  1. There’s a pretty big plot hole in the movie, about Jack giving up the compass. He’s given away his compass to someone else in every movie

  2. I’m almost positive the next series is Star Wars cuz y’all mentioned it during the gumball episode which was filled with references ruff didn’t notice. But if it’s kingsman I’ll be even happier. Star Wars is more popular but I enjoyed kingsman so much more

  3. continuing to suggest Our Flag Means Death as a short series to react to! its about the Pirates Stede Bonnet (the Gentleman Pirate) and Blackbeard! its fun Pirate shinanagains with a sorta rom-com aspect to it. only 2 seasons so it wont take a long time!

  4. For all the issues this movie has, its ending is absolutely remarkable. The emotional pay-off of Will and Elizabeth’s reunion, bringing their scores back on top. I was really emotional when I first watched that ending.
Frankly, if the story of Jack, Will and Elizabeth ends here, I am more than happy.

  5. I’ve had a blast on these reactions with you guys. I do agree, it seems there was less focus on writing that first half. I managed to screenshot each of your guys’ shots ( one pic catching the dart mid air, and one showing the dart on the screen.) wish we could post pics on here 😂😎

  6. Im pretty sure Barbossa’s sword only works on the Queen Annes Revenge (Blackbeards ship) which they left to get onto Salazar’s ship earlier in the movie. When they are fighting, it is on the Black Pearl so the sword doesn’t work on that ship.

  7. They could’ve made Barbossa use the sword and still said “oh no, the ghost ship was still faster” and “it doesn’t work on the ghost ship” and/or “Barbossa never learned to use it very well”

  8. I love stories like this where “magic is removed from the world” because I find it to be so interesting in a weird way. It mirrors history and makes the legends real but in a way then explains how they no longer exist now if you took it as true. It is such a fascinating thing for fictional stories to do. They did it with the fountain of youth in the 4th movie too (however it was worse handled by just having the Spanish guy come in and destroy the fountain, and it was made pointless by this movie too because the fountain probably would have lost its properties after this movie) I think this movie handles that trope very well tho by having the staff be the grounding point for all curses.

  9. Also, William Turner’s Dad chose to stay on the ship. As he said in the movie, he chose to stay despite being freed by Will, as he wanted to stay with his son. You are the ones making complaints about lack of consistency here, when what you are pointing out, are by themselves not inconsistencies.

  10. Since you all loved DC’s red hood movie and with pirates of the Caribbean ending might I suggest this line up?
    Dc animated movie timeline
    Justice league War
    Justice league Doom
    Son of batman
    Batman vs Robin
    Justice league vs teen titans
    Justice league dark Apokolip War
This is a good timeline of animated movies

  11. The whole compass thing is a bit wonky because Tia Dulma/Calypso said that Jack got it from her. What i thought about though is maybe she gave it to Jacks former Captain and he passed it down to Jack which could still sorta work. As for him giving the compass away releases Salazar seems weird since hes given the compass to others before but when you look at it those situations are different. hes given others his compass to use but he always got it back plus it seems like he always expects to get it back in some way, while in this movie he was literally giving it away for rum as payment. Part of me is sad since that after credit scene got me so excited for another Pirates movie possibly bringing back Davy Jones who is my favorite villain but now the new one is a reboot. who knows though im still gonna check out the new movie when it comes out. Ive enjoyed this Pirate adventure with you guys and i cant wait for Lord of the Rings

    1. Yeah, in the second movie Dulma/Calypso straight up says Jack made a deal with her to get the compass to find the island from the first movie with the cursed Mayan gold (that’s how he knows the direction and gets mutinied when they get close after telling Barbossa the way). What his dying captain should have given him in this movie was his piece of 8 that they used to free Calypso. That is an item we knew should have been passed to him by someone but we did not and do not know who and when (possibly his father)(it was the coin hanging in front on his head scarf in the first 3 movies until he took it off near the end of the 3rd movie, in the 4th he replaced the coin with a little stone we never see him find or put there it just is there, in this movie he is given the beads that go in the head scarf and lead to the coin but it already has the stone when given to him). They should have made the piece of 8 the thing he was given and found a way to write it with that.

  12. The next franchise that you guys should react is Planet of the Apes (Andy Serkis) ones. If you haven’t seen them, you will love it!

  13. Don’t know if you noticed, but the compass at the end finally pointed north, not because Jack wanted something up north, but because the compass lost it’s power with the trident gone.

    1. Some people believe it is pointing to the horizon because that is all he wants now, like he has said his original dream was in the past, but I personally think this is the case, since the power was probably a curse and not some other magic, but maybe idk, but the other is still kinda true in what it means for Jack I think

  14. Blackbeard’s sword doesn’t control the Black Pearl, it only controls the Queen Anne’s Revenge (Blackbeard’s ship). So if you’re wondering why Barbossa didn’t use on the Black Pearl then this is why.

    1. It controls ships in general. Barbossa specifically said that he lost the Pearl because it magically turned against him and the ropes held him by his foot. That’s why he has 1 leg. He cut it off to escape.

    2. As I recall, Barbossa said that the the ropes of the pearl atacked his own crew and held him by the foot, not the Queens Anns Revenge.

  15. Something I don’t really like about this movie is it contradicts a lot of things from the previous movies like I’m pretty sure they said calypso lady gave Jack the compass, not some dying old guy ( I don’t remember tho), jack gave the compass away to a bunch of people in the older ones too and it didn’t release Salazar, and I could be miss remembering but the whole Davy Jones having fish things because he didn’t do his duty but will who has been doing it is growing barnacles thing is weird. Idk

    1. I don’t know about Calypso but I’m pretty sure jack never traded it for a drink to a random dude in the other four movies. It basically disrespected the compas unlike the others where he used other people wants to get what he want

    2. That’s why I never liked this movie, love the other 4 and will gladly watch Sorta Stupid watch this one.

In the second movie Calypso does ask why Jack came to ask here where the key is wondering why Jack isn’t just using the compass he bartered from her. That’s where we learned that if your don’t have a clear goal in mind the compass doesn’t work.

Not only did he just toss his compass to others, in the third when he gave it to Will and pushed him overboard Will could have lost it in the water or have it taken by Cutler Beckett, so there was a high change to permanently lose it and like you said it didn’t release Salazar. It could be argued that since Jack fully gives it away with no intent to get it back in this one is why it releases Salazar. But I feel like being careless with it with Will in the 3rd is a bigger disrespect to its meaning then giving it away, but either way relies on the change up on how he got it.

And my biggest grievance that set my disappointment for the whole movie is yes, the fish curse is ONLY because Davy Jones refused to do the job given to him by Calyps. Tia Dalma had a whole talk with Pintel and Ragetti about how Jones was a human man for his first 10 years of service but after their falling out he stopped doing his job as the ocean reaper and become man fish the fish man.

  16. Barbossa has been my favorite character since part 3 . He has the most character development (from villain to ally to hero ) and Geoffrey Rush did an absolutely fantastic job in that role .

  17. Early Jack Sparrow is actually in a book series that I read when I was a kid.  I don’t know how canon they are or remember if they are any good but there are 13 books in the series.  “Pirates of the Caribbean Jack Sparrow” is what the books are called.
