In the bar scene Boom did notice that Motorhead was playing. But it wasn't the song you probably thought it was. They actually did a parody of You Better Run specifically for the film called You Better Swim to better fit the setting.

Yeah this is the finale of the first spongebob saga, but I do hope you watch some episodes of the later seasons because there are some episodes worth watching despite the overall quality not being as good as the first three seasons, there is also the time where the creator came back and did a few seasons before his passing

Loved the reactions, and would love if you guys continued with this series. Personally, I still enjoy season 4+ episodes for the most part, all I can really say is that the style/pace of the humor gradually changes starting after the 1st movie. I'll also say that a lot of people's criticisms of later episodes just boils down to "it's not season 1-3", but there are also plenty of legitimate criticisms to be made, mostly regarding the character writing. Regardless, I'm glad you all enjoyed the show so far!

Also fun fact but the song played at the end when the credits start rolling is “Ocean Man” by Ween who were Hillenburg’s favorite band. Their album “The Mollusk” which the song is from was what inspired the series. They also previously wrote and recorded the “Loop de Loop” song for the episode where Spongebob forgets how to tie his shoes.

No, that is what you guys claim, I was watching Spongebob from season 1 all the way up to season 9 and there were some good/great episodes in seasons 4-9 that I genuinely liked.

i agree there are some very good episodes past the movie, but they are mixed in with a lot of episodes that go from mediocre to down right uncomfortable and bad. While from season 1 to 3 its almost all iconic episodes well thought out and memorable. And I was watching from season 1 to 9 as well! I just have a feeling they wont enjoy every single episode in season 4 and up and I'm afraid it will taint the experience of classic spongebob. I am definitely open to being incorrect tho!

As someone who grew up in mid to modern era of SpongeBob. There are def some hits here and there. Mainly in the specials.
Tho the quality drop is definitely noticable after the series left. Especially after season 5.
The mid seasons are more akin to ren and stimpy while the modern seasons give off looney tunes vibes.
I say this as someone who watched up to season
