I see a lot of comments pointing out Jack Gleeson the actor who played Joffrey on GOT but no one mentioning that the Wayne’s murderer Joe Chill is played by Richard Brake who was also in GOT as the Night King (the leader of the white walkers)

DC Parental Figures as I remember:

Batman - good but dead parents

Superman - good parents, dead dad

Hal Jordan (green lantern) - good parents, dead dad

Flash - good parents, dead mom

Wonder Woman - Protective mom but in the long term good parent

Cyborg - Shitty parent but wants the best for their kid

Aquaman - Shit parents, like really bad if you go with the lets kill him because hes blonde stuff

    Peacemaker - THE shit parent

all the robins - either dead or Bruce so bad parent

batman originally was fine with using a gun back in the 30's and 40's and was even shown using a gun to kill vampires but when the no kill rule was introduced to the character the batman with a gun refers to thomas wayne, but you can certainly find early comic book runs of batman with a gun.

Just because no one else mentioned it and it's a fun car-nerd fact, the supercar that Batman drives in this and the next movie is a Lamborghini Murcielago; Lamborghini names most of its cars after famous Spanish fighting bulls (even though they're Italian), and Murcielago was one; it also translates to 'Bat', and is called that both because of the bull and also because the air intakes behind its side windows raise (like 'bat wings') after a set speed to take in more air to cool and feed the big-ass V12 it has. I believe there may also be a button one can push to raise them independently of speed, but I may be misremembering that part.

This one's trippy. There's an alternate universe where Superman was found by the Waynes instead of the Kents, so Thomas and Martha named him Bruce and never had a biological kid of their own. After they get murdered, his powers kick in and he becomes Batman but obviously has Superman's powers. The comic is called Batman: Speeding Bullet

Batman Begins holds up well so 20 years later. I like Liam Neeson in the role despite being the wrong ethnicity and them pronouncing the name wrong (It's pronounced Raysh as opposed to Rasz). Christian Bale is a good Bruce Wayne but an ok Batman, and Cillian Murphy is a nearly perfect Scarecrow .

The one thing that doesn't hold up or never worked for these films is some of the action and editing. Too much shaky cam to the point where you can't tell what's going on sometimes, and the cuts are a little to fast-paced and abrupt sometimes. It feels like they can never let a scene breathe for moment before cutting to the next thing lol. Thankfully all these problems get smooth over in the sequel 🤔.

Lol, that's not how rabies works. You don't get it by bats flying around. It's transmitted through their saliva. You shouldn't touch them but being surrounded by them is not a problem.

You can get bitten by a bat if the bat runs into you when flying(which is very likely when you're swinging your arms at a swarm of them flying around you). Bats are dangerous if they have an opportunity to bite you, and given they can bite you and keep flying you might not even notice it happen. A bat will not intentionally fly over and bite you and then keep flying, but if you sit there swinging at every bat that comes near you there is a good chance one you hit will bite you in response to being hit.

Oh and since you got me curious, there is apparently an actual Bruce Wayne on IMDB. He's not an actor though he was in the make up department for Lock Up (1989), Stop or my mom will shoot (1992), Oscar (1991), Live from the Lincoln center (2019 - 1 episode of a TV series), Web Therapy (TV series - hair and makeup for Ms Kudrow), and Elmos World Happy Holidays (stylist Mr RIpa). There is also a real city named Gotham that sued DC comics at one point for damage to its reputation.

They plan on going back to them at some point in the future. Batman Returns already did worse than 89 Batman, and it is reasonable to expect the other 2 movies to do even worse, so they held off on them and went to these movies and maybe Robert's The Batman since they are more likely to do well.

  50. casualking21

I'll defend Bree on the Harley Quinn thing. Ever since The New 52 reboot in 2011 DC has pushed Harley as more of her own character outside of The Joker. Her origins are still tied to him but now her character is more either independent or associated w/ other characters like Catwoman and Poison Ivy. Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn, The Suicide Squad (2021), and the Harley Quinn show are all examples of her breaking out into her own character removed from The Joker. Even though she is related to Batman, her association with The Joker is more recognizable than her association with Batman if that makes any sens lol.

    re: the microwave emitter...

I guess since it was designed for military use to vaporize water supplies only, I figure "don't vaporize the people operating it" would be one of the first issues to tackle.

But another possibility is that it seems to be designed to point downwards, and propagation of forces would probably limit the range and power on that thing.

Yet another possibility is that since salt water is harder to vaporize because dissolved salts increase the temperature at which water turns into a gas, so it takes longer to vaporize bodily fluids?

I dunno, some combination of those three reasons is probably it, if you really need it answered.

Even in comics, The Avengers or Justice League don’t kill because in real life reason is parents don’t like violence. Also because the villains like Joker become popular so the companies be like “why would we kill them if they make sales.”

Okay, Superhero with terrible parents (only the characters y'all have been introduced to) let's do this:

Bruce Banner/Hulk had an abusive father who killed his mother right in front of Bruce when she tried to leave his father.

Star-Lord's father (at least in the MCU) was Ego.

Carol Danver's (Captain Marvel) father was a terrible person (not to mention a sexist)

Steve Roger's father was a lazy, abusive drunk who beat him and his mother, and Steve had to become the man of the house when his mother got sick.

    Deadpool's father was abusive.

Gamora's adoptive father was Thanos. (Sure, not biological, but point still stands)

MCU's Hawkeye's father was verbally and physically abusive. (A bit different in the comics)

In some iterations (Including James Gunn's Superman) his birth parents thought of humans as weak beings that were Kal-Els to conquer.

Technically not an actual father, but if you think about it...Vision wouldn't have been created without Ultron. (Comic Vision was created by Ultron to infiltrate the Avengers and destroy them from within, but Vision quickly decided against it.

Now we can diverge from DC and Marvel and go to other sources like Invincible and Omni-Man. Needless to explain with that one

That's just to name a few that you guys have been introduced to, there are way more that you haven't met yet, and don't even get me started on the parents on many of the Villains, or even the Villains who were parents. My lawd.

Wow! All that yelling. xD But taking the sidedoor is probably necessary. I think big theaters like that close their doors when the show has started. So the sidedoor was probably the only option for them.

True however that alley is canonically called Crime Alley and everyone knows that in the city so that was stupid of them

It was renamed crime alley after the Wayne's were killed there I thought.

Either was the rich billionaire that knows it's the "slums" would never go in the side ally like that

No it wasn’t. Chill just coincidentally went after them. Falcone never met Chill until after the Waynes were killed. Idk where you got that from

You're wrong. It was renamed because of the crime. It's not stupid there's multiple rationales that work. Thinking it's stupid is stupid of you

I thought crime alley was the neighborhood like in Batman the animated series.

Batman Begins is such an underrated film that is kind of just overshadowed by the other 2

It occurred to me that for all the jokes about Batman beating the desperate/mentally ill, his first appearance was in 1938. When the mob flat out owned parts of major cities.

Suddenly the ‘war on crime’ thing has a different context.
