Yeah, I don't get why they cut out Sokka being sexist yet still made Pakku sexist.

Imagine knowing that a man went through losing his only son. Then killing his nephew, the only other son figure that he has; putting him through the same pain all over again. Zhao is such a piece of shit.

Seeing everything they crammed into ep 5, I felt like they dont have a plan for the next books. And its not just the owl, Azula, mai and Ty Lee shouldnt even be in book 1 because Zhao is supposed to be the big bad of book 1. Book 2 is Azula and Book 3 is Ozai. I get changing stuff but the world unanimously agreed that the live action Last of Us was amazing as an adaptation. And I remember hearing their "philosophy" while making it was "If its better than the original, we do it. If its worse, we stick to the original." Is making Bumi senile instead of a mad genius better? Is putting Gyatso in the spirit world better? Is making Azula desperate for daddies attention better? Is humanizing Zuko now better than later in book 2? I don't want a 1-to-1 adaptation. Seeing Sozin's comet was awesome. Kiyoshi in action was spectacular. BUT the only reason they were better was because they weren't in the tv show. Bumi was crazy as a kid, which means as an old man, his crazy was a comfort to Aang. The spirit world isn't heaven, you don't just go their when you die. Azula is little miss perfect with nothing to prove. The idea that she would ever be threatened by Zuko proves to me that these writers don't know what their doing. Im sorry to be a downer but you can't tell me I'm wrong. How has Aang talked to 3 avatars and none of them have mentioned dying in the avatar state breaks the cycle or how Sozin's comet well return in less than a year. Those are the 2 biggest motivations in the show and they haven't even been alluded to.

I feel like the 2010 movie was the Ember Island Play version of the show.

Kuruk's story is straight from the Kyoshi novels! Every spirit he killed chipped away at his soul, and the entire world thought he was just absent. Great read for sure

The complaint that the monks fought back doesn’t even make sense in the context of the original show. In the cartoon, Gyatso’s skeleton is surrounded by dead Fire Nation soldiers. They didn’t kill themselves.

16:59 alright hear me out. I’m in traffic. I get out of my car and walk to the front of the line of cars. I burn the driver alive, pull the charred body out of the car, hop in and drive

Katara healed herself instinctually when she was accidentally burned by Aang. It was the first time she did it too. Imagine the level of restoration a master waterbender could achieve, perhaps immortality if they get god-like at it. Seeohknee is spot on!

ok... Pakku sending katara to healing class was way more insulting in the original. in that she was already an amazing healer and was put in a class of beginners. In this show we have not seen her heal anyone and she is given 1-1 meetings with a master healer. He was still a sexist jackass when confronted but she probably should learn a little healing for strategic purposes alone.
