Spider's problem was the pacing starts slow, but then speeds up drastically. Slime shows you the pacing early on and generally keeps that pace for a while (although it does slow down in later seasons). The other problem with Spider is the time skips are awkwardly placed and poorly explained, constantly jumping from past to present across multiple characters was not handled the best.

If you want something weird, choose Bofuri. It has two seasons and it's cool
If you want weird and you want something like this you should watch reincarnated as a vending machine there's only 12 episodes but it's still okay anime
