Mabel is definitely worried about her and Dipper growing apart like Stan and Ford more than the birthday specifically and Dipper never told her about the rift so she didn't know what it was at all. I'm so glad you guys are reacting to this show its so beautifully detailed!!

  super late response, but the book that just came out also confirms that their home life is extremely unhealthy; going home without dipper would mean going back to that without her only support. ofc the guys wouldn't know that or anything, but it just makes that episode so much more sad, and really justifies the whole mental breakdown mable goes through.
