The connection I feel to this story is almost unparallelled.
Audrey namedropping the American Dragon crossover episode unlocked a core memory.
While I agree to an extent that live actions are pretty useless overall, I still find myself enjoying a few on occasion. I LOVE live action anime adaptaions like One Piece, Rurouni Kenshin, and Kakegurui, but yes, those are in the minority. Like, at least make it enjoyable. And I'm still waiting on my live action Atlantis. I think we can actually get something amazing there if they really hunker down and go for gold.
Fun fact: Chris Sanders and Dean Deblois co-directed this movie (with sanders voicing Stitch) and were signed on to Disney for a multiple film contract. Chris Sanders was brought on to direct "American Dog" (which would later become Bolt) but was fires because he butted heads with the Chief Creative Producers of Disney animation, John Lasseter and Ed Catmull. He then left with Dean to work in Dreamworks, and in 3 years, released How To Train Your Dragon. Deblois would later write and direct the sequels to How To Train Your Dragon as well as the live action remake last year, while Sanders would co-direct The Croods, The Call of The Wild, and The Wild Robot.
The reason feeding Pudge the Fish is so important to Lilo is because she thinks he controls the weather, the weather that killed her parents:(
What do you mean "thinks"? That fish 100% controls the weather.
Lilo is peak weird girl representation also, they will never erase our cross dressing Queen Pleakley!!
