On My Way hitting my playlist at random a week ago has got to be an omen I missed at this point
It's so weird knowing that Joaquin Phoenix was the main character
Spirit : Stallion of the Cimarron 🐴 next!
Top 5 comfort movies for me.
Even a lot of people who love the other films from the less successful Disney eras (Treasure Planet, Atlantis, Bolt, etc.) seem to crap on this movie (at least from what I see online), which I've never understood honestly. It's not perfect but I really do love it and find it very powerful
Also I agree that the sequel is great, was one of my favs as a kid
Love this movie!!! Brother Bear 2 was pretty great too, especially the soundtrack. Disney's Dinosaur, Treasure Planet, and Atlantis 1 & 2 are also severely underrated Disney films yall should check out.
Treasure Planet it the best Disney movie and you can not change my mind
Disney doesnt make movies like this anymore because they prefer cheap and fast cash grabs like bad 3d movies, awful live action remakes, and horrible shows where they insult the fans.
And this isn't even one of the better Disney movies
Fun fact. The aurora borealis used to be visible from a lot more places until the heavy light pollution from major cities around the world.
I think kenai is still growing that's why he looks so small as a bear
Underrated movies. I also remember liking Brother Bear 2 more but they're both incredible.
I literally watched this movie super recently, and I *still* cried watching it again. The scene where Kenai tells Koda what happened is heartbreaking...
I cried three times to this movie.
Yes!!! I love this movie always, with just a tiny bit of native blood I was invested the second I saw it and even more so as they explained legends and spirits. I even thought my nana looked like Tenana lol. We even had the dvd but we always played the quiz that told you what your totem was. My brother got guidance (eagle), my sister was wisdom (wolf) and I got the bear every single time! But I'll always love the spirits emerging scene with the accompanying music, breathtaking!
Joaquin Phoenix is the voice of Kenai and I also find it symbolic how Joaquin lost his brother, River, at a young age. So he has a connection to Kenai and his loss of his brother.
Not to mention that the man who voiced Denahi committed suicide soon after he finished recording.
Utterly adored this film as a child, and was so upset that more people didn't know about it. Still incredible all these years later!
I hope y'all watch the sequel of Brother Bear! Another great movie that i'd love to see you react to is Spirit The Stallion Of The Cimarron!
Please do Tarzan next, the soundtrack is amazing and the songs that Phil Collins sing are great.
Disney lost something else more important that really bought their movies to life hand drawn or £D, they lost care and passion.
I remember the McDonalds moose toys vividly! I think I ended up with like 5 of them and always used them as reindeer.
Omggg you just brought back such a memory
Oh man. I loved this movie so much growing up, to the point where I rewrote the song from the montage where he hangs out at the bear habitat to be less about brotherhood and more about families in general coming together for my wedding.
I've seen the moose brothers' commentary of this movie more than I've seen the movie itself
This movie is PURE GOLD!!!! Also, yes Sean, you need to get them to watch Letterkenny ASAP, and of course Shoresy!
Loved this reaction!! This movie is sooo good!!! Please watch Tarzan next, and Lion King 2: Simba's Pride and Princess and the Frog plzzzz!!
Absolutely love Brother Bear im happy you guys watched it. Can't wait to see uou guys watch more classic/underrated Disney movies and even DreamWorks and etc
Always loved brother bear. Gods i miss this style of animation.
I don't think there's good logic behind why we don't still get new 2d animations. I think it's just a classic corporate safe move. When 3d came on the scene it was huge, and it continues to consistently sell. I think the corporate heads just don't want to risk trying to revive a medium that practically died out. So they play it safe and lean into live action remakes lol
When Kenai and Koda has that moment I always get choked up.
You guys need to react to Bolt
Haven't seen this movie since I was a kid because it always made me cry... And here I am at 28 lip trembling crying 😭 damnit😂
Another underrated Disney movie, in my opinion, The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, honestly, the best of the Disney sequels.
I loved this movie so much as a kid and to this day it genuinely gives me chills
also koda would have to become a human, i aint dealing with a 17 foot long tape worms hanging out of my ass because of eating raw salmon from a stream living as a bear forever
Treasure planet has got to be coming soon. We would love to see you guys react to that one day
100%
This is one of Disney's most underrated/underappreciated films, alongside Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Treasure Planet. If Disney had just stuck with making movies like this, it would've been the golden age of Disney, but they didn't think they were getting enough returns and abandoned it.
those movies always reminds me of titan a.e but it always feels like im the only ones whos seen that movie despite matt damon and drew berrymore voice acting on it
this was my fav movie when i was a kid still makes me tear up a lil at the end
I would be so down for a classic Disney marathon, even if it’s just the underrated ones. From Princess and the Frog, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Robin Hood, and so many others. Would be a good time all around
Yes!!! thank you! this will always be my favourite movie, I got the bear/hand print as a tattoo as well. 2 is worth a watch! also if you do Tarzan please do the second as well that one is so underrated
I this film in theatres back in the day 😎. It seems that people either think this movie is one of the weaker films in Disney's line-up, or that it's one of the best and underrated. For me, I do like it and think it's good, but I also see the flaws people point out such as: the plot being a little generic, some of the animal voices can get grating, and the song coming in during the scene where Kenai is telling Koda the truth may not work very well compared to if the had used the musical score instead.
However, the designs and animation are great to look at, the music and songs are wonderful, the message is profound, the characters and cultures are all likable, and it is neat or refreshing that the story manages to not have a villain just a misunderstanding 🤔.
Lastly, this movie was also probably overlooked due to 3d animation at the time taking over and 2d films weren't doing as well 🤔.
Such an underrated movie, some might say it was the underdog of its time seeing how much effort they put into accuracy of every little thing even sounds
I think Marketing didn't do enough of a job when it was about to release in Cinema's as Critics or most Critics didn't like the movie at all, and I know my Brother and I loved this movie it was soo good. But it wasn't as popular as the other Disney movies. It eventually became a favourite cult classic but still most people didn't like the movie. I loved this movie I'm so glad you watched it <3 <3.
I loved this movie growing up. My twin and i ended up naming our dogs Kenai and Koda (they are akitas mixed with pitbulls). Koda was the baby and my favorite
Joaquin Phoenix, who voiced Kenai, lost his brother in real life. According to the director, when they were recording Kenai's reaction to Sitka's death, Phoenix's performance was so raw and intense that much of it had to be cut for fear that it would upset kids too much.
You guys have to watch Treasure Planet and Atlantis next!
Yesss treasure planet!!
By the time you get to feature movie length, 3D is probably cheaper than a 2D animated movie and can get churned out way faster which means less time from investment to payment. And if you have a multi movie series or tv show then the price and time disparities gets even larger.
If you guys want another underrated Disney Gem, check out Treasure Planet! Also would love a Cat in the Hat reaction
Treasure Planet sure; Cat in the Hat not so much lol.
Treasure Planet is amazing, I saw with my kid many time and never got bored of it.
hearing them mention princess n the frog,, PLEASE LMAO it's phenomenal.
spirit stallion of the cimarron is another really good old 2d animated film focused on animals and people! its really good yall should check it out!
It's one of those movies that I remember being relatively popular around the time it came out and then it just disappeared, but then again I was like 7 or 8 at the time so it may just be me misremembering its popularity because I watched it ALL THE TIME. I love that movie a lot. Breaks my heart every time.
1:19:11 “And I passed on the wisdom of his story to our people and we all lived happily ever after….until the white man came. The end.”
Man I'm going to miss Phil Collins when he's gone it will be like losing a national treasure because right now he's in hospice
Best Disney movie in my honest opinion
MY FAVORITE DISNEY MOVIE, LETS GO PHIL COLLINS HITTIN ANOTHER 101/10 SOUND TRACK LIKE TARZAN
I will say that, unlike Bree, I do not like the sequel tho. It's on the same level as scrubs season 9 for me, I havent been able to finish
My childhood
i used to have the vhs and watch it so many times
I love this movie it was the last movie my grandpa to me to the theater for before he passed
Yall definitely need to check out
Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole directed by Zack Snyder. Came out 2010 but the animated and story is great!
Rutt and Tuke’s commentary is forever stuck in my head. “The way she drew it looks like where the lights touch McDonald’s.”
“Those monsters are really scary, especially with those sticks…” Such an amazing line
I hated this movie the first time I saw it, when I was like 8. Then I watched it a few years later and couldn’t figure out what little me’s problem was.
yes i loved this movie id love to see spirit stallion of the cimarron its another great older animated movie
Btw theres actually an artistic reason that the aspect ratio is so small in the beginning, basically its supposed to represent how small and closed minded Kenai is at this point and once he wakes up as a bear the aspect goes to normal to symbolize his world expanding. Fantastic movie
This and Treasure Planet were some of my favorite movies as a kid
My
Finally 😭😭😭😭🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Since you brought it up, when we getting that Cat in the Hat reaction? Elite movie honestly. Top 3 all time
That movie is so bad
How so is it elite lol? Not arguing just asking 🤔
The reaction to the 2003 film u mean
So happy to finally see you guys react to this, I love this movie so much!
I've got two older brothers too, so this one always hit close to me.
i absolutely loved brother bear as a kid. Another two amazing movies that dont get enough recognition is Atlantis and Treasure planet.
you guys should really watch wolfwalkers, its one of my fav animated movies of all time. great reaction as always.
PLEASE I hope they do. Irish mythology is so interesting.
OH MY GOD this means you guys HAVE to do Tarzan soon!! Phil Collins also did the music for it and it’s truly a masterpiece 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
I have this on vhs
The soundtrack for this movie was too peak for its time
I love this time period in history. (The Ice Age.)
I love this movie. I cried to it three times while watching it for the first time. Phil Colins you musical genius.
god i love this movie, i used to watch this so much as a kid, super underrated
Watched this so many times back when I was 6 and had a mobile dvd player. Happy to see after so long
peak and phill collins music
