tales of the Underworld Ep 1-3 (Scalpatine)

    4. Tales of the Underworld Ep 4-6 (Cad Bane origin)

    5. Solo Movie

    6. Obi-Wan Series

    7. Rebels S1-S2

    8. Tales of the Jedi 1,5,6 (Ahsoka)

    9. Rebels S3-S4

    10. Tales of the Empire 4,5,6 (Barris Offee)

    11. Andor

    12. Rogue One (Trust me you will want to react to it again and trust me it hits so much harder after Andor.)

    13. The Mandalorian S1-S2

    14. The Book of Boba Fett (Essentially Mandalorian S2.5)

    15. Mandalorian S3

    16. Tales of the Empire Ep 1,2,3 (Morgan Elsbeth)

    17. Ahsoka S1

    18. Skeleton Crew

The Acolyte happens so far before The Phantom Menace you can watch it anytime.

Resistance starts before The Force Awaken and continues after it. I don't know anyone who considers it essential viewing.

Visions is a non-canon anthology series you can use to take breaks from the main story when you feel like it. Some of the shorts slap and some are duds. Like any anthology series.

Honestly there is no perfect order to watch these in. Rebels aired before season 7 of clone wars, so while bad batch has some references of characters occuring in rebels (not gonna lie it is nice to know about them in advance), season 7 of clone wars sets up bad batch, it is a direct continuation.

It would be difficult to cherry pick episodes though. Good luck! Can't wait to see what you guys pick next.

I mean I’m not understanding the point in trying to not watch rebels in its entirety. If they are so worried about “YouTube numbers” then just make Rebels a Patreon only series. I feel like that’s a better resolution for people that pays to see these journeys reacted to then to just be like “yeah we only watching specific episodes”. And I’m really not sure what “numbers” they looked at cause I looked at bigger channels like Normies and Blind Wave and their Rebels reactions did consistent good numbers. Did certain episodes do more than others? Of course but overall rebels on YouTube for both channels did great.

As many have said, Tales of the Jedi+Underground is worth watching right after Clone Wars because they're short and fun. The Bad Batch and the Rebels' story don't impact each other much, but Badbatch makes more sense to watch first because you just finished Clone Wars.

Regarding filler episodes, Bad Batch's more focused story makes less filler than Clone Wars had, but it still has some, mostly in season two. Some people will dislike you skipping episodes in Bad Batch because even the filler has some of the build up for the season finales. Not all of it is needed for the story. Any Bad Batch episode with a heavy focus on the Empire is amazing. Almost all of season three is solid and builds up to the final few episodes. I haven't watched Rebels in a while, but I know it can be inconsistent like Clone Wars was.

In my opinion, the season finales for Bad Batch are as good as the best of Clone Wars, and the season three finale is better. Love your work. I'll be here and happy for whatever you react to.

Also, I don't know why people are so mad about your decision. 7 full seasons in just Bad Batch and Rebels would take well over a year, not to mention all the smaller productions and everything that comes after. These shows are good, but with all the different reactions you're doing at once, it makes no sense to watch every little thing. Star Wars would take so many years to finish at that pace.

I see you’re confused about the tales stuff, they’re really good very short mini arcs they usually do every May the 4th,, like with everything I would recommend release order for Star Wars as a whole because there’s a reason they release it in this way. So my recommendation would be

    -Rebels

    - Live action shows like mando boba Ashoka in their respective season orders (you might have to jump around) , Boba honestly was very meh to me but there is an episode or two that is VERY important and a continuation from Mando so at the very least check that out if u plan to skip Boba

    - Bad Batch

-ANDOR. (one of the best tv shows I’ve seen especially s2)

-Acolyte - I absolutely loved the concept and vibe of this show, deffo isn’t the strongest storytelling but the hate was just very much exaggerated

-Tales of the Jedi, Empire etc you can just throw in there

So, for the Tales series, you guys could honestly watch all of those now. They take place either before or after the close wars, (depending on which character tale you are following)

Tales of the Jedi features Dooku before his fall, and Ahsoka both as a baby, and after Order 66.

Tales of the Empire features Barris during the time of the empire, and a nightsister that survived the genocide on Dathomir.

Tales of the underworld features Ventress (Scalpatine) after order 66, and Cad Bane before he was a famous bounty hunter.

They each get three 15 minute episodes a piece, so 45 minutes or a short story featuring a character would be a good video to binge.

You guys gotta react to the tales of the Jedi on the other tales short series they’re basically short story arcs diving into certain characters at different points in the timeline they’re actually really interesting you get to see Ashoka’s origin and Dooku’s origin in the Jedi one, and in Tales of the empire you’ll probably have to wait a while to watch that because there’s a story arc for a character that’s in the Ashoka show, but the Tales of the underworld is about Ventress after the Clone Wars and Cad Banes origin story so you could watch that one right now too.

I don't like the idea of skipping episodes, and most shows since the clone wars show have really cut back on the those useless filler episodes, and you guys have watched enough where you can skip some show and come back to them later and dont have to watch them in timeline order but if you guys want to watch the ashoka show asap watch all of Rebels, then then the mandolorian seasons 1 and 2 then Ashoka, then do the other shows at some point, and if you continue doing the double episodes for rebels like you did for clone wars you should make short work of it.

Visions you can watch whenever and same goes for Tales of the Jedi, Empire, and Underworld. HOWEVER, the best episodes from Tales of the Jedi are episodes 2-4 bc they center on a certain Sith Lord played by one Sir Christopher Lee in the movies.

Jedi can block stuns, Ahsoka does it many times when she's on the run in her trial arc. They just dissipate instead of being deflected back though.

Damn really sad to hear we won’t be getting all of Rebels and Bad Batch. Still will be glad to watch whatever you guys do react to though. Really hope you guys consider doing tales of the Jedi while clone wars is still fresh. Tales of the Jedi would definitely be next in the timeline at this point

So excited for y'all to potentially react to Tales of the Jedi, Empire, Underworld. I would recommend watching them all the way through as each of those shows are only a season each and short (6 episodes per show) and the runtime varies between 15 -20 mins per episode. they are highly rated and feature a lot of fan favorite characters (Ahsoka, Scalpatine) just to name a few.

You can watch them whenever but I'd say that watching them immediately after Clone Wars gives them more impact in my opinion.

Also excited for all the other Star shows y'all are planning on watching as well!

    P.S.

Watched the clone wars with you all from the very beginning and it has been an amazing experience! Keep up the great work!

Highly recommend watching tales of the Jedi before starting any other star wars shows. It's more Ahsoka during the prequel timeline. And you can watch the 3 Dooku Episodes in one week and the 3 Ahsoka episodes the next. They're all shorter that regular episodes and not filler.

I'm perfectly fine with the way you intend to watch the other long running animated shows. Thanks for reacting to all of clone wars and I look forward to your future reactions!

Do NOT watch the Acolyte guys…holy shit lmao save yourself the MASSIVE waste of time that shit show takes away PLEASE. It’s worse than the sequels…Tales of the Jedi is great, it’s clone wars animation, real short stories, really solid.

Tales of the Jedi, Empire and Underworld can't beputin the timeline because they are short stories that jump around through the timeline. But they are really worth a watch if you want some more of Ahsoka or Qui Gon as a Padawan. If I remember correctly nothing in there shoukd spoil stuff you haven't seen yet.

Yeah, personally, watching through any of the animated shows, I'm one to skip through the fat. Cut to the chase. The same way that Clone wars has some massive peaks and valleys, bad batch and rebels do too. I'd say that they have even more "Idgaf" moments. Like legitimately most of the episodes are filler, compared to clone wars which pretty much has a 50/50 to have a good or bad arc. Mostly, bad batch is a single narrative that goes from beginning to end that is cross-cut with a lot of slice of life adventures that do not come up ever again. The main narrative itself tho is a complete banger. I was going to recommend, if you did react to them, to skip around a bit. I'm glad you guys have come to this conclusion tol. There are some episodes that have legitimately left me thinking "I'm never getting those 20 minutes of my life back".

I'd be more than glad to send here a list of episodes that are good to watch and who are safe to skip.

I'm not so good on rebels tho, the amount of filler really made me pass more on it and by now I only remember certain good moments whilst having forgotten most of it. Definitely will be commenting my list later tho when time permits.

Going in order is the move. Tales of the Jedi and the other two are more or less fine to knock out all at once at whichever time you choose. There are bits in Tales of the Empire I would say can be left for after you finish season one of rebels but TBH I say watch them all now.

The “Tales of …” series you can watch whenever you want now that you're done with SW: TCW. I recommend watching the “filler” or “unpopular” episodes on your own time, they give more depth to the characters and make the emotional moments, both happy and sad, hit a lot harder. :)

I would say that Star Wars Rebels is the most important show to watch in order to understand live-action shows like The Mandalorian and Ahsoka. Rebels is faster-paced than Clone Wars, so every season is very important. Plus, Rebel characters show up a lot in all the live-action stuff now. So, Star Wars Rebels is the most important show, contribution-wise. Bad Batch is important for understanding the clones better, but it contributes very little to the overall timeline of Star Wars, same for shows like Star Wars Visions and Tales of the Jedi. With Rebels you get more Darth Vader, Ashoka, Rex, and Maul as well as other really important characters that I will not spoil about. I will say Season 2 and Season 3 of Rebels are the most important to watch and you should definitely watch the first episode of season 1, just to get some context. For Bad Batch, I recommend season 1 and season 2 in order to understand how the clones transitioned to stormtroopers with the fall of the Republic, you can decide if you want to continue on from there. In my opinion, Clone Wars had the most filler episodes of any Star Wars show, so it's a bit hard to pick out episodes to watch from the newer ones.

Honestly I think knocking out Tales of the Jedi first is a good start. Bad Batch is like three seasons if I remember correctly so you can pick episodes from that. Bad Batch is basically the transition/bridge from Galactic Republic to Galactic Empire and how that looks.

Okay, I skipped to the discussion on the plan for future Star Wars...I am down for watching just the most popular episodes, but I do highly HIGHLY recommend watching the not as popular ones in your own time. There are no Arcs in Rebels or Bad Batch, but even the smallest thing has a major impact on the overall story (especially in Rebels)

As far as Tales of the Jedi, Underworld and Empire goes, you can technically watch them at any point now that Clone Wars ended. They're all in Clone Wars animation with voice actors from CW. The 3 shows give insight on characters' past and what's to come for your boys in the future.
