  1. Hall Of Egress was probably one of the episodes if not THEE episode that when I watched it, I completely fell in love with the show and followed it to a T. I had already loved AT before but this specific episode made me realize back in the day, that this show was something else. I have been an Adventure Time enthusiast ever since and this show holds a dear place in my heart <3 BILLYYYYYYY!!!

  2. YES Adventure Time Thursdays!!!! I am literally giddy with excitement to see you guys react to AT all the way till the end of S10 and then hopefully to Distant Lands and finally to Fionna & Cake :’) BILLLYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Everyone else is already saying this but season 7 and on got messed up by Cartoon Network. Originally, they made 9 seasons, but Cartoon Network split them up in 10, sometimes even 11 seasons. The episode names spoil nothing so I’ll mention them here. The actual Finale of season 7 is a two parter called “preboot/reboot”. The actual season 8 finale is called “three buckets”. And the actual season 9 finale is the series finale.

  4. Hey guys, giving you a heads up in terms of the order of the episodes, CN aired Season 8 in a wierd way, sometimes messing up the timelime so you really should watch by the production order:
When you guys reach ‘I am a Sword’ go – ‘Five Short Tables’ – ‘The Music Hole’ – ‘Daddy Daughter Card Wars’ – ‘Bun Bun’ – ‘Normal Man’ – ‘Elemental’ – ‘PreBoot’ – Reboot’ . After these continue normally.

  5. Another Quick Reminder that the real Season 7 Finale are the episodes called “Preboot” and “Reboot”, not “The Thin Yellow Line”.

The Hall of Egress is one of those Legendary Episodes that leaves an impression on everyone who watch them, a couple of people in here in the comment section have already numbered several reasons why it is a masterpiece. It’s not my personal favorite episode but it is definetely up there.

Flute Spell is also another fantastic episode, it’s great to see Finn being more mature in his approach to situations.

But lastly i just wanna say….. Jenny Slate is amazing dude…. i still can’t wrap my hear around the notion of her being capable of voicing a character so cool like Huntress Wizard…. while also being able to voice a character so utterly annoying like Ponyhead.

    1. Also talking about the “The Thin Yellow Line” episode… it’s not that the fear of the Banana Guards and the Candy Corn General was baseless…. PB has done some reaaaaaaaally questionable stuff in the past, the most notable of which are the Rattleballs incident where she pretty much committed Genocide (although for a somewhat justifiable reason) and also the events of the “The Cooler” episode where she almost completely destroyed the entire Fire Kingdom as a preventative measure.

And we can also not forget that she has been a control freak for almost the entire show, she has been spying everyone of importance in the Land of OOO up until the aforementioned “The Cooler” episode where she disconnected all the surveillance cameras she had installed throughout the Land (although she still occasionally spies on her own citizens).

  6. The Hall of Egress a place that forces you to deal with your issues and made Finn really grow up. Also season 7 originally was meant to end on the episodes Preboot and Reboot it works with the season better, so I say when checking the wiki make sure you click Original order

  7. Fantastic episodes in Finn’s development and maturity.

Hall of egress: One of the most complicated to understand and as is obvious as it is an episode of interpretation. Everyone has their own opinion (Like the intention of the dungeon is to exit “egress” through complex methods in order to MATURE), and the What I like the most is the “Hero’s Jouney” circle proposed by the Youtuber “Uncivilized Elk”, 1) Call to Adventure and Supermatural aid: Where Finn meets Hall of Egrees and is trapped without Jake and tries to get out, 2 ) Threshold and Chállenles and Temptations: Finn encounters the door and goes through the mazes, trying typical and familiar solutions and facing the dilemma of not being able to open his eyes, 3) Mentor and Helper: Being PB giving the first clue that Egress It is “the action of leaving” in a complex way and Jake and BMO affecting him but also removing him from the erroneous solution of being stuck with his eyes closed for months, 4) Revelation, Abyss (Death and rebirth) and transformation: Finn proposes to leave with perseverance of his situation, shedding his childhood identity “his clothes” to explore a way to egress from his situation, 5) Return (Gift of the Godness): Finn finally through his perseverance and his will achieve Egrees (exit) from the dungeon and the “Gift” is the speech that Finn imagines while escaping from the now invisible but also clear maze (Spoken by PB the “Mentor”, this also shown when Finn was collapsed in “Breezy” and PB’s illusion helps him regain hope in his life) the phrase that Finn imagines is “At the seashell center lies cornucopia’s smallest door.” which symbolizes how Finn will now be able to solve new problems that will come to him with knowledge and maturity. Closing the circle of “Hero’s Jouney”. What do you think?

    1. That’s a very interesting and insightful lens to view the episode, but I don’t think it quite capture it’s message. I think this episode urges the viewer to undestand growing up and/or spiritual enlightment as a process through which you learn to abandon the need to narrativize the events in your life and use prescribed solutions.
It conveys that sometimes a situation is so hard to solve, that no known rule, guide or even philosophy (like the narrative you excellently presented) will help you understand it. Sometimes the only way forward is to simply move forward, letting go of any preconceived notions and cutting off any threads that may lead you back. Finn has to leave his family/friends and let go of his clothes (what makes a cartoon character identifiable). In this, by becoming naked and blind, he paradoxically avoids the traps that he previously set off and safely arrives at the very same door that trapped him.
Only by letting go of any possible preconceptions that might have guided him, by “debasing” himself to a purely sensory, animal level, he becomes able to see reality for what it is (easily and carelessly running through the maze) and to actually “see” his goal, which now somehow is much simpler and clearer, before he’s even embarked on the journey.

      1. I’m sorry, I should have said “see reality for what it is, in that there is no ultimate reality or guiding principle you can perceive.” Sometimes the only things that guide us are the things that attract us (like the sound of your friends voice voice).

    2. Flute spell: After Jake’s great song and finding out that “Sword shark” from the first season died. D.E.P. Jake represents us and is excited about Finn’s possible new relationship, but Finn takes this calmly and without expectations, showing that the MONTHS of Hall of Egrees helped him mature, we get to know Huntress Wizard in more depth, a fantastic character and they give us clues of both the mutual attraction of Finn and Huntress as well as when Finn is hallucinating with the “spirit of the forest” he tells Finn that like the wolves, Huntress only focuses on one objective, having a hard time adapting, so that in the end when Finn confesses his feelings to Huntress, she is delighted and kisses him, she tells him that the interest is mutual, but that she also does not feel ready at that moment for a relationship, since she is afraid of becoming soft “Like meat”, and Finn, once again mature, accepts it without problems, in the end as a metaphor for what it is like in real life, Finn and Jake finish their RPG “slowly but surely”, Finn satisfied that he tried it and that maybe in the future he will have another chance.

      1. And finally “The Thin Yellow Line”:
We are shown the change of PB to a better person, and how her past has been misinterpreted (Neddy was NOT locked up against his will, but because of his condition he prefers to be isolated, or that at the slightest mistake PB would kill him, when in the Candy kingdom there is NO death penalty and PB prefers not to kill but to solve reasonable problems diplomatically (Lemongrap being the biggest example) but also how she created her own problems, scaring the Banana guards “Her children practically” causing a distrust that led her to be rejected by the jerk of K.O.O and how she became paranoid by only trusting herself and not others, leading her to make good decisions such as: The destruction of the Rattle Balls (ROBOTS that were a threat both to herself, killing each other for fun, as well as their citizens in the future) and the colonization of radioactive areas dominated by the Oozers plague, as well as BAD: Their EXTREME surveillance of their citizens and their distrust of the kingdom of fire. She is ultimately someone with good intentions, but with VERY GRAY morals in retrospect. As she said: I’ve made mistakes in the past, some of which I’m not proud of. And like at the end of the episode she wants to be more open, and not be afraid to show what the Banana Guard really are like. The last dialogue is very nice. BG: Princess, I don’t have any special talent, PB: That’s fine too, BG: Hurray 😀
