I love the joke that they had to kill off the recruiter in the first episode because he was too expensive for a season.

I still remember there being SO much discussion online about how they didn't NEED to do a Season 2, that it was just a lazy cash grab to do another. So much doubt. And then the ballers just drop an episode like THIS and silence all of that bullshit. Just a masterful, masterful episode in both mystery, storytelling, and tension. A tone-setter in the BEST kind of way.

The thing about the Bread and Lottery, a lot of people don't realize it's actually pretty easy to get free food. Plenty of places give out free food. Hard money is a lot more important. Could get you a motel room, where you can get a soft bed for the night, and a shower. Or a drink, or some drugs. Which, as sad as that is, means a distraction from your current situation. So yeah, homeless people are 9/10 gonna take the lottery ticket.

I love what they did with the loan shark. He was such a one-dimensional villain in episode one of the first season. He was tasting nose blood to determine how well our hero was eating. Now, when getting his friend into a life or death situation, he takes responsibility and makes a noble sacrifice. He became a real human. A well-rounded character. Brilliantly done.

Finally caught up to your Squid Games reaction. Seeing how much you enjoy it, I feel like Kaiji Ultimate Survivor (an anime) would also be up your alley as that has kinda a similar vibe

Yeah weeds a HUGE deal in Korea. The rapper TOP (Who plays a rapper named Thanos is in this season) has been blacklisted since he got in trouble for a weed scandal back in 2017. They really had to push to get him on this season and it's been super controversial.

to answer the question about south korea's views on weed, your whole life will more or less get ruined if you're found in possession of weed or found high. it's immediate jail time and the public will legitimately hate you and root for your downfallðŸ˜

Holy cow man, that is crazy. Then again, they could easily say the same about things that happen in the US but I won't even get there (I'm not American btw).

Apparently the rapper T.O.P who is in this season eas blacklisted by like everyone for like 5 years after he got a charge for weed untill the actor who plays Gi-Hun petitioned hard for him to be in the show, could have some details wrong but you asked how serious weed is there
