talking DC one offs, I do love V for Vendetta which was a comic also made by Vertigo like Constatine (Vertigo being a British comic company owned by DC), Lucifer is also a Vertigo comic and a fantastic show! Preacher I've never watched but heard it was good and The Sandman is also suppose to be an amazing DC/Vertigo show.

Constantine is so good. It's a shame it didn't do well. It's great even as a stand alone movie doesn't even seem like a DC movie. Even from a DC standpoint it's different for the character but it's a good take.

Thats actualy a myth, that the Council of Nicea voted to leave books in or out of the bible. The new testament was mostly formed by the end of the first century, long before Emperor Constantine called everyone together to sort out the tenets of what would become Catholocism. The main purpose of the Council was to coordinate holy days and determine if Jesus and God were one and the same or not. There was a scisim forming at the time because some thought Jesus was God's son but not God himself. The "Lost Books", as the've been popularly called nowadays, were never being considered in the first place. The idea that the Catholic church voted to not include these books has been popularized in mordern times by sensationalist media trying to ride the wave of conspiracies about the Church, the Free Masons, the Knights Templar etc. Remember the DaVinci Code? I remember learning about the "Lost Books" myself from the history channel back when they actually had documentaries 20 years ago. But in actual history they knew that these extra books had been written by a cult leaders and guys writing fiction about Jesus and the apostles.

Y’all should watch the Constantine show, this feels blasphemous to say but Matt Ryan is an infinitely better Constantine than Keanu Reeves. He is like RDJ as Tony Stark or Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, a more perfect match doesn’t exist.
