This reminds me of Netflix’s “The Hollow” series from 2018.
I was worried how dark these might be, but I am honestly invested! I’m going to go watch all the Murder Drones now! ?
I get the impression from this pilot that Caine is just an AI who’s ostensible purpose is to make the people in the digital circus happy, but who gets more and more unhinged as it’s task gets harder and harder. He really was trying to give them something they wanted with the exit door, but didn’t understand the real purpose of it (to leave the circus/digital world). This is all he knows.
I am realllly into this show! I hope they continue with it, bc i love all of the characters and the concept so much. Jax is a dick but he’s also so funny and I kinda love him xD
As someone who has followed Gooseworks’s (the creator) work for a while, I’m so excited to see how you all react to her work if this becomes a full series. Also if you liked this I recommend Little Runmo too, it’s another animation she did that is the reason I started following her on her channel.
Watching this with you makes me really want to see you react to SAO Abridged by Something Witty Entertainment. Jax’s sociopathic personality is 1:1 to one of the main characters in SAO Abridged. I won’t say who because it’s better as a surprise.
Also going back to the false promise of “having the next episode in a month” and then taking 2-3 months. Glitch when they were advertising this show they were as vague as possible until they shown the final trailer.
