Fun fact! This movie's director, Dan Scanlon he also directed Monster's University. After the success of MU, Pixar allowed him to come up with his own story idea, so this movie is based off of his own family. If you look up sparks of inspiration on Disney+, you can find a whole video of him talking about his inspiration for the film. He based it off of his brother who he felt like was his father. It's a very touching behind the scenes story.
This movie hit me so hard cause I related to it but I related to Chris Pratt's character a lot. Im the oldest child and in the past have felt like a failure. It can be difficult to see your younger siblings avoid the mistakes you made and see things work out better for them but at the same time you're proud. Being an older sibling (at least for me) feels like you have so much weight on you on the time. You often feel like you have to sacrifice what you want for the good of your younger siblings and parents.
Man, knowing that the brothers were voiced by Chris Pratt, and Tom Holland, I suddenly can't help but picture Star Lord, and Spiderman talking with each other.
Peter and Peter
And now Alexi needs to watch up . . .
Whenever Erik and the other boys in the crew are ready and able, I would LOVE to see their genuine reaction to this movie. It hits SO MUCH harder when you know the regret, and oain of losing a loved onevtoo soon, or at all. I recently lost my father to cancer that left him pretty immobilized and not right in the head for many weeks. The last chance I heard him actually conversate back to me was weeks prior to his passing, it hurt a lot. But it put a lot of other things in perspective too. It sucks to lose someone, to feel you weren't better for them, or that they couldn't be better for you. I get it. I understand nothing feels right, there is a hole, that can't be filled again.
Edit: realized after writing Eric is right fing here. Oops
I'm glad that I only watched this once when it was in theaters, because now I get to rewatch it and not really remember anything
Which is crazy that I saw it in theaters, because apparently it released March 6 2020, so only a few weeks before COVID lockdown. I guess that explains why this movie gets talked about so little
Erik, you grew up with DVD players. How do you not know how to hit play, THEN rewind?
Because he's caboose from RvB and relies on AI for everything now lol
This is probably my favorite Pixar movie. Loved the reaction, and it was funny/interesting/??? to hear Eric call Ruff by name.
I remember Chris Pratt mentioned this on Ellen about this movie, and he said that this movie is basically a love note from the director to his brother because the brother went through the same thing; the father died when they were the brothers were very young. They had each other, and audio clips of their father.
i love that tom holland and chris pratt are doing like cartoon animation shows and so are other people and i loove itttt
Absolutely most underrated Pixar film of time that ending will always get me 🥺🥺love this movie so much it's definitely one of my faves for sure 💯❤️
This movie absolutely broke me, I connected with Barley so much. After my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer I spent 2 years taking care of her, and when she passed in 2013, I didn't get to say goodbye. Family had come to visit, they went to the hospital to see her, but I was a little sick and thought I'd get her sick and she wouldn't survive it... anyway, about an hour after they left to visit her my aunt called to tell me if I wanted to say goodbye now was the time. I rushed to the hospital (didn't even have my license yet) crying the whole drive but I was too late, she had died maybe five minutes before I got there. I was 22 at the time, so I have plenty of memories of her, but if I had the chance to bring her back even for one day, yeah, I would absolutely go on a crazy quest like this.
Watching the crew cry at the end made me laugh and cry so much omg lol I think I replayed that scream about 6 times 🤣
All I need is the bottom half😉
Pedro blanket!!!
As an older brother that had to raise his siblings for the most part, AND as a huge dnd nerd, this is one of my favorite movies of all time! I'm hyped.
