Thanks for bringing up the point about why is the justice system not doing something about these criminals in these worlds. Superman and Batman don't kill their enemies, but they do put them in the hands of the law.
If I had one criticism about this film is that it could be longer, as it feels like there is so much more to tackle here 🤔.
Batman and superman public enemy's is one of my favorites dc animated movies
It BAFFLES me how people truly don’t see how a person as powerful as Superman or any of the Elite having unchecked authority to kill whoever they deem worthy of being dead is frightening as fuck.
Like, you guys literally saw in Injustice how Superman became a fascist dictator after killing the Joker.
Justice League: Gods and Monsters is a guilty pleasure movie of mine second to this movie. Not sure how popular it is with others, but it's definitely one of the movies I do pop in once and awhile. Famous cast too, especially when some of the voice actors are known for Crime Show medias of different variety.
Ruff really doubling down on those nipples 😂😂
thats superman's power and speed is basically infinite. because his whole deal is not to be the strongest or never giving up like other characters, his whole deal is to fit in as migrant from another planet. He is as strong and fast a he needs to be and the only limits he has is the onces he puts on himself
It’s not really Superman’s job to kill criminals the governments or legal systems should he’s basically a volunteer cop and should cops kill dangerous repeat offender. What would give Superman the right, they are super powered criminal he stops them and puts them in jail. It’s even lucky he does it at all. I never get the argument that he should just kill them like they have trials right? Love the vids.👍
All-Star Superman is another great Superman movie. Also you did see Atomic Skull in Justice League Vs. The Teen Titans movie
What people don’t get about Superman and other heroes who don’t kill is that when you have the power to punch a hole in a planet you have a responsibility to find new ways to solve problems. Using your powers to just do the same things that cops do doesn’t make things better.
Atomic Skull was in Justice League vs Teen Titans. Write down names or something.
Big Yes on Creature Commandos:
One word of advice, it does take place after James Gunn's *The Suicide Squad* and *Peacemaker* season 1, but it's tangentially related aside from a few common character appearances.
I HIGHLY recommend Superman/Batman: Public Enemies for a future animated Superman movie.
Second it
This is the top of the best Superman movies that just truely captures the character; this, all star Superman, and Batman Superman public enemies. Honestly makes me excited for Gunn’s Superman in July
I have some gripes with the adventures of superman cartoon. One of which is a really annoying tropes that seems to be present a lot nowadays
CREATURE COMMANDOS RAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Big yes to Creature Commandos.
Man I've been waiting for this one. The climax is one of the best moments in DC to watch reactions to
Crisis on Two Earths has those moments too just sayin
WOAH that's the first time I've heard any of them mention Dee Bradley Baker, he's my favorite actor so I'm so glad to hear it :>
1:10:35 fun fact, Zack Snyder almost accidentally quoted Manchester here in an interview discussing Batman & Superman's no kill rules. He's a good director and all but his views on the world are way too pessimistic for a character like Supes.
Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths pretty please!!
They would need to react to the rest of the Tomorrowverse first
My Adventures With Superman is amazing but I also highly reccommend Superman The Animated Series from the 90s (and Batman The Animated Series while we're at it (wink wink nudge nudge))
i dont know if this'd be offensive, but i get why you guys agree with manchester. i have many, many family members who genuinely believe the death toll on the war on drugs where i live is righteous, so i think have a pretty decent understanding of that belief system
All-Star Superman!!!!
one of the best superman comics and a fantastic animated movie would make a great reaction
42:45 atomic skull did show up once in the dcamu, in justice league vs teen titans, after superman gets possessed by trigon, he and skull fight and superman doesnt hold back at all and almost kills skull
There are a few points from the comics they lightened up for the movie, like Vera lost her arms in a factory accident, which is part of why Manchester says he could never stand the smell of the place. They didn't bring it up in the movie but if you pay attention to the scene when she hands Lois the flash drive, you can see the metal of her cybernetic arms between her gloves and the jacket.
The plot for Manchester ends dark like waaaay later in the comics. After this incident, several plot points later, he realizes that Superman was right and he himself was the bad guy and what does Manchester do to baddies? So, he kills himself. He does get brought back after the New 52 and then the Rebirth reboot, but he was considered perma-dead for a while. And Vera leads the Justice League Elite in the comics :>
I would highly recoomend creature commandos, but you should watch THE suicide squad and peacemaker first as they tie into it
Superman/Batman: Public Enemies and Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, these are great stand alone movies.
Please watch All Star Superman.
so glad you guys finally watched this. been waiting seen batman redhood started this journey, the 40 straight seconds of sean's slack jaw was priceless when sups teed up to solo black
Superman/Batman: Public Enemies is a pretty good standalone movie. Supes and Bats have a great dynamic in it and it’s got some really good fight scenes too.
That actually had a sequel Apocalypse. I think it's even better than Public Enemies,
It also has a sequel that introduces Supergirl, Superman/Batman: Apocalypse
Favorite Superman movie. Its what i hope for with the James Gunn version. It tackles the "old-timey" optimistic dream he represents with the new cynical realism and reiterates what those words of "Truth, Justice and the American Way" mean in our new time. We realize that we all just want those EXACT THINGS but it takes work and soing all we can and even more than we can to achieve it. The Dream isnt foolish, we just forget it at times. So freaking good. Still love his UN speech near the beginning too.
Creature Commandos is canon to the new James Gunn DC stuff, as is the 2021 Suicide Squad movie and the Peacemaker show starring John Cena
If you guys wanna keep up with the actual new DC movie and show continuity by James Gunn, you definitely have to watch Creature commandos. Along with The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, since they are folding those 2 into the new continuity.
One of the future Gunn projects is The Elite being introduced into the new cinematic universe, too.
Glad they got the point by the end, had me worried for a second
Man now I want them to watch Shazam and Superman vs Black Adam for that Shazam origin.
YEAH. The Superman/Shazam Showcase. I rewatch that one all the time since its one of the few DC things that show off the Spectre and Jonah Hex. And I love Jonah Hex. :>
nah bro the death showcase or the spectre showcase go way harder
They show watch All Star Superman
Got diamond Tier just for this!!! I’ve been waiting for y’all to watch this. Y’all also gotta watch “All-Star Superman”
DC actually has a weird surplus of radioactive supervillains whose heads are skulls. you got atomic skull, Mr Bones, Dr. Phosphorus, Lord Death-Man, Blight, Mano, and probably more I don't remember
Reminds me of their surplus of Gorilla villains
ok but that was actually a marketing strategy (they found out that a book was more likely to sell if an intelligent gorilla was on the cover). the skull thing is just coincidences.
YOUNG JUSTICE EPISODE 14 ATOMIC SKULL
def watch creature commandos
also jonathan kent in this is clearly the va of grandpa max
the older and newish non dcau or tomorrovers emovies slap. i love superman doomsday alot more then the dcau take on the story or character . Also check out the lionsgate marvel animated movies
I am still waiting for you to watch Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. That movie was my childhood.
Superman Red Son
Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths
These are some good stand alone movies
I also like Legion of Superheroes(2023)
but it's pretty basic
I'm so happy you guys watched this movie, it is genuinely one of my favorite Superman movies. I can't wait to hopefully see you guys check out more of the 1 off DC animated movies and Creature Commandos. I still hope for one day you guys react to the animated Marvel movies like Planet Hulk, Hulk VS, Ultimate Avengers 1 and 2, Next Avengers Heroes of tomorrow, and Thor tales of Asgard
lionsgate marvel was peak
I men’s you guys saw Injustice and what supermsn did after he killed Joker he became a whole dictator like it’s pretty clear what happens or can happen😂
Please watch justice league crisis on two earth's it won't disappoint
Now that's what I'm talking about 🤣. You guys are probably the only reactors I've seen reacting to other DC animated films outside of the DCAMU 🤣.
Nevertheless, this film is one of my go to examples of Superman film done by people who get this character and know how to write him (next to Richard Donner's Superman and Superman the animated series).
For all the people who say that Superman is boring because he's OP and unrelatable. I recommended they view this film that shows Superman's morality be tested, why he stands by what he stands by, and how he's the type of hero others are inspired by.
Yup. Sure its great seeing him occasionally tackle the biggest and baddest like Doomsday and Darksied but the Man of Steel is allowed to shine not because of his obvious physical strengths but the strength of his character and beliefs. Its why im pumped for James Gunns movie cuz it feels like itll have shades of this. But rather than freelance angry kids running around murdering people its the Lords of Law Above all Else pushing back against Freedoms with the Asshole Cop (Gardner), Alien from the Lawful Conquerer planet (Hawkgirl) and the worlds smartest man saying "For the Greater Good, Clark" (Mr. Terrific). Hope to add that movie with this one that just get his character.
Yeah check out creature commandos
The skull guy was in one of the other movies yall watched, justice league vs teen titans, and injustice in the injustice league.
