  1. Just so you know, I’ll keep watching if you guys do. I enjoy so many of the future episodes and find all of it nostalgic. Yes, seasons are better than others, especially the classics, but every season has peak episodes. Season 5 & 7 are ones I am especially looking forward to.

  2. I think the show keeps its charm until around season 8 or 9, even with the animation quality decreasing through the years. After that I don’t really have an opinion either way, but the animation style season ~10 and onward gets a bit obnoxious at times. Either way, I’d watch Spongebob reactions all the way through

  3. There are some gems here and there, but most of the memes come from the first 3 seasons for a reason.

I’m grateful for the continuation because it allowed me to watch the old reruns, but it does lose its charm despite the nostalgia i have from the early 2010s. Still looking forward to your reactions

  4. If I had a nickel for every Tom Kenny character who is tormented by a bird, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

  5. I found your channel from your SpongeBob reactions and instantly became a Diamond supporter. I’m still going to stick around. Can’t wait for Danny Phantom to start!

SpongeBob Season 4 & 5 have some really good episodes like Pearl’s Birthday episode, Friend or Foe, the Gary episode, Krusty Towers, etc. So I’m definitely gonna keep watching SpongeBob with you guys. But first we gotta see your reaction to the movie which is awesome

  6. Say what you will about the later seasons of Spongebob, but DAMN do they have some REALLY good episodes later on! The stigma of the “new Spongebob is bad” really only comes about from the immediate season or two after the first movie, as it certainly feels different, they have some boring episodes here and there, coupled with some really nasty gross out episodes here and there as well, and admittedly they lean on Plankton ALOT for a long time, but it hits a really good stride not too long after that and I think while the first 3 season will always be my absolute favorite, there are so many contenders on the modern seasons that do ’em justice.

ESPECIALLY the 2nd Movie, it’s almost the exact same feel as the first movie and it’s only maybe a couple points lower in quality of writing or entertainment, objectively, but I still loved it just as much and I have a strong feeling you guys will love it too.

  7. So excited for the movie it’s so freaking GOATED also can’t wait for season 4 cuz honestly that’s when I stopped watching and it does have some iconic episodes

  8. Season 8 is properly the last most tolerable season to watch. ( seasons 9 to present are just bad ). You guys should watch the other SpongeBob Christmas episode !

    1. How is season 9 onwards bad??? Season 9 is the season where the creator returned to write for the series and it actually got better humor wise! Plus it we actually got such banger episodes during season 10-12!

  9. So basically Stephen Hillenburg left the show after season 3 and the first movie and would stay as executive producer with a significantly smaller role. However, many years later he was diagnosed with a disease, so he decided to return to work on the show for as long as possible before his passing in 2018. So he had a huge hand in the production of season 9 and then the second movie. If you guys are looking for an official stopping point, that’s what I would recommend. But of course, it’s up to you….

    1. I do think it’s worth noting that Stephen himself appointed one of the writers of the show, Paul Tibbitt, as the new showrunner. So it wasn’t entirely new people, but there was definitely some new blood.

  10. I can’t wait for the movie and for you guys to keep watching. Some of my favorite episodes are in season 4, 5 and 6. My younger siblings kept it on tv until then

  11. Y’all should also react to the second movie after the first one! The creator returned as a writer for it and it’s absolutely just as good as seasons 1-2 SpongeBob! They also made a SpongeBob musical which is phenomenal, one of the best adaptations! The songs are fire and Patchy sings in it too! The creator really liked it as well. 😀

  12. Basically Stephen Hillenburg wanted the series to end with the movie as he felt dragging the show on for too long would be “jumping the shark” but Nickelodeon decided to just replace him as show runner and continued to milk the franchise for another 11 seasons 2 more movies and 2 spinoffs with increasingly diminishing results

    1. i personally think seasons 4-7 have great episodes. It’s not like every episode from season 1-3 are perfect and amazing. Like with any show, there are hits and misses. I also think since they haven’t seen those seasons, the reactions would be a bit more unique and interesting since all 4 would be watching with new eyes. Some of my favorite episodes are in the later seasons (i haven’t seen much after season 7 but i wouldn’t hate on it just cause it’s newer).

      1. Nostalgia? It’s season four. It’s literally comes after season three. Why would they be that much removed nostalgia from 3 to 4 unless there was a quality difference? I was in target age range and I remember losing interest because the episode started looking worse. Not to a dramatic degree but enough to lose interest.

      1. As someone who grew up with season 4, I genuinely don’t like most of the episodes. It’s where the humor starts to get one dimensional and the slapstick is more cruel than just funny. Patrick is waaay more of an entitled asshole and honestly an abusive friend to spongebob. SpongeBob annoys squidward in a way more one sided manner. And squidwards hatered is less funny and more justified kinda? Usually squidwards annoyance and suffering would be because of his own ego and issues, but in this season and beyond SpongeBob is just straight up breaking into his home and crushing his dreams unprompted and it’s not funny to me. But to each their own. I just thought I’d share since I watched these episodes as a kid with nostalgia at its peak and remember not really caring for them even at that age.

        1. I’ve also watched seasons 4 & 5 as a kid, and I know there are a few actually good episodes that go along with the vibe of the first three seasons. Those are, however, the exceptions rather than the norm. These seasons just have way less dadaistic humor and meta jokes and just don’t end on a moral unlike the first three seasons in addition to the points you’ve made.
