  1. Gonna start with my go-to roadtrip snack being chocolate bars and Pepsi

Also it kinda mentions it when the kids leave camp but heros quests are seen as world altering events, part of the reason why “the pact” happened between Zeus Poseidon and Hades to not have anymore kids is because(in the books version of events) their kids became so powerful in the world that it literally lead to wars till WW2 became basically a battle between the children of Zeus and Poseidon vs the children of Hades and the damage of that leading to the pact being made. Thats why the fact that Percy even being born is seen as such a bad transgression that no other god would bat an eye if Zeus just struck him down got existing and entering his domain hence why the no-fly rule for Percy

  2. In the books Sally married the stepdad because he smelled so bad that he would mask Percy’s scent. He’s extremely abusive but she endures beatings from him in order to protect her son. I’m glad they made him more like a quiet drunk.

    1. Yeah feel like either 1, Rick thought he maybe went a little tooo far when designing the drambler as he did, or 2 maybe Disney thought it would be either too much or too hard to context clue how much of an asshole he actually was supposed to be so they toned it down a touch for the show

  3. Even though you said you had seen the movies and your dad loves them, I am so glad you don’t seem to remember any of the major things I would want to see someone learn for the first time. For so many people this is a story they know and to see someone who is fresh to the plot points is so fun to watch and really shows how amazing this show has been.

  4. Oh don’t worry, there’s only one post credit scene but that’s not until the very last episode. And great reaction! This was actually one of the parts of the books that got changed around a little bit, mainly Medusa’s character. In the books Medusa is more of a tourist shop luring in customers (victims) with the scent of burgers, fries and milkshakes and offers her collection or offers to make a statue for them. A typical lurk and attack monster but I loved the way Riordan had her changed to fit her myth better. There are two versions of it, the less graphic was that Poseidon and Medusa snuck to Athena’s Temple to date and that angered Athena, but the other is that Poseidon had forced himself on her in Athena’s own temple and that angered her causing the curse. And with this attachment to the character, she just grew, her cunning, the empathy I grew with her and how reasonable to seemed even though she still has that danger aspect of petrification. Also, her costume and makeup looked beautiful, it was a perfect modern wear for her character!

  5. Yayy I’m so excited you’re enjoying the show so far 😊 for a person who haven’t read the books and watched the first movie once years ago I personally see the potential of this show franchise actually becoming a huge iconic success just like Harry Potter.
