Can't wait for Boom specifically to watch HoD, the jokes will be amazing
for me season 6 is the last actually good season. Season 7 is still good, don't get me wrong, but it lost the charm the show managed to keep through seasons 1-6. The travel times don't add up anymore and the conversations start to feel a bit out of character, as do some actions. However, it is NOTHING compared to season 8. And it's not even the whole season, most people are just pissed about the latter half. They messed up the ending so bad and I'm convinced you won't like it. Just from people reacting on youtube, you will struggle to find someone who ACTUALLY liked the ended, by which I mean that they were hyped about it. There are people that are very angry about and then people that don't care that much, but there is sparsely anyone who will actively defend it because they loved it. It's not even the case of: half the fanbase got pissed because their favourite didn't end up like they imagined they would, so they hated on the ending on principle. No, it legitimately did probably the worst thing they could have done and it rightfully pissed people off.
Both Game of Thrones and Attack on Titan are based on Dune. Check out the movies!
Yeah, the only thing I've noticed about the writing so far that feels a bit out of place is the fact that Sam is willing to separate from Gilly after what happened in Mole Town.
i dont fully get the hate for season 6 there is so much good things and pay offs in season 6 however i tell most people just view the series ending at the end of 6 and just head cannon your own ending because it will be 10X better than what the show gives you. i do think 5 was kind of a lower point between 6 and 4 though even by this season finale there is bad writing as characters will go from essos, to dorn, then back to essos in 1 episode. unlike season 1 where it took multiple episodes for ned to get down the kings road. season 7 is more plagued with lazy writing but 7 will also give lots of pay offs with character arcs and themes you are looking forward too. while i was first gassed for 7 looking back you will probably see that the writing is lacking and season 8 is so bad even actors start to not care there is a shot where one of the actors starbuck cups was in frame for a scene. and yeah the season finale i think is the worst season finale of most shows. but like you said its not the destination its the journey and GOT is very much a journey before its god awful ending.
The whole sansa hate thing is Pearl from SU all over again 😂 people get so hateful as if they didn’t act the same way
So much happens these episodes are baller!!!
I love Brandon Sanderson but him finishing Game of Thrones is a hilarious idea. The author who has only had a handful of direct references to sex throughout his universe writing the world of Thrones is just not the match.
Brandon Sanderson finished Wheel of Time because Robert Jordan's wife decided he was the person who most fit the style and Sanderson himself writes the way he does largely because he was inspired by Wheel of Time.
Wheel of Time fans joke about Brandon Sanderson finishing every slightly delayed series because it's something we lived but going to George R.R. Martin and saying it as an actual suggestion is nuts.
The books are pretty chunky, even listening to the audio books. You know having watching the show that there are multiple characters and it's the same as the books, each chapter is written from the POV of a single character. And since the story takes place all around the world, the time and timeline of everything isn't an exact science. But yeah pretty much you can start reading the books. I am curious as to what you will like better in either medium
This season is so good, cant wait for the rest of the episodes
Tormund all about them big girls
They dont call him Giantsbane for nothin.
Who wants to guess the book character Sean was talking about was Lady Stoneheart?
My money is either that or Young Griff.
Or Strong Belwas
And on that day, Jonsa was born
Season 6,7,& 8 dank AF well you don’t have a bitch in your ear telling you it isnt.
season 6 and 7 are still good imo, but season 8 is just... god, they messed it up so bad. And that's coming from someone who actually liked the first half of it.
i get why s8 gets the hate though, it feels rushed, if they took time i think it would be better. but s6 is my fav forever
The show is downhill yet this season has one of the best episodes in television history coming up... ok!
oh yes, the Emmys are on their way Xd
We're at the point in the show that I wish I hadn't discovered y'all till later because I WANNA BINGE
fr tho, love y'all's reactions, excited for more :)
Y’all gotta watch the tower of joy fight scene on YouTube with light sabers and dual of fates. https://youtu.be/4CTJEZXtr94?si=p1XERgdz3Hhggney
Sansa was a spoiled princess, Ramsey is all evil incarnate in one body. No way Sansa deserved that lol. One is flaying bodies alive, other is just being an annoying kid which we almost all were to some extend when we were young.
When this first came out I noticed the "come and see" phrasing in the letter from Ramsay and how Littlefinger said "come and see" earlier in the episode and assumed littlefinger sent the letter to stir shit. Then I remembered a Bolton soldier delivered it and realized, no, just a coincidence
was it 100.000 soldiers or 100.000 dothraki, including the females children etc ?
alot people forgot that sansa was 13 at the start of the show ... wanting what sansa happend to her because a 13 year old was a bit shittalky and in love with a boy and mean to her sister ... is crazy
Peak!!!!, love Game Of Thrones and House Of Dragons
13:30 This is what it feels like in Chivalry 2 fighting off a group
There's something, in my opinion, so heartbreakingly beautiful about Sansa and Jon's reunion because we didn't even really see the two of them interact or have any relationship, but the fact that they're both just so grateful to see each other and know that they're not alone or without family anymore, that on top of Sansa's apologizing for her behavior towards him. Jon saying he doesn't want to separate from her is just such a lovely scene. Ned Stark would be proud.
Ser Arthur is, at least in my eyes, the greatest swordsman to ever live and is widely regarded so by the people of Westeros. He wielded Dawn, the ancestral sword of House Dayne. Forged from a fallen star, it was wielded by generation after generation of Daynes but only by those worthy of the title "Sword of the Morning". You can see Ned pick up Dawn in the scene, as a sign of respect, he returned Dawn to Starfall, the home of House Dayne, before travelling back North.
Ser Arthur Dayne slew The Smiling Knight in single combat, who was essentially that era's version of The Mountain. Arthur disarmed him but paused the fight to allow him to pick up a new sword, The Smiling Knight did so but remarked that Dawn was the sword he truly wanted. Arthur replied "Then you shall have it, ser." Arthur proceeded to defeat and kill him. Afterwards, he kinghted Ser Jaime Lannister, who had also breifly dueled with The Smiling Knight.
While in the show, there are only 2 members of the Kingsguard guarding the Tower of Joy, in the books, there are 3. Ser Arthur Dayne, Ser Oswell Whent and Ser Gerold Hightower. Eddard Stark and Howland Reed were the only 2 to walk away from the Tower of Joy alive, as such, they are regarded as legends. Eddard had the tower torn down afterwards and used the stones to build funeral cairns for the dead.
The fight with Ser Arthur Dayne is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series. So going all the way back to season 1 when Ned and Jaime fight in the street outside of little fingers brothel. Jaime was actually looking forward to fighting Ned because everyone “knew” he killed Ser Arthur Dayne who was also a kings guard the same time as Jaime and considered the best there is. If you ever go back and watch that season 1 fight again you can tell how disappointed Jaime was with Ned’s sword fighting skills.
I know a lot of people would disagree with me here, but I am curious if you guys would ever watch the Rings of Power series? I’m a LOTR stan and have my own opinions on that show but I have seen it out of curiosity and would love to see y’all’s thoughts on it! I know many people hate it 😂 but the actor for young Ned Stark is in Rings of Power and it made me think of it.
As a long time LotR fan, I like RoP
watching rings of power makes you literally like LOTR less ... i wouldnt suggest that show to my worst enemy
To clarify Sean's point about other series being made in the universe - the show that was gonna take place thousands of years before Game of Thrones I don't think got beyond initial development stages. Though rumors are its floating around at HBO for the right team. Tbh I've heard A LOT of different and conflicting rumors but I don't think everything has been confirmed yet.
House of the Dragon - About 150 years before Game of Thrones
The next show - "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" - takes place about 60 years before Game of Thrones
Yeah like someone else said they did film the pilot and it was scrapped. And they spent a lot of money on just that pilot so the fact that they canceled it must mean they weren’t confident right now.
From what I understand, because there have been stills, they did film the pilot for the one taking place 1,000 years ago in world, but it was scrapped.
they should have replaced the showrunners instead of just rushing to finish the show in season 8. it could have gone on for years and justified how it ended a lot better.
There is a lot of spectacle from here on out. It's fun. It's easy to get hype about it. I was very hype about it all. All the way to the end even. But when it ended, I was left feeling empty... unsatisfied. I'll go into more specifics once we get there. You may already understand the feeling when we do. I'm typically very easy to please. I'm not much of a critic. I virtually never hate on shows or movies. But this show is the exception. I do hope you have a good time though. I hope you aren't left with the same empty unsatisfied feeling.
This season's slaps
Just answering Sean's Question about Lyanna. She is where she is supposed to be it's the TOWER of JOY which is not in kings landing. But happens at the same time as the siege
Also, it was Obyrn's sister that died in King's Landing. Think he just confused the two characters
the hut scene at the end, is the only scene the actress Emilia Clarke chose not to use a body double. this was the only time she was even nude on screen. all nudity before this was a another girl, with Emilia's head CGI onto the body
I won't say who or when, but in the next couple of episodes, ya'll are gonna meet another one of my favorite characters who is up there with Lady Olenna.
Wait, because I think I know who, and definitely agree!
ive been watching these while having it synced up to Blind Wave's full length reactions and its great
react-ception lol Blind Wave is good too
I will also add to Sansa, she was also probably very influenced by her mother, Cat's opinion of Jon. Not that it's to be used as an excuse in any way of Jon's mistreatment, but I would blame Cat's behavior more than Sansa being a naive, slightly spoiled child. Cat was an adult; she knew what she was doing was wrong for blaming Jon for something his father did.
Can only watch an episode now and then finish after therapy. Knowing Jon Snow dies made me watch this series, back then I didn't know many shows that kill off mains.
