Oh yeah, the 2016 PPG reboot was hot dogshit on a wet lawn, my friends...!

Aside from a few jokes here and there that were actually really funny and delivered well, they screwed the pooch on EVERYTHING else! Like Ruff said, they took out basically all the fighting as we knew from PPG and cleansed any action down tremendously, they mostly tried utilizing new villains who were all god awful (one is basically a Loki Panda with the power of internet memes that compelled the girls to twerk ugh) and of the like one appearance each both Him and Mojo got it was insulting how badly they were mishandled, they made them go to high school even though they were still kindergarten age, they hardcore removed basically any and all hints towards any amount of sexuality whatsoever even going as far to make Ms Keene flatchested and writing Miss Bellum out of the show entirely (even though she was super sexy, the BIGGER point of her character was how competent and intelligent she was, which seemed to completely fly over the heads of the reboot's showrunners), and despite them doing all that to make things 'cleaner' one of the head writers SELF-INSERTED HIS OC TO BE SHIPPED WITH A 5 YEAR OLD GIRL!!! I think AlphaJay on YouTube has a video on how disgusting and bad that whole thing is. And to top it all off, the girls are generally so Flanderized and out of character so much and made to have so little agency in what little adventures they have in the reboot, it feels like they are deliberately trying to undo all the female empowerment that the original show championed, they literally has a villain who is so "He-man Woman-Haters Club" to lampsahde it all, like that is meant to make it all better if they say "Uh hurdurdur see it's just a joke! Now women watching, get back in the kitchen lol jk but really tho".

It's upsetting and disappointing for any viewer who was a fan of the original, no matter the age or gender of the viewer, it's just BAD. And worse of all, they did so much to try and sell toys out of it! Gave them lazy power-ups to make toy sales, but they didn't put in the work to make the show interesting or good enough for even the smallest and naive-est child to want to buy toys of it!

I will say, despite it all, there is actually one really good episode that came out of that dumpster fire, I think it's like the 2nd or 3rd episode? Anyway, the do a whole "The Hangover" style sequence and it's honestly pretty good, and it probably the highest point of the reboot.

Oh yeah, that writer I was talking about shipped himself with Blossom, btw, and they made her also have a HUGE crush on his self-insert. It was so creepy!!

You guys should definitely react to the Powerpuff Girls Movie, it’s honestly a great movie. And it was surprisingly somewhat dark as well. In fact, the critic scores for the movie were low because they felt it was “too serious”, which actually made it much more entertaining and memorable for audiences, especially when you watch as an adult.

You should do a reaction series! The movie should be a great starting point tbh. Really some other Cartoon Network shows would be awesome to see.

i would love to see you guys react weekly to the powerpuff girls ( and phineas and ferb , while im here lol ) !! or id at least like to see yall watch The Powerpuff Girls Movie !! its an origin story type movie so you can watch it before , during , or after the show , it doesnt have any plot ties that you have to have seen the show to get :o)

Nothing is more inconsistent than how powerful the powerpuff girls are. One minute they could be fighting godzilla and be 100% bulletproof. The next minute they can be stuck inside of christmas light wires or hurt by a basic punch

The movie didn't really showcase it because there's no monster or villain to fight, but the Powerpuff Girls whoop ass. I need to see Boom react to a few episodes of these little girls beating the crap out of people ?

I love this Christmas special as well as the Ed Edd n’ Eddy Chrismas special every time it hit December I watched these specials (as well as other ones which I can’t think off the top of my head at the moment) every year during the 2000s.

Yes, that is Tommy Pickles (Elizabeth Daily) as Buttercup. You also have Raven AND Timmy Turner (Tara Strong) as Bubbles, Spongebob (Tom Kenny) as The Narrator and The Mayor, and Thorn of the Hex Girls (Jennifer Hale) as Princess Morbucks and the teacher, Miss Keane.

Also, movie recommendation: The Powerpuff Girls Movie. If Sean wants to learn about what they can do, that's the movie to see. Not even joking, one of the best superhero movies ever.

Oh this is exciting to see, I don't really remember this special at all but if you might do more PPG stuff: You should absolutely watch the movie, it's amazing and essentially a prequel to the series.

Sorry Bree but you guys have never watched Powerpuff Girls on this site. Ruff has brought it up during some of the Nickelodeon reactions and Courage the Cowardly Dog but no you guys haven’t watched ANYTHING from it.

I'd love to see you guys watch the Powerpuff Girls as a weekly series at some point, this one definitely did seem like it was stretching out time in a couple scenes, but that doesn't happen often in its other specials, plus its movie is amazing as well. You could even start the series with the movie since it focuses solely on its origin, so you wouldn't be spoiled for what's to come.
