I kinda have an idea as to where the next season might go and I'm SO excited for it. I love EVERYTHING about this show. It really couldn't be more of a perfect re-make, in my opinion. I love the timeline switch up, I love the nods to the og anime, and I love the more in-depth lore we're getting.  It's so fascinating! I definitely love it more than the og anime, but that's as someone who didn't watch it growing up, so I didn't have any nostalgia for it when I finally watched it. They're both good, but in very different ways.

Trigun stampede more like trigun stop making me cry so damn HARD. I could say a million gajillion things about this show, like what it means that the independents present male and the dependents present female(CRAZY!!),  how Vash and Knives were likely originally a single being, which is why they each have one wing on either side, they each have half a plants powers, etc, but were possibly split as a result of what happened to Tesla, separated so they could look after each other, god, then like the symbolism of the eye of tesla in Knives well.. knives, in episode 3, but i'll contain myself aside from those bits UYGFBu. This is a show that manages to get even better on rewatches, so many details that you only understand after watching the whole season. Its such a fun time. ANd like, yea sure theres issues, Trigun will never have a perfect adaptation lets be real LMAO but there is just so much good, so much potential in this series, and you can jsut tell how much the peiple who worked on care about it and the passion that went into it. It makes my art loving heart soar. ANyeays,  Heres to a hopefully not super far away season 2 ? thanks a ton for the blast of a reaction, maybe you can make the others watch the original lolll

Took me way too long to come back to this but Im so happy I finished watching your reactions to this series it was awesome. I had never heard of Trigun before Stampede came out but while it was being released a friend of mine was gushing about how much they were loving it so I decided I'd check it out but accidently stumbled on the original instead first. Honestly I've loved both shows (havent taken the plunge to check out the manga tho but its on my list) and cant wait for season 2 (which has been confirmed but as far as I know has no timeline on release, sad days)

You ARE the joy and thanks again for these reactions!

    Fun facts time!

So. The Stampede adaptation decided to do weird stuff with the timeline in hopes of the story feeling familiar and also new! So if you remember in the original Trigun anime, Vash is the 60 billion double dollar man, specifically for his destruction of July (dubbed the "Lost July"). Stampede decided to start BEFORE July fell, but still introduce us to the usual cast. So we get to see HOW he became wanted for that much money.

What also makes this timeline weird is that in the original Trigun, the destruction of July happened QUITE SOME TIME before where the story started in the anime. (Another difference between the manga and original anime is pretty much EVERYONE in July died. In the original anime, Vash just destroyed the city, and the only people who died was afterwards due to starvation and other means.)

Another cute little fun fact is that July 21st (the twins bday in Stampede) was actually a fan made birthday! In canon they never had an actual date stated, and the fans specifically chose July 21st due to it being the day July was destroyed. Which. If you'll notice, when it cuts forward two years towards the end of episode 12, the radio host even says JuLai was destroyed on July 21st. Meaning Knives caused all those peoples deaths on their BIRTHDAY...

Small thing about Tessla (the other independent who was. dissected). She was only ever in the manga, and Knives and Vash actually fully read ALL the documentation on her. Including each experiment and brutal detail. Rem wasn't one of the scientists, but DID kinda stand by and let it happen because there wasn't anything she could do. If you didn't notice, Tessla, despite being in pieces and being a big mush pile, was STILL ALIVE...

I cannot WAIT for season 2 and hope its even better than this one. I have my gripes about story changes but im holding out hope they won't just. ignore certain aspects of the manga that I was praying would make it into Stampede.
