Professor Slughorn!?
is there a delay on the next episodes?
@ 52:15 The Targaryians did not have a Dynasty for thousands of years, they had one for only 300 years. They weren't even royal when they left Valerya. Valerians laughed at Aegon not believing that destruction was coming. The 7 kingdoms were their own stand alone kingdom for thousands of years before Aegon came. Aegon is sort of based on William the Conquerer (Aegon the Conquerer being a moniker for him here) which his reign started in 1066 after the battle of Hastings. Then fast forward 300+ years and then the beginning of the fractures in the Plantagenet Dynasty resulted in the War of the Rose's (What Game of Thrones is Based upon)
Aegon didn't even exist yet when the Targaryens left Valyria.
Targeryens came to westeros and settled on Dragonstone in 114BC.
Doom of Valyria was in 102BC.
Aegon born 27BC
Aegon conquered Westeros and became King in 1AC.
What Arya meant with "Thats not you" is that Nymeria is not the type to follow around Arya, mirroring how Arya is not the type to become a noble lady lol.
The slow realization that they actually thought she meant that wasn’t Nymeria XD
Circi got everything she wanted in every aspect.....well except her kids safety lmao
There's a video that I have referred to in the comments in the past that would be nice for you to watch. It is something that you could react to as others in the past on YouTube and such have tho you don't have to. It's rather short and sweet. It is always nice to see people's cogs turn in their heads while watching the video. It is a compilations of hints throughout the show that are very subtle but hint at there being more to the Leana Stark and Rhaegar misadventure that led to the war in which Robert Baratheon took over as king. You don't have to watch it as a reaction tho, as I have said, it still is a nice watch. I'll post it in reply.
Here's the link to it: https://youtu.be/3xaspBsfgRg?si=YE_vVX_fPKVO-Miy
No front guys but sitting on your couch never having seen war and then blaming theon who fought bravely until the end and then when there was no chance anyways to save yara you blamed him altough he clearly had something we know is absolutely heavy PTSD from torture. Blaming him for that is the definiton of a brainless comment sorry^^1
It was a similar situation when Sam was at Horn Hill and his dad was giving him a hard time. I can't imagine how rough his childhood was and how ingrained that feeling of being browbeaten was. They acted so disappointed in Sam for not speaking up at the dinner table. I wasn't disappointed in Sam. I just felt pity for him and the trauma he had experienced.
lol
Good thing that they literally talked being deep seated trauma then
They literally talked about his ptsd brought on my the horror and torture around him…
Other people already got it but the "thats not you" was in reference to ned telling arya the future, she said "thats not me"
You dont have to agree with the comments watch the end for yourselves. Its gas.
lmaooooi
When Arya said 'that's not you' she meant 'that's not your personality', not that it was a different wolf. It definitely was nymeria

Okay so the Year 2038 problem is basically this, as far as I understand (I'm a programmer but early in my career):
When storing date and time, it's often done with what's known as Unix time, which is the number of seconds since since January 1st, 1970, 12am UTC (aka the Unix epoch). The problem is that a lot of systems and programs (I think especially older ones) store the number as a 32-bit signed integer. Essentially, on January 19th, 2038, at 3:14:07am UTC, the number becomes too big to be stored as a 32-bit signed integer, which will result in it overflowing and basically resetting, so it starts counting from the lowest number in the range. This is similar to the Y2K problem, but the cause is different.
As with Y2K, there are solutions that can be implemented way before the deadline.
Other people have mentioned it, but it really cannot be understated how much you should turn the studio lights down for the rest of the series—but especially season 8. Their budget wasn't cut at all, so I don't know why they decided to make everything as dark as they do—it's not like they had to hide shitty CG, which is the usual case for overly dark scenes.
Jon made the right call with the Umbers and Karstarks. He can't afford to do anything that might isolate any of his people, he needs the numbers. If he started stripping castles away or any other retaliatory moves, then any of the northerners might have left and abandoned the cause. Right now, the only conflict that matters is between the living and the dead.
It's slightly more complicated than that Jon not stripping Karhold and Last Hearth is a good move because it keeps those castles with houses that have held them for centuries but the idea that your bannermen won't face any consequences for treason is just as dangerous, how are you supposed to trust their forces to stay loyal in the bigger fight? Or any other houses that feel the need to run? He should've at least taken hostages.
Sean if you’re reading this, you should probably be prepared for Season 8… if you can try to watch it with the lights dimmed or at nighttime like on horror nights because there is a specific episode you will not be able to see the screen otherwise. Erik can probably confirm which episode.
Oh boom you sweet summer child this is only the beginning of the darkness
Oh Sean you think the shows contrast being to dark now just you wait till next season oh boy are you gonna love it like everybody else did
Just for a bit of deeper insight; White Walkers are different than Wights. White Walkers are the ice-skinned, General-type figures who seem to be able to think and have intentions. Wights are just the zombified ones who the White Walkers raise to be mindless drones.
There is always a bit of symbolism between the dire wolves and the Starks. I know most of the wolves are dead, but so are most of the stark family. The remaining survivors have transformed into something stronger.
yes, Theon took an L in episode 2, but he redeems himself later on
Why would you say this. It’s REALLY EASY to NOT spoil things. Just don’t type
nice spoiler
dam Missandei is Gorgeous. the perfect woman
except one thing... but I won't say it :)
To my great regret I was eating during the second Episode, that cut from Operation to food F-ucked up my apetite XD
Jorah isn't locked up. He's quarantined. The sept isn't a prison, it's more like a big library and a research hospital
People really hated Euron as a character and I did too (not like Cersei because she's evil but from the standpoint of being badly written), but watching the show again with you guys I'm growing to really like him. I fully embraced your chaos theory and I'm starting to truly appreciate the characters that just there to be menaces XD
Please watch house of the dragon
First time I saw this episode (Ep 2), I thought 'Huh, Ramsay would've been great at this, and it would have channeled his desire to flay people to a good cause'. Of course, he likely would have then used the... remains of the treatment to infect huge numbers of people for his own amusement so probably best not.
Real talk Jon was 300 IQ by stationing the wildlings at one of the night's watch towers. They need a place to live and it puts them far enough away from the rest of the people so there's less tension
When Arya said “that’s not you.” It’s a call back to where Ned told Arya one day she would marry a Lord and live in a castle as his lady and Arya responded “That’s not me.” - The wolf was Nymeria.
Yep, I wanted to write that too, so thanks for doing it instead. I totally understand that they didn't remember that because honestly I got that only on second rewatch.
Season 7 starts with winter coming. And its the SECOND coldest thing to hit Westeros
It's interesting, in the novels Arya has green dreams. Not as prevalent as Brans, but she has an instance of warging into Nymeria. Arya doesnt really know she can* warg. It wasnt shown in the show, but the time she was blind was made a bit better by her looking through the eyes of the birds around her. She has felt her dire wolf's feelings and thoughts about her new pack.
The fact that she finds Cats body in the books through Nymeria is heartbreaking
She meant going home and being a pet isnt you. It IS nymeria.
I’ve never seen one piece, but I say from dragon ball to super is a good honorable mention for when it comes to long Epics that do a good job of interconnecting, separate plot lines.
Did you guys notice Warrior Lady Mormont is the same girl from Last of Us?
I think they called her Ellie in the last video. :)
Arya didn't kill the entire Frey army, at that toast, was all 50+ of walder freys children, sons, grandsons, family members, all of those men were litterally the Frey family, they had a massive family because walkers Frey had dozens of young girls as his wives, so he had nearly 100 children. Arya litteraly wiped the family from existence in a single minute.
They got Ed Sheeran as a surprise for Arya’s actress cuz she’s a big fan.
And the song he sings is from the books it was made by a singer who blackmails Tyrion about Shae the "Hands of Gold" are the chain that the King's Hand wears
Why a random Lannister would sing this song who can say
Likely the random Lannister’s singing was similar to couples playing songs like “Every Breath You Take” by The Police at their wedding despite how creepy the lyrics actually are. Because they think the song had a great melody along with a lack of full understanding of it’s meaning. That’s my guess anyway. 🤷♂️
You asked about the records. Each season has its own Soundtrack. ALSO I actually saw Game of Thrones Live a few times where they had the compser and a live orchestra playing music while scenes of the show played, like the Battle of the Bastards. One of the coolest things I've ever done.
Sean with the 'Why does this have to be so dark?' You're in for it boys lmao
oh yeah, the true winter is only just coming for them lol (it is unwatchable on a TV in a lit room btw guys if you are reading this so be prepared to have the set up you guys use for horror stuff)
Nymerias return would probably have some actual emotional weight behind it if D&D didn't find the need to scrap 90% of the magic in the series and we kept all the Starks being Wargs soul ended to their wolves as part of the story
I actually kind of like that change because the nature of genetics is that the warging would skip some generations and is very unlikely to surface in every sibling of a family. One or two sure but not all of them.
Genetics in Westeros is squiffy in the first place so I'm not really bothered the issue is thematically the Starks all being wargs is a big part of their characters Jon's identity is attached to Ghost him returning to Jon after Stannis offers him Winterfell gives him the resolve to stay as the Lord Commander Aryas wolf dreams are what keep her connected to Westeros even while falling deep into a death cult and losing her identity and the opposite works for Sansa since she lost Lady so early she becomes more malleable and easily controlled it's actually really important to these characters and the loss of these magic elements dampens the overall story
The North Remembers 🐺
Sean brought another key issue of the last two seasons, the lighting in dark scenes is terrible. And it will get worse.
season 7 is mostly okay, since if I'm remembering correctly there are not THAT many dark scene, but season 8... I really hate modern way of filming night stuff
I will die on the hill to say Ned did everything right and that is why got his honorable death and those other people played dirty and died losing everything. What my take is stay kind even if people say you died in vain. Ned is remembered as hero and strongest lanister died on a shitter.
Exactly this. One of the driving themes of ASOIAF is what it takes to be a hero in a harsh world the right thing isn't always going to nice and people may get hurt but by the end of it people will eventually pay it back, its why the Starks are loved by the North and all of the Lannister power evaporates after Tywin snuffs it. It's just a shame the writers weren't interested in that I would've loved to see Wyman Manderlys speech about the North Remembering in the show
the issue with the screen being constantly too dark is a well known issue from here on out. No one really knows why, but it comes up a lot
It’s called the Long Night. It’s dark at night…. Idk what people expected from this
Also, in regards to the "thats not you" comment, that was actually nymeria, Arya meant "thats not you" in the sense that coming with her, being a pet or a servant in her vendetta isn't what nymeria is anymore. Like arya herself, she has found her calling in the world as the alpha, the leader of the pack, not as a weapon on someone else's war. Thats not you means that who nymeria was, isnt who she is.
Another got upload already?? Ayeee
I was shocked to see this upload of S7! Was an awesome surprise!
Oh boy here we go the start of the end and the teleporting
Say what you will but even if Theon had balls he wouldn't have done shit on that boat. They already lost and Euron is 10x the fighter. I guess he could of died with honor but its not like that means anything.
Loool you thought that episode was dark, wait till the last season 😭
if games of thrones would of kept with its schedule it would have ended this year
When Arya said "That's not you" she didn't mean that it's not Nymeria. When Arya was young and was told she'd be a lady she always said "That's not me" now as a Nymeria has chosen to be a wild wolf in the wild leading her own pack, hence Arya recognizing that the life of a pet is "not her"
I was going to say the same thing. Nicely worded !
It's been said, but "it's not you" was just a callback to an older line. These last couple seasons are full of callbacks to quotes, maybe even too many...
None of those giants were Wun Wun. He died at Winterfell, and the Whites are still outside the wall. They wouldn't have access to his body yet. And to be honest, they probably burned all their dead after that battle.
Not burning the giant's body would be incredibly dumb but I wouldn't put it past the writing at this point.
Am i wrong that House Frey still exist. She killed the guys only or am i missing something?
I feel like in the show it's heavily implied that all Freys are wiped out, he says something along the lines of "I've gathered every Frey that means a damn thing" which implies everybody that has any importance to that house is present in that room
Nah you're right, there's Frey children, daughters, and even other sons just about everywhere on Westeros. Same with the Tyrells after the sept blew up last season. The show just kinda forgets the rest of the families.
I stand by the opinion that Theon did the smart thing. There was 0 chance of rescuing her there, surviving to maybe be able to help later was the only real option.
Im always happy to see hot pie flourishing.
“Flourish!” - Vision 2021
That is Nymeria, Arya's wolf. The reason why Arya says "That's not you" is because it's a callback to when Ned told Arya she would get married and be a lady and Arya says to her father "No. That's not me." Nymeria has her own pack now. She doesn't belong to Arya anymore. So when Arya asks, Nymeria walking away is her basically saying the same: "That's not me."
Daenarys is Jon's Aunt. Rhaegar was Daenarys's older brother.
I think Ruff missed that the procedure Sam is doing isn't outlawed because it's dangerous for the person it's being preformed on but the one doing the procedure.
Would really love to see you guys watch Vikings once you’re done with GOT
You were right the first time, Dany is Jon's aunt. Rhaegar was her brother, his father
If you think this was dark just wait till you get to a certain episode in season 8. You basically gonna find out what it's like to be a blind person lol.
I was just coming to type with when they came to the realization, but I will type it anyways. That was the house that Arya and the hound were at. The Hound absolutely feels responsible for their deaths after robbing them.
"Nah he would've pointed that out" They were literally having that conversation when you said this lol
Hey guys, Billy here. Something y'all missed in the season closer for last season -- when Sam walked into the Oldtown Lighthouse Library chamber and it panned to all the books and academic objects, it showed us the Orrerry which is used to house the sun in the opening credits. The metal thing with the stags and the dragons and the wolves and house sigils in relief on it? With the arcs of metal that swing down and the ball of flame behind the Nameplate for the show?
That Orrery hangs as a massive chandelier inside the lighthouse chamber of the library at OldTown, and Sam stood beneath it looking up. (There are two hanging in the Library -- one for the Sun, and one for the Moon, presumably, because the lamp at its center is silvery gray). Go back and slowmo through the Library reveal -- you'll see it.
Oldtown is the Westeros equivalent of the Library/Lighthouse at Alexandria from our own past. The center of all learning, lore, and knowledge in Westeros and Essos combined, Oldtown trains the Maesters, who win the chains of knowledge, subject by subject, and who form a neutral administrative skeleton and structure which is theoretically beyond politics, to provide some stability in the Seven Kingdoms.
Because the opening credits move from the orrery to what is clearly a mechanized miniature model of the world, we can reasonably assume that the series is a story in the volumes of Oldtown maintained by the Maesters and shared now with us, the audience.
And... we can also assume that the opening credits World Map of Wonders is a physical artifact, an actual thing, which lives somewhere inside the Lighthouse Chamber of the Library at Oldtown, and could be activated or studied by the Maesters to understand the world geography better in a scaled model with major centers of population depicted in automata.
arya saying "thats not you" is a call back to when ned was talking about arya becoming a lady of the house and arya said "thats not me". basically it was nymeria but arya understood her place was in the wild
-The hound finds the house and is like "i dont wanna go in there, hell no, i dont wanna go in there"
-The hound describes exactly how the people died and why
-The hound is burying them
-Even Boom goes "I think he was there before dude"
Ruff: "Yeah, but he would have POINTED IT OUT"
Ruff. How much did you take before this recording session? xD
And right before he said that, Thoros said "you knew them didn't you" and the Hound said "not really" meaning yes he did lol
I get where Sansa is coming from too. The thing is though, she only has that mindset because of her time in King's Landing and learning from Cersei. Jon made the more honorable decision I think, especially since he had them pledge their loyalty. If they had refused, then he could've done what Sansa suggested, but I am glad he didn't immediately start off with taking their castles.
Should've at least taken hostages from both of them to assure no further treason
I think you forget the fact that these are children. Thats part of why they arent revealed until after Jon makes his choice final. As Jon said, punishing the son for the crimes of the father is not the just way to do things. Jon is the Ned of the series now, honorable to a fault. The fact that the two heads of these houses are children is proof enough to show the numbers of noteworthy family members have dwindled to a point where to take noteworthy hostages you will have to take people who are not noteworthy, lesser members of the family like the one cousin was that jamie killed while he was held hostage under the starks. Not to mention, Jon knows what hostages can lead to. Theon Greyjoy betrayed the Starks, literally grew up with them and still betrayed them. I think the best course of action was for him to do what he did. A good ruler knows when to discipline his followers as well as show mercy to them.
It was Arya's wolf btw. When she said "It's not you," she meant it in the same way as she means when people tell her she is a lady meant to be a wife and mother. She tells that that "that isn't me." So she was just saying being a pet wolf isn't her anymore and she has a family and can't just run off with her.
when arya said "that's not you" to nymeria she was referencing what she told Ned when he told her what her life would be and she said "that's not me"
Haha I think we both were typing this at the same time. As soon as I posted it refreshed and yours came in also.
So it was actually Nymeria in the woods with Arya. When Arya said "that's not you" she's saying "that's not who you are", which references back to her in season 1 when either Jon or Ned (can't remember which one) says to her "you'll marry and become a lady in Winterfell and she replies "that's not me"
Yes that is is the father and daughter he robs, the hound has changed a lot since then so he is filled w regret and sympathy. The hound is one who shows love, respect and care thru actions, so him burying them is way to show his respect to them and admit he was fucked up for doing what he did. You can tell when he first sees them dead he feels bad, giving us more indication of his character arc of becoming a better person.
so that was Nymeria, she said 'that's not you' in a reference to what she said to Ned in season 1 when he said that she'll get married to a lord and have children, she replied 'that's not me'. Sean was right in that she was basically acknowledging that being Arya's pet is not who Nymeria is anymore. Great reaction as always guys! :)
"Its not you" meaning Nymeria isnt a pet anymore. Arya was always told she was going to be a lady and somebody's wife, and she would reply "thats not me" Same thing, it was Nymeria.
That actually was Nymeria. Arya's line of "That's not you" is in reference to a conversation she had with Ned in season 1. Ned said one day she would grow up to marry a Lord and become a Lady of a House. Arya told him no as that wasn't her. Nymeria is too wild now. She belongs in the woods, not as a pet in a castle. Much like Arya, that's not her anymore
Sam has been training with shit pots for months to not touch his face, all for this moment.
"Why does this have to be so dark" Honey, you got a big storm coming
Omg y'all are spoiling us <3
Ya just to let them know the riders in the knight kings army are crasters sons if I remember correctly because they do a scene a few seasons ago wearing one of them takes the baby and dose a ritual and you see it's eyes change to that of the riders
Yes this is true. These are the actual white walkers, and the dead brought back to life are called "wights", though they just call them "the dead" in the show. Two different beings. White walkers are living beings, that were turned while still alive, and can control the dead. In the show, most or all of the white walkers, excluding the Night King, were Crastor's sons, which he had 100 of
Ruff over here looking like a Stark frl
If you guys are looking for a substitute series after this ends I can't recommend The Expanse enough. Picture Game of Thrones, but in space!
House of the Dragon
YES MORE GOT. Now we Only need the Return of the 3 Top Horror Movie franchises, and everything is Perfect. (Conjouring, Insidious, Paranormal Activities)
"Cut to 3 weeks ago, before my throat was cut."
Yeah yeah, let's go with that.
Damn yall are running through it
