I definitely do not hate the 3rd or 4rth season they have some of my favorite things in the show

I'd say the reason seasons 3 and 4 are hated is because they miraculously got a continuation and instead of wrapping things up, they kept on building stuff up with no real progress, just up and up, miraculously AGAIN got a fourth season... And kept building... And instead of getting the ending people had been hoping for for years and years, we got stagnation. And I doubt we'll get a third miracle.

It's funny.  Y'all said the two things that created the dip in sales but just didn't see the connection.  Point 1: The show had a large female audience.  Point 2:  Sales were plummeting.    Connection:  The toy market was marketing toys for boys, actions figures full of camo, dark colors, in boys sections of stores, and clothes and etc, while ignoring a huge part of their market.  The rare times girls DID get merch, it would be a super pink cutesy wonder girl shirt, or a batgirl chibi jacket.   Meanwhile boys toys focused on bat family, super family, with little on aqualad, m'gann, and the many characters we liked, and not many artemis merch, m'gann, huntress, her sister or etc.   There are many shows like "The Toys that Made Us", on Netflix, that help show how the boy toys and girl toys world were very thickly divided for decades.  It STILL is a big problem.  The thing is, this show isn't written for "boys".   This show is written for people who like deep arcs, stories, emotional connections, very deep topics you'll see in seasons 3 and 4.   So this show had to be scrapped for "gogo titans", the true market for the people funding this show.   The merch for this show should've been for 14-40+ year olds.   The stuff you see for like Star Trek, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Anime and so on.

As someone who was a staunch defender of season 3 and 4 when they first came out, there are a lot of problems with it. Some are understandable concessions brought on by budget cuts from no longer having the money Cartoon Network poured into it....but problems people had with season 2 got transferred over to 3 and 4 because it became more apparent. Context was missing in tie in comics that bridged seasons and a few other points I won't go over because of spoilers (badum tss. Ifykyk).

Hey a good person to talk to about moving from having a comic project to an animated one might be Will Wight, a Florida writer. He recently crowdfunded animating a book series, pulled the director of the avatar animated series and should be working on an animatic? for the first book now.

Im going to say this rn, as someone who agrees with your sentements about 90% of the time, and as a fan of this show that watched every bit of it as it was airing, season 3 is probably the weakest season of the 4 we have, but by no means is it bad, its still great.

The weakest season of an amazing show is still likely to be quite a great season, the bar is just real high

When the toys came out they were not good In my opinion.  They looked to cheap so I never bothered to buy any of them. As for season 3 they had characters I didn't care about. Even after finishing the season.

I don't think season three was bad at all, people were mad about characters being gay or whatever stupid horseshit. It was and is more blatantly "woke" in 3/4 so people mad.

Hi! As someone who was teen when this aired, it wasn’t late at night, it was at 9:30 am EST so most teens would be asleep, and we loved this season it’s just since we were teens (13/17) we couldn’t afford the toys and our parents though we were too old for them. I was lucky for my 13th my parents got me the speedy toy, but ones the toys we’re horrendous, look you “robin young justice toy” and try not to throw up

Season 3 was the worst season but I wouldn't call it bad.  Worth the watch to me.  I think Season 4 is good, but doesn't compare to season 2.  I also think 4th is worse than 1st on average on pure story and cohesiveness, but there are some stories in 4 that I am really happy they did, so it has a special place in my heart.

I'm sure there's a bunch of other people saying it too but season 3 us not horrible. It is probably the weakest compared to the other 4 bur it is nowhere near bad. And you all will definitely love it. There are certain parts where I can see you questioning how ppl thought it was bad too. Definitely don't stop watching cause it is a banger all the same.

I’m gonna throw in another voice advocating for season 3. This isnt a perfect show but it doesnt really need to be, i love this show and would watch more of it in a heartbeat, and the highs this show reaches i think should give it some grace for the clunkier moments. I certainly wouldnt let vocal negativity impact your openness to the show, season 4 also has split opinions but i think has some of the best sequences in the show, period. And you guys are no strangers to watching things that got mixed to negative reception, steven universe future, legend of korra, the star wars prequels…so i’d say let it ride

I just re-watched season 3 over the last week, and I will say it is definitely the worst of the 4 seasons but imo besides a run of episodes in the front half of the show it isn't overall that bad.

Episode 16 is my favorite  episode of this season. I just love how the characters act based on the information that they have and change when they learn  new information

Easily my favorite reactions you guys are doing right now. Glad you guys have gotten so into DC.

I wanted to comment to give you guys hope on Season 3. I like season 3. It's my least favorite of the show, but it is still good. Its format is a little more decompressed than previous seasons most likely because it was coming out via streaming where multiple episodes were released at once instead of one episode weekly. I don't want to mention too much other differences as to avoid spoilers, but just know that it will still be worth watching.

I feel like Young Justice is like RWBY in that there are haters who’ll say to stop watching after a certain point because the show feels different, but I still have fun all the way through. The only real issue is that YJ is always adding more characters, which helps fill out the world, but some fans feel like they steal the show when they really want to focus on the OG team we’ve grown to love from season 1. Personally, I think they have strong writing all the way through.

The writing is somewhat fine, it's that they keep hinting at storylines that they proceed to never continue

Hey heres a fun fact, the showrunner of all 4 seasons confirmed they had up until season 7 completely planned out, with ideas to get up to 10 seasons, so those hinted at storylines very likely have plans for them when we get more seasons

Here's my two cents on the whole merch situation. I actually watched the show when it was airing, or at least i tried to because it was almost never airing at a time that was convenient for me(Thank god for piracy or I wouldn't've been able to watch the show in order for years to come), and I'd never seen any sort of advertisement for the toys. I didn't even know there were toys until i watched a video explaining why  the show got cancelled.I did enjoy season 3 and 4 though.

I actually really like season 3, I'm not sure what it was that everybody didn't like. I think it might just be because season 2 was so good and season 3 just wasn't as good as 2.

It was because they ignored the original cast and focused on very small characters with zero build-up, so it was a turn-off for many people. (There's also a few storylines and cliffhangers that never got answered or continued)

I wouldn’t say it’s unanimous that people don’t like the next season, it has its problems and people don’t like it as much as season 1 and 2 but most of the actual young justice community still does like it

The people that aggressively hate it are a very vocal minority

No, it is very much a majority of people did not like the 3rd season(I would say that maybe comic fans liked it, but the fans who only know the show by large margin do not)

Season 3 is a good season. it's not as good as seasons 1,2 & 4. but its not bad by any means, it is different though. I think the hype of it's return made people have ridiculously high expectations. Which might be why season 4 is thought of better, because of the lower expectations.
