If you guys like dragons and man taken their pants of that much, why not give the anime Fairy Tail a try?
The falloff after the end of this season is insane. Battle of the bastards is still one of my fave GOT episodes
It's so crazy to see someone in the bliss of finishing season 6, I don't know how they're going to react to these next couple of seasons, but I'm looking forward to it. I feel like everyone was fully on board at this point, most people didn't turn until season 8, I wonder if they do the same thing. At this point I was honestly thinking it might be the greatest show ever, only to hate it by the time it finished.
Nah, some people had issues. Not going to argue that season 6 didn't have banger episodes and some of the greatest moments in the entire show, but there were moments that bugged me too. That said, the dropoff IS insane going into season 7 and 8.
Once again, I'll keep saying this, I can forgive someone enjoying season 6 even after multiple rewarches. Even those who find it to be their favorites.
Season 7, I can also understand enjoying season 7 on a first watch, but after watching season 8, it's probably going to sour things in a trickle manner. The logic of things in season 8 is piss poor. It also helps put into perspective after rewatching the early seasons, the intrigue slowly got worse and worse over the final seasons. Noticable since season 5, especially if you know the books and/or watch people who have their feet in a song of ice and fire like people akin to Glidus and AltSh(w)iftX.
The show is noticeably worse as it goes if you know and look at the things that are bad, and once you see and know and understand, even if I'd rather enjoy it for what it is, I can't unsee the bad.
For instance, let's talk about battle of the bastards, Sansa knew she had the support of Little fingers and yet instead of telling Jon "Hey, I might be able to have the Vale's army help us by tomorrow. Don't attack yet." Instead she complains to him about how Ramsay is annoying and doesn't bring it up and instead just asks Jon to not go without any reason to not attack other than "It's a trap." only for her to have a Helm's Deep Gandalf moment with the cavalry. Even when Jon tells her "We have begged everyone to help us, there's no one else coming" she doesn't even think to mention it, and yet we're meant to think she is one of the smartest people around.
Mind you there's dozens of other illogical things that happen this episode, this just being one of the main stupid things that happen.
Yeah, I agree with you. Season 5 is when red flags started to rear their heads for me. Things like Littlefinger, the cleverest SOB in the kingdom, suddenly becoming braindead with his plots. He's quite literally the reason this whole thing popped off, so to see him become as stupid as he became really hurt.
Season 6, despite being a better season overall, had even more nonsense. Arya surviving a slice across the middle, along with two stabs to the gut, is already pretty miraculous. They do a good job of showing her wounded, but then she's suddenly a gymnast/sprinter when it comes to getting away from the Waif. Tyrion causes Meereen to be put under siege and is rewarded with the handship. Varys teleports around. Jon lets Melisendre go for absolutely no reason, and Davos is fine with that. I mean, if Jon thought she was needed to fight the Night King, fine, but he banishes her instead. So, no justice, plus (in his mind) no help against the Night King. Why let her go?
I feel like most were blinded to the writing shortcomings because of how epic the season was. Like, holy crap! Jon is a Targaryen and Ned was faithful all along! Damn, what a battle that Battle of the Bastards was! So good to see Ramsey get his comeuppance! Dude, Cersei just took out all her rivals in one fell swoop! It's finally happening, Dany is coming to Westeros! Hodor, man, Hodor....
So, I generally forgive people for overlooking some of the poor writing. But it really did start before season 7.
I think you're ignoring that Sansa was right. She told him not to fall into a trap laid by someone she knew better than him. You Jon in the scene and even the boys laugh and call this obvious but Jon literally falls into his trap in the beginning of the battle. You misinterpret this as her saying Ramsey is annoying (???) when instead she predicts her brothers death and Jons lack of patience as a result, the one thing he himself said they needed during the battle in this very scene! She saved them by not telling him, if they had all gone in at once or joined mid battle like Ser Davos' archers and been surrounded or if Jon had used them poorly in his angry or desperation after Rickons death we'll never know but I think it's a logical albeit humanly flawed decision of her to make here

You absolutely need to watch this videos by the way. R+L+J
Its spoiler free dont worry.
please watch histories and lore!
genuinely should have been watching them along with the seasons they go with lol.
Also that scene with davos is just ugh..one of my favorites in the series
The histories and lore will spoil House of the Dragon
ah... the final good season
Yes all of the bluray seasons have a set of History and Lore videos you can watch that are related to that specific season and they’re narrated by characters of the show
BALD MOVE does a great breakdown podcast, and they do it from an angle that intentionally avoids spoilers. A great excuse to re-experience the show with an added layer for a fresh experience.
In the books when the Stark children are described, it is said that all the Stark children look like Tullys except Arya. It says Arya looks like Lyanna, and Jon and Arya look alike. Beautiful foreshadowing
No matter how many times I see the scene with Ned and Lyanna. I SOB.
I know Cersei is evil. I know people hate her. But she is one of the greatest villains in all fantasy. I love the Tyrell’s but watching her destroy the Sept was BADASS 😂 and Lena Heady plays her SOOOOO well.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong but iirc, dragons kept in captivity grow slower and are generally smaller than dragons allowed to roam free. That’s why Drogon is bigger than the other two at this point.
And the amount of SERPENTINE! memes that came from Rickon was a real moment.
S6 E9&10 are some of the most satisfying episodes in any series. The payoff!
R+L=J
Y'all should totally consider watching the behind-the-scenes stuff on the discs. So much interesting content by the creators, like how Kit Harrington actually stood in front of like 85 charging horses for that shot during Battle of the Bastards, or how Ramin Djawadi, the composer, had never used piano for the soundtrack so when we hear it at the start of the finale it triggers subconscious anxiety like "oh this is different and wrong". Brilliant stuff, think y'all would really enjoy it.
S6, ep 9 is my favorite episode
WATCH THE "HISTORY AND LORE" VIDEOS!! They were released between seasons by HBO and feature the voices of all the characters. It doesn't spoil anything but it will answer so many little questions you guys have. Many people do reaction vids for them. DOOOO IIIIITTT
It's funny the theory about Stark genes when in the books ALL STARK CHILDREN are redhaired with blue eyed like the Tullys lol Only Jon has the Stark features. The tullys genes are the real ones 😂😂
Someone talk to one of their mods or them and give them the youtube link to the Jon Snow son of Rhaegor video of all the clips adding and leading up to that moment of everything hinting toward it
I just realized, Yara and Daenerys both have dickless commanders
You might also remember that interesting scene when Littlefinger was in the crypt with Sansa, and he told her about the tournament where Rhaegar Targaryen passed over his wife and asked for Lyanna’s favor. The look he gave Sansa when she said that her aunt was raped was very telling.
One of the best jaw dropping moments of the series. Jon’s real name revealed.
Been waiting for you guys to watch these ones. Season one "Sansa don't have that dog in her" . You 2 should do West world next
I can’t believe of all the “That’s where that meme is from!” Moments you guys have had you didn’t react to the one of Tommen just falling foward. That’s one i have seen so many times and never knew what it was from, lol
Please watch the official histories and lore videos voiced acted by Game of Thrones actors. There are no spoilers. They make you understand rhe world and past better. I recommend the onr that talks about Robert’s Rebellion. It would be so cool to watch you react 🥺
Much like the professor and Wan Shi Tongs library I would never leave that library.
In regards to not letting the YouTube algorithm spoil things, the only thing I can think of is sign out of all accounts on there and view the recaps as a guest user. Even then, I have no idea whether that would stop it from tracing the IP address back to your normal account when you log back in.
13 Episodes left... look forward to seeing your reactions.
Loveee this lol don’t be looking up anything
Jamie does not have a Valyrian steel sword. He gave his to Brienne. Joffrey's was buried with him.
Watch the official lore narrated by the actors...its broken down season by saeason...no spoilers and its from the perspective of the actuall characters like Ned, Robert, Tywin and so on
THE KING IN THE NORTH
To watch Game of Thrones videos without it affecting your algorithm, you can just watch it in an incognito tab, not signed in to YouTube. At least that's always seemed to work for me.
Actually, pretending that Joffrey and Tommen are Robert's kids and not incest bastards, Cersei might be the legitimate next in line for the throne. Since Tommen is dead, he has no living siblings, and his father and his siblings and their families are all dead too, the throne would probably pass to the mother.
Mistborn fuck yea my guy wait till you get into the stormlight archives tlbest series ive read in my life peroid
Yay! Definitely top tier episodes! I wanted to say that in the novels one of the hints about Jon's parentage is that he and Arya look the most alike. Arya is said to look just like her aunt Lyana.
Got a lovely little set of ign 5 minute season recaps for the first seven seasons. Just don’t watch the last one or read the comments section. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLraFbwCoisJA4epSYgFQ3kNu0pfQyd5MA&si=xe6XSXASg1j-bf1p
I have to say, while season 7 and 8 was by opinion of the majority that I agree with, extremely disappointing, season 7 easily has some of the best scenes in the entire show and I cannot wait for ya'll to watch it
Totally agree and I was going to say the same thing! I agree with the criticisms of the show and the last few seasons but I can’t help but love season 7!
Both seasons are good when you are watching them for a first time and just enjoying the spectacle of the show. After sitting with the episodes for a bit and thinking about them, they become less good, and then trying to rewatch them makes them even worse
Agreed, season 7 was very enjoyable albeit with iffy writing here and there. 8 to me is unforgivably bad...just my opinion
ZIG ZAG RICKON ZIG ZAG!!!!!
I would love you guys to rank your favourite characters, tier list stream when?
Not a spoiler. But isn't it interesting how Targaryens have white hair and Johns wolf is white. Just some subtle nods I find fun
To all y'all season 6 haters; you be crazy!!!! Episode 10 remains one of if not THE best episode of television I've ever seen.
Robert’s Rebellion was in response to Rhaegar Targaryen kidnapping Lyanna Stark. Lyanna was found by Ned in the Tower of Joy where Rhaegar had taken her, which is in Dorne. Robert even mentioned that he’d hunt down every last Targaryen he could find as vengeance for Lyanna being taken from him, so Lyanna was right to assume he’d go after Jon had he known he was Rhaegar’s son.
Even if he didn't swear to kill them all for vengeance, they would've been a threat to his claim to the throne
Every time I saw Loras Tyrell I always thought about Iron Fist cause that was my introduction to the actor😂
So after so many episodes of making it look backwards of the way you look at each other you guys finally decided to just switch seats so it makes sense when we're seeing you guys talk and look at each other.
We made it! Baller episodes! omg soo good!
You guys have finally made it. Battle of the Bastards is a true gem. Brilliant in almost every way. Proof that the show isn’t actually “bad” until later, at least, than this
Having good scenes and episodes in these last few seasons doesn't make them not bad lol. This season isn't as bad as it gets, but it's not as good as it gets either. But that is a great episode
Alright so to list off who Dany has in her army: Unsullied, Dothraki, the Tyrell army, the Dornish, the Ironborn that are loyal to Theon and Yara, the dragons and the council of Varys, Tyrion and Missendei. She also might have the Second Sons but probably not because those are Daario’s men and he’ll probably be using them as his police force in the Bay of Dragons.
damn, the suicide squad is almost here
There is a very good video showing a compilation of scenes from season 1 to 5 of all the hints to who jon’s mom is. There is no spoilers for the next two seasons in the video but definitely something awesome to maybe react to! Just DO NOT look at the comments of that video! https://youtu.be/3xaspBsfgRg?si=r5xyfO6yVKK6DFCE
Dracarus “Fire Word” is from season 2
Hey guys -- now you know why they call it "King's Landing". ;)
Im pretty sure there's a 10 hour loop of John beating the shit out of Ramsay on Youtube lol. Also, all hail John Targaryen Stark!
Somebody get them the R+L=J video stat! you know the one!
The genes are strong are the Baratheon. That is why Ned knows Cersei's kids are not Robert's. All the Stark kids outside of Jon and Arya look like Cat's family the Tully's. The lighter hair and all that.
You guys gotta watch R+L=J
https://youtu.be/3xaspBsfgRg?si=8HZzP-foMg6wAj9G
It only has scenes in it that you have already watched, it just puts it all together.
Best Tuesday surprise I've gotten!
LETS GO!!! Be so excited for this!!!
Game Of Thrones and House Of The Dragon are goated. Great reaction guys! Looking forward to your for House Of The Dragon reactions.
Reply
You could almost say…. No one sent needle
Welp, hope they watch the R+L=J video. So satisfying to see all those moments in context.
You should watch GoT lore videos
The giant being so ineffective here is crazy. If they had given it any type of club weapon it would have battered that circle.
You can watch the history of westerost or something like that on youtube. It’s really good and it’s made by HBO and it’s animated. And just use a dummy burner account and just use incognito mode or whatever.
No spoilers, just a summary. Rhaegar Targaryen had 2 partners Elia & Lyanna. Elia was an arranged mariage with house Pycelle. this was the woman the mountain killed (along with her children). He was in a consentual/secret relationship with Lyanna Stark. He was alive after for several months after Elia's death during the war. Before her death but after becoming pregnancy was the battle of the Trident where Rhaegar is killed by Robert. Rhaegar was the general of the Targaryen army and with him dead, there was no competent replacement anylonger as most other houses either sided with Ned/Rober or stayed neutral. At that point the mad king when facing defeat planned to destroy the city, that's when Jaime killed him to avoid more death. You will get more details about the relationship in next season, but I'm just summarizing everything we saw so far.
I fear this might have a slight spoiler in it still 😬
I think Rhaegar was killed before Elia, since he died at the Trident before King's Landing had been sacked. She was killed by the mountain, who was there with Tywin when he told the Mad King he would help when Robert arrived, only to then sack it himself, and kill the remaining members of the royal family
Correction : Elia was not house Pycelle; she was a princess from Dorne. duhh
I assume Grigsy meant Martell. There was no house behind Pycelle, He was just grand Maester. It was Stefon Baratheon, Roberts father, who recommended the marriage.
Just want to point out this is not the first time that the boltons have betrayed the starks they have a long history of infighting in the north being such a powerful house that can rival the starks.
Y'all need to watch the video R+L=J:
https://youtu.be/3xaspBsfgRg?si=8HZzP-foMg6wAj9G
It shows all the little hints throughout the seasons about Jon's true parentage
Rickon is still alive in the books
Books are shit
Chilling with the unicorns on Skagos
ahhhhh finally, my favorite episode of the series!! I actually do have a recommendation for you to react to, it's a montage of all the clues of Jon being Lyanna's and Rhaegar's kid throghout the 6 seasons - it's called R+L=J on youtube.
Don't know if you guys also noticed, but the face Arya used to kill Frey was also the same face smiling at Jamie Lannister earlier in the episode. And Bronn thought the girl was smiling because she wanted to fuck Jamie, but it was Arya 😂😂😂
I never noticed that before omg
I have watched Game of Thrones five times at this point, I did not fucking notice that!
the last good episodes of the show. brace yourself for a pile of shit
So about season 7, thats the season people agree that the show just becomes a action fantasy show which is fine and the season is entertaining but it stops becoming what people loved about game of thrones in the first place
I agree rickon doesn't really mean anything to me.
Krillin: So then it's
Super Kami Guru: All downhill from here.
Krillin: Like Yamcha.
Super Kami Guru: I do not know what this Yamcha is but it sounds disappointing.
The best finale out of all the seasons in my opinion. Great reaction guys!
After GOT and HOTD, I think ya'll might like The Last Kingdom. Kinda like GOT, but vikings.
A show so good GRRM started promoting that over the last couple fo seasons of GOT
Such an underrated show! I think they'd love it
The shot with Jon being trampled and then finally getting above the crowd to breathe is a throwback to the "Mhysa" shot when Daenerys was lifted in the air by the slaves she freed. Just a cool little fun fact.
Btw if you like Grey Worm, you should watch Interview with the Vampire (TV series). His actor, Jacob Anderson, plays the main character Louis and his acting is impeccable
Yesss 1000 times this
100%
yall are goated. look into how the actual battle was filmed for episode 9, some of the greatest filmography ever
For the last 8 years, Light Of The Seven from episode 10 has been my afternoon alarm. When that episode and opening dropped so did my jaw. I ran it back and rewatched the whole thing before I even continued with the episode.
John defeating Ramsay is my favourite scene ever so I'm glad you guys liked it, also his death was so fricking satisfying. And I can't believe Boom called the wild fire and the Sparrow just from what Tyrion said to Danny, you are insane my guy.
I smile in foreshadowing 😈😈😈
THRONES TUESDAY?! ❤️❤️❤️ Also the Light of the Seven is a banger song!
Thrones Tuesday and Thursday?
"Stay in a child's place." -Lady Olenna
Battle of the Bastards may be the worst battle ever put to the screen especially from a series of books where strategy is such an important part of things, the Vale Knights made it through the Neck to get in the North and made the long March to Winterfell with zero people noticing (Especially the Warden of the North) Ramsey forgoes using the walls and strength of Winterfell just to go have a scrap in the field for some reason no-one has shields or helmets cavalry just run at each other blindly and Jon gets the strongest amount of plot armour man has ever known
Maybe in terms of strategy, I don't know. But filmography? The first time I watched it I literally had a panic attack because I couldn't breathe when I saw Jon getting trampled. It is one of the most well filmed a best representation of a battle I've ever seen. Also you can probably only have so much strategy since it completely depends on the other side as well. Ramsey not using the walls was definitely his pride, he didn't care about losses on his side, he wanted to show he could defeat them easily because of the numbers. The shields and helmets could have been because Jon has spent however long fighting with wildlings and was teaching others their technique, so may just be more comfortable fighting that way. Plot armour.... completely agree
If Ramsey didnt care about how many of his men he killed you'd think the other houses he was allied with would and not fight with him, its just silly plot contrivances
I mean the entire fight goes to show Ramsey's overconfidence and arrogance imo. This is his first battle without his dad leading and iirc he wanted to march on Stannis but Ruse said that was a dumb decision. Ramsey is sadistic af but he's also an idiot. Jon does get a lot of plot armor here tho can't deny that.
Even if we take it that Ramsey is just stupid enough to not use any defenses he has why would any of the houses pledged to him not immediately flee when he suggests doing such a bone headed move?
Because they outnumbered the Starks and damn near won, until the knights of the Vale showed up
yikes, haters gonna hate
Bad writing will do that
I totally forgot these two episodes were back to back
Ill say it 100 times over, This season feels good on a first watch, but thinking back on it and thinking hard on everything included, so much of it is wasted potential after awful plotlines that could have been greater, and I never know if I should put the blame on this season where the problem started, or on the later season where the problems are rearing their heads
To think we’re 16 episodes away from them completing the series. You guys really flew through this. Unpopular opinion but you should consider switching to single episode uploads for the home stretch.
Nah man I’m too impatient keep it at 2
Nooo I wan't House of the Dragon as soon as possible lmao... if they're gonna jump to that after GoT, that is
The entire television show is stupid dummy fire, especially when you don’t have a B*tch in your ear telling you otherwise
Season 6 is gas. The cracks are small but I truly feel like this was the peak of the series. Season 6 ends pure fire.
Tbh, as much as I hate S7 and S8 I do think S8E2 is my favorite episode of the whole series.
please watch house of the dragon after season 8 😭🙏🏽
the battle was really fun although it started to make less sense or rather characters became more stupid
like sansa, because she wasnt hones jon alsmost died and a large part of his army died
Which would be interesting if they actually explored that, like maybe it was calculated and she left her Vale Knights back so the Wildlings could be decimated taking away a potential threat to the North and she could seem like the more legitimate claim to Winterfell but no she was just dumb and said nothing
Didn't the actress say in an interview that even she had no idea why Sansa didn't tell Jon about the Vale? She had the perfect opportunity the night before when Jon asked how their army could get bigger and didn't take it. Knowing about them in advance could have changed the battle plan, but to be fair, the original plan was f****d when Jon made the decision to try and save Rickon. Even if he had tried to retreat after Rickon's death, at that point, he was well in range of their arrows and only managed to survive that volley by riding forwards. I'm not giving Sansa full credit for the battle as she withheld vital information, but I'm not giving her full blame by suggesting Jon would have won easily with the knowledge of the other army. Ultimately, they both got lucky.
:O 2 days early
i love you guys
