Pretty sure there's at least 3 volumes left
I assume 2 in vacuo and 1 final volume back in Beacon where everything comes full circle

I also have heard that 12 is how many there were "supposed to be", but it is unclear if all 12 will be made with RWBY in its current state. It seems we will almost certainly get V10, but the fate of V11 and V12 currently is only speculated about and nothing official has been said.

Yeah I remember hearing the number 12 floated about as the total number of seasons even before V8 released, though I can't place where

30:33 "At least it wasn't Warner Brothers", well, they didn't want it, otherwise they wouldn't have had Rooster Teeth sell it (unless I'm missing some legal info)

So you guys are to a point where some added context will be useful. This info is in fact canon but was never outright stated in the show, it was brought up during a Comic Con panel after the season finished, and that is Ironwoods Semblance: “Mettle”.
Basically to sum it up, Mettle is a passive Semblance like Qrows. It’s always active, always there, and can not be controlled. When Ironwood sets a goal for himself, Mettle allows/forces him to remove more and more of his emotions/human side from the equation until he has achieved his goal. If the only solution to a problem is an unethical one, Mettle makes it so he doesn’t care about the unethical parts.
It plays in to Ironwoods role as the “Tin Man” in RWBYs Wizard of Oz group.

"At least it wasn't Warner Bros".
Warner Bros owned Rooster Teeth. They're the reason Rooster Teeth shit down.

Personally I never heard anything about v10 being the end of RWBY but the reason v9 was so much shorter is because the CRWBY was already facing time crunch and budget issues behind the scenes and from what I heard the post-v9 animatic they put out was originally intended to be part of v9 but they didn’t get that far in production
I will say whenever RWBY does come back it’s hard for me to imagine the entire Vacuo arc being covered in just one volume since every other kingdom was given multiple volumes plus it feels like there’s still so much to see
I’d like to think Viz will be a good home for RWBY and that they can carry the franchise through to completion including any potential spin-offs and games

Realistically it would even make the most sense to have as much as 12 Volumes total, considering all major arcs span over 3 Volumes each.

RWBYxJustice League is basically canon divergent. Some aspects of it definitely are canon to the story of RWBY, but most of it is basically “what would happen if we had the Justice League universe and RWBY universe collided”. As far as I know from VIZ, I believe they are in discussions with CRWBY to carry out and finish the story. Fingers crossed.

I really want to know where people got the idea that Volume 10 was/is going to be the last volume… I haven’t been able to find any official mention of that. I very, very highly doubt it will be the last. It’s definitely winding down now, I just don’t see them wrapping the whole thing up in at most 14 episodes, that sounds ridiculous. I’d say Volume 11 or 12 will be the last if Volume 10 does as well as the others with Viz Media.

It's because nothing official has been released concerning the fate of RWBY. At this point it seems certain we will get V10, but nothing regarding the future of RWBY beyond that has been released. Now, that doesn't mean we definitely *aren't* getting V11 and beyond, but just that there is only speculation.

That’s true, it’s speculation, but I’ve seen people across the internet act like it’s 100% over after V10… that makes no sense to me. That’s why I was searching for any official details and didn’t find any. I very highly doubt Viz bought RWBY just to have it… and not do a V10. What comes after that, maybe nothing but I also doubt that as well. Guess we’ll see though.

Lol I just typed up a whole commend about this too. Not sure where the rumor came from but Beacon Arc, Haven Arc, and Atlas Arc were all at least 2 volumes if you count v4 as the journey to Haven so it’s a little hard for me to imagine the Shade Arc being wrapped up in one let alone the whole story
I personally believe RWBY will end with us back at Beacon coming full circle which definitely wouldnt happen in v10
