II mean, Zack Snyder put Batman with a gun in live-action if you want to check out his 3-part DCEU (excluding Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman since they don't add to the story really). I'm just saying. And this would include Man of Steel, the 3-hour Ultimate Edition of Batman versus Superman, and Zack Snyder's 4-hour cut of Justice League.

Wow! You guys want to read the Flashpoint universe comics? Why do you want to torture yourselves? When I first read these comics I wanted to get out of this world as fast as possible!

The lighter skinned aqualad is named Garth, in the comics he's a founding member of the Teen Titans and as he grows up he takes on a new name "Tempest" similar to how Robin becomes Nightwing. The darker skinned aqualad is named Caldur, he was created for the Young Justice tv show but he does have a comics counterpart based off of him named "jackson hyde"

That universe begins with justice league war followed by justice league throne of atlantis. I can't wait for you guys to start that off. And you should totally check out young justice if you haven't already. A largely entertaining time.

Technically speaking I know asasault on Arkham and Superman Vs. the Elite are not DCAU movies. Assault on Arkham is in the Arkham games universe and Sperman Vs The Elite is its own thing

There's two Aqualads. Garth is the white aqualad who later became Tempest. The black Aqualad's name is Kaldur'ahm and he's the son of Black Manta on of Aquaman's main villians.

Also since you guys are going down the DC rabbit hole, I honestly recommend giving Batman Brave and the Bold a shot. Even if you just do a once off at first to see if you're into it. It's a show that brings in tons of DC heroes and villains, many that don't get any media otherwise. And if you need something to sweeten the deal, Plastic Man gets a few episodes teamed up with Batman.

In case you guys were wondering what Thomas Wayne wrote in the letter to Bruce:

This is What Batman’s Father Wrote to Him, and What We Can Learn from It.

The intriguing world of comic books often mirrors real life, illuminating the complex struggle between good and evil, choice and fate, and love and loss. The enduring appeal of these stories lies in the deeply human insights they impart, revealed through their fantastic narratives and larger-than-life characters. A potent example of this can be found in the poignant message from Thomas Wayne, a version of Batman in the DC Comics miniseries “Flashpoint.” The letter he writes to his son, Bruce Wayne, encapsulates the essence of life’s trials, the power of choice, the importance of moving forward, and the enduring hope for a happier future. This article delves into Thomas Wayne’s message to illuminate how it can serve as a guiding beacon for our lives, urging us to consciously shape our paths, overcome personal tragedies, and strive toward happiness.

      Thomas Wayne as Batman

In the comic book miniseries “Flashpoint” by DC Comics, the character Batman is portrayed as Thomas Wayne, the father of Bruce Wayne. In the alternate reality of “Flashpoint,” Bruce Wayne’s parents were not shot by a mugger, and Bruce Wayne did not become Batman. Instead, Bruce was shot and killed, resulting in Thomas Wayne becoming Batman after the murder of his son, Bruce. He is a much darker and more violent version of Batman than his son would have become. He ultimately sacrifices himself to help The Flash restore the original timeline, resulting in the death of Thomas Wayne as Batman.

      Original Timeline

Before his death, Thomas Wayne wrote a letter to his son, Bruce, and had the Flash deliver it to his son when the Flash returned to his original timeline. Flashpoint Beyond issue number 6 then reveals the full message Bruce’s father sent him. It reads:

      Dear son,

There’s only one thing I know about life. I know some things happen by chance. And some things happen because we make them happen. Barry Allen was once haunted by the past. But when he became the Flash, he left the ghosts behind. He found love, a family. And for the first time ever…friends. Barry thought yesterday was behind him…but somebody wouldn’t let him escape it.

When Barry came to me for help, I turned him away. I’m not the hero of this story. I’m a man who’s been corrupted by his own unbearable pain. I’m a man who has too much blood on his hands to be called good. Your friend taught me we can’t only live a life for those we’ve lost. We have to live a life for those we still have.

If I got a second chance, I would hope I’d come to understand that. To live that…like you should, Bruce. That’s all parents want for their children. What we never had. Your mother and I want you to be happy. Promise me you’ll try. And I will too…wherever I am.

      Love always,

      your father — Thomas.

you all should also watch the live-action movies of the DCEU as much love and hate they get depending on who you ask they are great takes on each character. some movies are better than others and some are masterpieces... the Snyder cut Justice League has one of the most mind-blowing CGI and story beats, worth the watch, I'd also say that the animated movies and young justice that you are watching don't get talked about because they are animated but those who know know. and more people think of comic media and marvel mc. but I believe DC comics have far superior story and writing for stuff like flashpoint

So just a little fun fact, but the rhyming demon named etrigan, is raven's nephew from the comics. it's not really acknowledged in the movies or cartoons, and it's a fairly recent change they made, since 2011, but I always thought it was cool that they decided to make them related.

No, Thomas Wayne saved Barry not the world, the world was pretty much over once that atomic nuke went off, so again Batman shouldn't have guns.

Are you fucking serious? You really need this explained to you? Thomas saved the world by saving Barry. Thomas shot Thawne, giving Barry control of the speed force, allowing him to go back in time to save the world. So again Batman SHOULD have guns.

“Idk when that continuity starts”This movie is literally the beginning of said continuity😂😂 Flashpoint Paradox was meant to be the end of the previous “DC Universe of Animated Movies” and the beginning of the “DCAMU(DC Animated Movie Universe).” Keep in mind Barry & Bruce’s suits, when Barry undid Flashpoint, the universe that we saw at the beginning of the film is not the one that he returned to, things are slightly different, and this is what leads to the next movies. There’s also a post credit scene in this movie that yall missed that leads directly into the next film.

The new 52 is the name of this new universe created as a result of Flashpoint. that means slightly changed origin stories and not new but unusual characters are introduced. several have POST-CREDIT scenes, this movie also had it, you missed it. Also if you can watch Batman: Assault on Arkham, before the Suicide Squad arrives, they are not related but you will appreciate it better.

That villain team the justice league saved at the start were a version of The Rogues. They are probably the best villain team of all time. just a group of best buds who hang out, pull heists and try to catch the flash off guard to pull off the heists. they don't even really hate the flash or anything, he's just the local cop. They don't even go out of their way to kill people and actively try not too, they JUST rob places. when a Rogue dies they all agree to do one massive heist dressed as the dead one in their honor. sometimes they help the flash against bigger villains who they think is going too far. sometimes they just hang out with the flash at a bar or play poker with him when one of their guys are too sick for a scheduled heist. Hell, when one of them got diagnosed with cancer he TOLD THE FLASH and said "I hope you understand" AND THEN THE FLASH SAID HE WOULD HELP PAY FOR HIS TREATMENT. They are the chillest gang of all time and they are just the best vibe.

  38. DJSkywalker
    17 days

Just so you guys know, the DCAMU movies that start with Flashpoint I'm pretty sure all have after credit scenes that give you a hint to the next movie.

  39. Ashes2Ash
    17 days

Like someone else mentioned, BOTH Aqualad's you guys know are in this movie, along with Tula (the girl on Aquaman's side). The one with black hair who's doing aquakinesis is Garth, the original Aqualad, while Kaldur, best known for his (basically) introduction in the Young Justice cartoon, is the other Aqualad. Kaldur was originally created to be introduced in Young Justice, but Geoff Johns featured his version of Kaldur just a few months earlier than the first episodes airing.

Flashpoint is such a wild movie, and I do enjoy it, but I can see why people don't really talk about the DCAMU. There are some movies from the roster that I enjoy, but I personally don't like some of the plot lines they took and the choices they made in the long run. I still look forward to seeing y'alls reactions, especially once you reach Reign of the Supermen and the Constantine movies!

The lore for reverse flash is ridiculous. He's from the future originally as a Fan of the flash. He finds out that apparently he's the one who is the flashs greatest nemesis. So he recreated the accident that created the flash and gained speed force powers which he then used to mess up his own life, turning himself into a villain and then proceeded to time travel all the way back in time to mess with the flash in many messed up ways. From killing Flashs mother and pinning the blame on his father, to literally phasing his best and only friend out of existence while the two of them were like 10

If I remember right he recreated the experiment because he wanted to be just like the Flash? He didn't know he was Flash's main villain. But the experiment went wrong and sort of like. warped his adoration (I believe in one varient its like. a romantic obsession) of Flash into wanting Barry to suffer and die, even at the cost of his own life.

So Fun Fact: When the Flashpoint Event happened in the comics and the timeline was reset, there were a bunch of changes made to the world of DC and it's characters in what was called the New 52. One of those changes was that Cyborg replaced Martian Man Hunter as a founding member of the Justice League.
