I don't really like this new layout, the show is too small this way, I'd prefer the previous one:(

I think the shipping problem is because it is a older teenager/young adult show so they have teen drama.
But man I can’t wait for the next two episodes because they are probably my favorite.

I hate that they made Bolin into a stupid horn dog all of a sudden. Like, HUH?! He's not this stupid. It also sucks that this is the down fall of Mako. Poor guy had to get a redemption arc

I'm not going to lie the movie scene with Bolin and Ginger almost started to look like something else, lol.

I think Korra pretty much had to side with the south at that point. I can't remember which one of you said it but "sometimes war is necessary" is absolutely right in this situation, "you are invading you are in the wrong", 100% with you. Its kinda like people telling Ukraine not to defend themselves (obviously not a perfect parallel but I immediately thought of that with this civil war situation and korra's role). The politics in this show are more interesting each time I watch.

The thing with Avatar as a franchise is that it did a really good thing that shows like Gravity Falls and Steven Universe did as well that helped to make them great shows. They didn't underestimate the themes and ideas that kids can actually understand and process which I feel a lot of people too often underestimate what kids can understand and process.

The reason cops act like this in shows is because it helps write a narrative of one (or a few) good cops, an underdog who has to break rules to get results. In real life, those rules protect us, the citizens. But on tv they stop good cop Mako from getting the job done. It's propaganda, so subtle and generalized plenty of people don't realize they're doing it. I'm sure LOK is just emulating cop shows like Law and Order - and law and order is funded partially by the police, who lend them resources like cop cars for filming. It's propaganda, which is extremely ironic considering the show is making fun of propaganda through Bolin

That is another common complaint people have with this season, the love triangle between Mako, Korra, and Asami, it just feels so forced and it feels like a chore to get through when it is on screen.

Why have there been two episodes about war profiteering this week on SS

Time for more fun details about how Nick screwed this show over. About this time, Nickelodeon started airing the new episodes later at night. When the season premiered, the air time was 8pm, prime time. From here, it started getting later, until the end of the season, where they were airing at 11pm, maybe even midnight. There is a reason why that has been pretty much confirmed, but it's a bit of a spoiler, so I'll hold off until we get to that point, just keep in mind that this was still 2013.

They finally made it to the end of the worst section of TLoK it's only up from here fr fr
Also, I think most people in the fandom (not like a VAST majority or anything but still a majority) hated the love triangle to begin with but I think most (the vast majority this time) were completely over it by this point. So y'all aren't alone but just hold out a little bit more lol i promise

And the worst part of LOK is finally over. Even as a kid I hated Mako's and Korra's relationship with a passion.

Like you guys, the extra politics is a hefty chunk of the appeal to the show for me.

About what you said on how you don’t know about kids watching this. I was 10 when it came out, and yeah maybe some of the intricacies flew over my head but I still enjoyed the show a lot.

I always find it interesting here peoples opinions on korra taking a stance in the war because the south is her home because I have heard people gripe that she is biased but most of the avatars literally are biased avatar kyoshi did the exact same thing when she stood against chen the conqueror but no one ever talks about it. Roku admits he was biased by even letting sozin live after he first invaded earth kingdom territory. Basically none of them that we know of were neutral

Most Avatars demonstrably do not have their shit together, people just put them on a pedestal because of their position, it's pretty funny

Exactly. The Avatar has never been neutral and in the Avatar finale all the avatars advised Aang to be present in the world, be decisive and take action.
Also it's funny how Mako is willing to do the same thing (although to a lesser degree) that he ratted Korra out for.
