24:22 Ruff, I don't hold it against you for thinking this Supes wasn't born and raised on earth, but he was. He's just a pretentious asshole. Superman is like when someone does 23 and Me, and finds out they're part Italian. So then they study up and starts telling EVERYBODY about the history and culture of Italy. It happened in the Man of Steel movie, when Lois calls is emblem an 'S'. Then after clicking his tongue in annoyance, he says ''It's not an S........On my world it means hope'' Cavil delivered the line with such indignation, considering the character had only known what it actually meant for a few hours.

Also, if you are going to watch Ben Affleck's Batman, then you need to watch Man of Steel, the Ultimate Edition of Batman versus Superman, and Zack Snyder's 4-hour cut of Justice League, and ion that order to get the full story.

The live action Batman movies are a MUST. - Batman 1989 (Classic)

    - Batman RETURNS 1992 (Sequel to ‘89 one)

    - Batman Forever 1995 (Definitely not the best but I would say it’s worth to watch)

    - Batman And Robin 1997 (Worst Batman movie 😂😂 but it has its moments)

The Dark Knight Christopher Nolan trilogy

    - Batman Begins 2005

    - The Dark Knight 2008 (Best film of all time)

    - The Dark Knight Rises 2012

    Ben Affleck’s Batman

    - Batman Vs Superman

    - The Batman 2022 (Robert Pattinson)

It’s great to see you guys react to the DC universe in general and getting to know these characters. DCAMU has really nice movies, can’t wait for you guys to watch The Son Of Batman and the other ones. Also you should watch these animated DC movies- Justice League Crisis on Two Earths (a PREQUEL to Justice League Doom)

    - Superman/Batman Public enemies

    - Superman/Batman Apocalypse

    - Batman Assault On Arkham (Movie that takes place in the Arkham verse or Arkham games)

Just some extra info to add to this. It's titled Batman: Assault on Arkham, but there is very little Batman. It should have been marketed as a Suicide Squad movie, 'cause that's definitely what it was. Nobody really liked the first live action (I didn't like either) Suicide Squad movie, but it's so much worse when you have Assault on Arkham to compare it to. There's also an animated Suicide Squad (Hell to Pay) movie that is part of the DCAU continuity. I won't spoil anything with my opinion of it, just know that it's out there, and separate from Assault on Arkham. That is all

Technically speaking, the Teen Titans show takes place beforw the New 52 was made, so Cyborg had his original origin story, where he was in a freak accident and his scientist dad rebuilt him, kinda like this one, but no alien tech. This movie and the last one are the start of the New 52, so the alien tech is New 52 storyline. They added it to make his abilities morw realistic lol

Everything DC is very complicated cuz there's so much, animated and live action, most of which really only revolving around Batman as that's their Number 1 money maker, so it's hard to start anywhere with anything with no comic knowledge.

I'm excited for this new universe based series, stay on track with it, but jumping back to some older movies around the "Under the Red Hood/JL: Doom" years would still me nice.

    - First, Batman/Superman: Public Enemy HAS to be on your watch, it's a great buddy team-up where President Lex Luthor (yes) declares them enemies and Superheroes and Supervillains alike try to take them down.

    - Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths is what Doom followed, but it didn't hurt to watch out of order. It's one of the best without giving spoilers.

    - Ruff wants some cool Superman stories, All-Star Superman is a fantastic movie for that!

    - For some character origins, the Wonder Woman and Green Lantern: First Flight movies are decent origin stories, though not canon to this upcoming universe, but worth watching just to grasp the general concept as their origins don't change to drastically usually just like Batman's parents being shot and Superman growing up on Earth after Krypton explodes.

    - I'm a big fan of New Frontier as it's Justice League origin story but set in the 60's like it was retelling the original, but you kinda have to appreciate the throwbacks.

As for the live action, you could start '89-90's Batman if you want, some don't hold up, a return to the Dark Knight trilogy is always great (it's hot on Youtube right now), and the new The Batman is fantastic! Shazam is also a great movie to watch that stands alone pretty well outside the DCEU while the rest of the DCEU (Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman, etc) aren't well received but a rabbit hole is a hole to fall into. I think Man of Steel is fine, I liked Wonder Woman, and like I said Shazam is top tier and Black Adam isn't half bad. Green Lantern if just for the lolz would be hilarious if not cringe, just to see how bad it is.

High Light Notes and Fun Facts:

    - Fun Fact: back when "the team" first came together in the 60's, they weren't all for it. Batman and Superman actually HATED the idea and refused to join the team right out the gate. The first several comics didn't heavily feature them, mostly Wonder Woman, GL, Flash, Aquaman and Martian. Green Arrow was actually brought on quickly after to fill the gadget/tactician role of Batman lol

    - While I can't say Wonder Woman has always been able to fly, it has been a standard for at least 70 years, but she's usually depicted as not a "fast flier" by comparison to other Justice League members, hence her Jet for extended journeys and faster travel around the world, or even going to places she can't breath in.

    - Flash and Green Lantern are almost always depicted as knowing each other pre-Justice League in most-to-all versions of their stories, like Batman and Superman (obviously not this version lol). Green Arrow and Green Lantern usually do, as well, typically leading the three forming their own dynamic team-ups.

    - Shazam is usually always just one kid, Billy Batson. That parallel universe where all 6 kids were Shazam is not common, though very cool, and probably could be what happens in the character's later story arc.

    - Bizarro (Bizarro Superman) I think has an official origin, but many media and comic reboots have given him alternate creation origins so you could be right Eric.

Diana is from Earth. Her social skills aren’t good because she’s from a secret, isolated island civilization that still worships the Greek gods. It’s also a society of women only. They don’t reproduce. The original Amazonians were sculpted from clay and brought to life by the goddess Aphrodite. They don’t reproduce. They’re immortal. Then they rebooted the comics and made it so that they do reproduce….in a disturbing way. Three times a century they’ll raid ships sailing in their waters, rape the crew until conception and then kill them to keep their civilization secret. Nine months later the girls are celebrated and the boys are…..drowned. Eventually it’s revealed that one the boys that were thrown into the sea survived: Hephaestus. He makes a deal with the amazons. He gives them weapons, they give him their infant boys. In this version, the younger generation, including Diana, is unaware of any of this. They’ve been told that the lack of male babies is “divine will.” The entire revamped origin story for Diana is her realizing that this perfect society she was raised in is in fact just as corrupt as the world of man. Like being raised Mormon or Jehovah’s Witness.

The DCAMU is a reboot by DC comics to modernize its superheroes.

It all started with 'Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox,' where The Flash changes the timeline, creating the New 52 universe. These movies follow a connected storyline, unlike the older, stand-alone films.

The first movie helps explain why things are different in JLW. Batman(Bruce Wayne) is there because he didn't die that night, his Dad does(like in every DC Batman comic). Even though The Flash changed the timeline back to the way it was, he didn't stop the other outcome that would happen. It just made a much BIGGER problem for their world.

Here's a list for the MOVIES IN ORDER:

    1. Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (2013)

    2. Justice League: War (2014)

    3. Son of Batman (2014)

    4. Justice League: Throne of Atlantis (2015)

    5. Nightwing and Robin (2015) [45-SEC SHORT FILM)

    6. Batman vs. Robin (2015)

    8. Justice League vs. Teen Titans (2016)

    9. Justice League Dark (2017)

    10. Teen Titans: The Judas Contract (2017)

    11. Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay (2018)

    12. The Death of Superman (2018)

FYI the reason Superman is like this in the movie is because these movies are based on the New 52 Line of comics(Aug 2011-May 2016) which were originally meant to be a reboot of the comics. They made Superman be kind of an asshole sometimes because they wanted him to transition into being the standard superman. He was still on earth as a baby. The New 52 had a few good things but I heard a lot of people really hated the bad parts.

BTW during that time a lot of DC shows would randomly reference the number 52. Young justice did it in episode 1

If you guys wanna react to more live action movies, i definitely recommend the first Shazam movie. I havent seen the sequels so i cant give my opinions on them, but the first one is so fun and does a really good job showing off Billy and his whole schtick.

But if you guys wanna talk about nerfed characters... Shazam definitely is one. His original comics name was Captain Marvel, and his codeword for turning into his hero form was Shazam. However, Marvel later copyrighted the name Captain Marvel for their character, and they ended up changing his name to Shazam, which makes things... a little complicated. Because every time he says his name, he is supposed to transform.

Shazam/Marvel is supposed to have the powers of Greek Gods and Heroes. Here, he's given flight, slight invulnerability, and lightning powers. In the comics, Billy has literally one weakness in his hero form: Magic. That's it. Superman is weak to Magic and Kryptonite, while Billy is only weak to one of those. Shazam usually is nerfed significantly not only because people think he's just a dumb kid, but also because he is technically stronger than a lot of heroes, including, on ocassion, Superman.

Billy is both a kid and not in his hero form. He is very smart, very strong, and very fast. Unfortunately... that doesn't really get shown off at ALL in all the digital media he's featured in. It's a shame.

Also Also, The Long Halloween's part 1 and 2 are part of I believe the tomorrowverse? The animated universe after this one. They can technically be viewed on their own, especially because its just a specific backstory from Batman's past, and it is one of my favorite duologies of the animated movies! Hope to see you guys react to it if you do!

If you're starting 'from the beginning' with DC live action, you should absolutely start with the Christopher Reeves Superman movies - it will make for quite the journey to look back at when you get to the current stuff (Superman 3 and 4 can be skipped to go straight to the first Tim Burton / Michael Keaton / Jack Nicholson Batman if you want to speed run and stick to good stuff, but they are an *experience* if you're game for them, same with Batman 3 and 4, come to think of it).

I'll be honest, I prefer the stand-alone DC animated movies like Under the Red Hood and The Dark Knight Returns adaptation, but this DCAMU (or whatever the acronym is) is still a lot of fun. This is also great to have going at the same time as Young Justice - that show has a ton of references to broader DC lore, and I bet you'll recognize a lot of them (insert Leonardo DiCaprio pointing meme here) from these movies. Great thing about YJ is that you don't need to know the ins and outs of the DC universe to follow the story, but the Easter Eggs add some additional enjoyment.
