Both the reaction to Ruff figuring out Penny's Dad and how all of them were when they realized it was Penny was *PERFECT*, loved it no notes

Penny's excitedly showing them the tour, and Blake and Yang are just like "we stabbed a guy to death this afternoon, can we go to sleep please"

This volume and 8 are where it gets bad for the writing but there are some cool ideas in it still.

Bad take, I think season 7-8 are some of the best writing in the series. The series didn't have much real story before these seasons. I think season four was the worst for writing.

Is it so hard to say "I have complaints about the writing" instead of "the writing is bad?"

That's certainly one opinion.   There are a couple of quibbles I have with it here and there, but over all it's still great.   Sadly, too many in the fandom take the show too personally and feel entitled to -their own- ideas of how it should work out.  Just because something isn't written like you would do it, doesn't mean that it's bad writing.

Nah, season 8 is OBJECTIVELY bad writing.

I never noticed Qrow's VA change, and I still can't really tell the difference unless I listen to them side-by-side.

I still don't get why they changed it.

Because Vic got in trouble and had charges brought against him.

Pietro didn't say Atlas codes were stolen and used, he said the Atlas security code (as in the software) got dismantled. As a hint, try to think of who we know that is a genius and has been said to have come from Atlas.

Ironwood looks like he struggling with his beard but he really was honest with the team glad he' has RWBY's back

My favorite character is probably General Ironwood at the end of the day i just feel like he is the most human. That hug he gives Qrow gets to me man. Just imagine the stress he had to be going through to push his type of character to hug another person like that XD

I love Ironwood's little chuckle when Ruby admits the ship was stolen. Great touch!

Penny's resurrection is the big thing you somehow avoided spoiling yourselves on when you accidentally reacted to way too many trailers.

They actually saw Penny in one of the later volume’s trailer. They just forgot about it

This is why when a robot character in a show “dies”, you ALWAYS take the pieces to see if you can rebuild them. Penny saved is a Penny earned.

Of all the comparisons, I'm surprised none of you guys were reminded of FF7 when it came to Mantle and Atlas. I genuinely think Midgar/FF7 had to have some influence on the concept behind these two volumes, which is probably why I enjoy them so much.

Personally Volumes 7 and 8 are brilliantly written, and have a lot of plot elements I enjoy in shows. Volume 9 is probably where I wasn't super into it, but it's also still good. Really hope we get a Volume 10 soon!

Just to clarify the schnees are up in atlas proper, the rich go up to atas to “live up in the clouds” while the rest of the population work

Oof. The wrap up had a lot of wrong memories. I'm not gonna be an ass and correct yall but maybe a watch through of the older seasons like regular show would help.

33:43 The Loss of Pyrrha was the same Volume as the Tournament Arc in Volume 3

I like to think Qrow’s voice is missing that gravel because he stopped drinking finally. Also makes narrative sense for the voice actor change.

Thats not how that works, for instance Mariah Carry and Miley Cyrus have permanently damaged vocal cords from drinking too much. it's just a VA change and that's ok...I say through gritted teeth because Vic is a goat

He might of been a goat VA but it's reasonable they removed him, given the reason they did so.

The Schnees did live in Atlas they are an elite family there. But yeah we get new looks here and they are cool especially for the Atlas look

Also not a spoiler but there are no settlements on the continent outside of Mantle and Atlas
