If I may, I think I’m able to clear up some confusion. I can’t speak for everybody, but for me personally, I just find Lumpy Space Princess to be an entertaining character. I’m not trying to defend her or say that she’s an amazing person or anything. In my mind, her primary role in the show is being incredibly self-centered in a world where most of the other characters have much more dimensions to them. As someone who grew up with this show and these characters, I believe LSP is an important part of Adventure Time. I completely understand why you guys hate her, it’s completely valid, but I think most of the people that you see defending her in the comments may be on the same boat as me. Trust me, I’m not LSP in real life and I don’t want to be. Anyway, hope this helps any misunderstandings between you guys and the comment section, if there are any. Loving your reactions!! 🙂
We Love LSP because without her Adventure time wouldn’t be the same, like… we know she’s annoying but that’s obviously the point of her character, so we just embrace the selfishness and pettyness she brings to the table (also our love for her obviously has a bit of irony in it).
But i do have to say that i disagree that without Her the episodes she’s in would be better… take the episode “Summer Showers” for instance… you could argue that the reason that episode was good is precisely because of LSP, without her the episode would have no conflict. LSP’s annoyance acts as a Great Foil to other characters, she’s at her best when she serves as a support character in an episode.
i personally don’t blame you guys for hating her, it is definetely hard to like characters who are meant to be annoying… but at the same time i think it’s unfair of you to say that everyone who likes LSP does because we “identify” with her.
And also… we love LSP because she’s voiced by the Creator of the Show himself, that’s a big bonus in our book.
I would say lsp at least in this episode was a good character if not a likeable one. She actually apologized, suffered karma with both getting hit in the face and taken by the bird. And her annoyance and antagonistic nature actually worked with the episodes theme.
My feelings towards LSP, at least so far, is that I find her more funny than annoying.
Like obviously she can be annoying but idk it’s just never in any legitimate “plot-interfering” way (AKA the king of Ooh) so regardless of how obnoxious or rude she is it never really seems to make me angry (unlike with Finn’s dad).
I get why she would be many people’s least fravriote character though & do agree that her being added/removed from episodes wouldn’t change much (though I personally would miss some of her comedic moments).
The only thing I would disagree with you about her is how she behaved during the storm episode.
She ate the food? Yeah & that was bad but she was also the one who found & carried the food (i would be a lot more pissed if she’d been eating food she had no hand in getting inside the bunker) & it turned out to be bad any way so heck maybe it was better that she was the one to eat it & not someone like Finn lol.
The “need” line wasn’t about her being hungry it was a joke about her wanting to play spin the bottle with Finn (which could be weird depending on how old her & Finn are supposed to be at this point in the show but I digress).
She also did help build the bunker (not very well obviously but she still took part which is definitely something, coming from her).
So this is one of the few times where I think her getting mad at someone for not helping was actually kind of justified (like even BMO & Finn didn’t look very pleased when Jack showed up to the bunker, seemingly empty handed).
Like Jack’s ‘appreciate nature” mindset thankfully worked out, in the end, but the others had no way of knowing it would or what he was even doing up on that cliff top that whole time while they were trying to sort the bunker out.
Lastly Jack did say that he believed that the storm was making them turn on eachother.
Obviously though, at the end of the day, you’re allowed to not like her.
I think some Billy’s might just find the repeated “WE HATE HER” a bit boring/pointless as she’s gonna continue showing up (I assume, as I only rescently started watching the show when I saw you guys were reacting to it) regardless of how any of us feel about her.
I personally much prefer hearing what you guys liked or you theorising about what your watching then you being negative (I promise I’m not trying to control how you should act on your own channel, this is just my personal preference as life kinda sucks right now so I tend to use channels like these for comfort & I don’t do very well with like “angry/mean” humour despite knowing it’s obviously exaggerated for effect).
Now finally, for something we can all agree on, It’s always loving BMO hours 👏💖😊.
Fun fact, Jake did actually video chat with President Porpoise many seasons ago for just a second. Also, what the creepy girls turned into is an actual urban legend. I’m sure it was a hoax but the video of it is still creep af to me with those long legs.
i like LSP not that i relate to her but she’s funny and i love doing her voice also its really not that serious she’s there for a reason.
