  1. Bolin just instantly jumping down to face against three experienced adult water benders like that during the middle of the movie was and still is one of my top 5 L.O.K moments to date. His character only gets better from here man.

  2. Tonraq took on his brother after fighting all day, taking spirits, going against the twins and getting sneak attacked. If he had been rested I bet his brother would have gotten his ass beat.

  3. To be completely fair with Varrick. Unalaq started the civil war and blocked Varrick from being able to trade and make money. He wanted the south to win so he could go back to normal

  4. President was pretty dumb, heard he could help save the world and his takeaway was, “oh shit apocalypse coming better brace myself” instead of “oh shit I have the power to help prevent this”. Didn’t even ask more questions about how the world would be thrown into chaos.

  5. As for the animation as boom mentioned, they switched animation studios for the first half of the season but then they went back to the original one they had for season 1 by the time the Avatar Wan episodes were there

  6. As much as everyone (myself included) dislikes the love triangle, and by extension, Mako, I think I understand why they did it. First of all, remember that they had barely a year to to write, animate, and produce this entire season, because Nickelodeon greenlit them barely before season 1 started. Knowing what the writers, specifically Bryan Konietzko, were aiming to do with certain characters (despite Nickelodeon’s protests), I think they were trying to burn Mako’s romance bridges, making any chance of these relationships go away entirely. Unfortunately, due to the short time allotted for writing, it’s possible that they wanted to come up with a better, less “Fuck Mako” way about it, but had to settle due to trying to get a much bigger story told in such a short time span. That’s my theory, at least, without going into spoilers.

    1. Pretty much. What a lot of people seemed to forget to mention is that season 1 was meant to be the only season. Korra was introduced as a mini-series with just 12 episodes. That is why the first season wraps up so quickly and neatly. Therefore, as DementixXYZ mentioned, the creators had short notice for season 2 when Nickelodeon realized how popular the show was and requested another season.

  7. I liked Kora, but watching y’all’s reactions I forgot how much it packed a punch. The love triangle thing muddies it, but it’s still an amazing show. I’m on the edge of my seat just waiting for more.

  8. The Season Finale of Korra S2 in my opinion. Is what divides the fandom. However, the effect of this finale dictates how a lot of people see the future seasons and even the future of the series. I really am curious to see your reactions to this. IT IS STILL A GREAT SHOW Korra does not deserve the hate it gets. This finale has a lot of stakes involved super excited for the next reaction. Also Season 3 of Korra is one of my favorite Seasons so Im ready for yall to watch that!

  9. I’m so tired of Asami having to grin and bear it while everything goes bad for her, like losing her father, her home, her company, her boyfriend, it’s so much. Mako either date Asami or don’t date Asami just let her rest ?

    1. Things are different when you’re at war. Asami is very mature and knows what’s more important right now is this battle and not bogging down in relationship stuff right now.

  10. Varick and Warren “the worm man” Stone are infact voiced by the same guy! Good ear! He was also the comedically awful announcer named John in the Pitch Perfect trilogy ?

  11. My favourite thing about Bumi rescuing everyone is that now, all of those BS sounding war stories that none of the cast believed, suddenly sound A LOT more believable to us.

  12. The thing about the love triangle for me is like
I’m tired of love triangles in general
And I’m biased because I’m in a committed polycule but like
They could have easily navigated it into a consensual happy thruple situation if it was more socially accepted. I think BoJack is the only show I’ve ever seen do polyamory without making it a love triangle, harem trope, or just really bad and messy. Like they make some fun of it in BoJack but not in a punching down way. Would really like to see that happen more, idk. It’s at least more interesting. ?

  13. Ok lets make a timeline for Mako:
    1) He gets into a relationship with Asami and completely stops listening to his friend even when she warns him multiple times that her girlfriends father is a terrorist.
    2) Gets together with Korra and keep in mind we never actually see him break up with Asami but lets just give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he did offscreen. What bothers me is that he confesses to Korra when she is very emtionally vulnerable having lost all her bending.
    3) Breaks up with Korra and immediately gets back with Asami while said exgirlfriend (and still friend) is in the middle of the war.
    4) Takes advantage of Korra having amnesia to get back with her. Actual pos.

    1. I hate Mako and agree with most you said, but I have to make a plea for him with your last point. I think he clearly didn’t want to get back with Korra and just did it not to hurt her feelings. He’s still a coward for it but it’s better than what you said. The whole amnesia thing is a crap recourse anyway.

    2. not to mention the whole reason he ratted Korra out was because he didn’t want to lie to the president and break rules and then he pulled an illegal sting operation with his ex

      1. I don’t hate Mako, but this here is why I don’t like him as much as the rest of the gang. Says he can’t help his own girlfriend break the rules when her home is at stake, then breaks a bunch of rules to help Asami just because it aligns with his personal goals.

    3. Haha of course when you spin everything like that but let’s get things straight. He did NOT take advantage of Korras amnesia to get back with her. That’s just absurd. He’s clearly trying to find the best moment to bring it up seeing it might not put someone in the best headspace when they are about to fight one on one in a battle that will determine the fate of the entire world!

    4. Also if your friend claimed that your girlfriend’s father was a terrorist and had no proof, would you really not side with your girlfriend? And we did see them break up. It wasn’t very clear that it was a break up and it was VERY poorly written but it was a breakup nonetheless. All that being said Mako is still a POS but he’s not as bad as you’re making him out to be which is why he was able to grow so much in later seasons.

    5. He didn’t take advantage of Korra’s amnesia. He didn’t want to break her heart again. Obviously it’s bad and he should tell her the truth but to claim that his only motivation is to keep her on as his girlfriend is just false.

      1. Yeah no that’s just an excuse. If be broke up with Korra the first time around while she was, and saying this again for emphasis, in the middle of a war and trying to defend her people I don’t see how he would care for her feelings now.

        1. Not an excuse. Not wanting to break her heart is the actual canon explanation for him not telling her that’s portrayed on screen. That and he’s scared of her. But that reason didn’t manifest until the next episode. His initial reason is not wanting to hurt her again. I’m not saying these are good reasons. He should definitely tell the truth but you claiming that he’s trying to keep her on as his girlfriend is never brought up in the show and therefore is not true. You’re essentially writing fan fiction.

    6. Also also the reason that Korra broke up with Mako in the first place is because he ratted her plan out to stop Unalaq to the President, a plan which could have prevented this whole mess they are in now. And literally a few episodes later he himself makes a secret plan to work with literal criminals to stop Varrick. So he is also a hypocrite.

      1. You know, you’re just a little too* angry at Mako lol but that’s whatever. But every single human being on the planet is a hypocrite at some point or another. Mako is not some schemer like you’re making him out to be in your multiple comments. What he is, is a fool of a kid who made some poor decisions that resulted in repeated broken hearts. This is a thing that humans do. We unfortunately hurt people we care about. (Now the severity of it is of course due to the writing, but the point stands)

    7. Also lets not forget the borderline emotional cheating he was doing when he was still with Asami. Getting jealous when Korra went on a ‘date’ with Bolin and confessing to her that he likes her.
