Okay it seems unlikely any of you will see this (particularly given how old this is), but if you want a short series that will hit you *at least* as hard as this does, the Netflix/BBC Watership Down four-episode miniseries will slaughter your emotions. I can't say I love the book, but I wanted to, and the series makes up for all the shortcomings of the novelette. The animation is technically a touch janky, but I ended up finding it endearing by the end and frankly it's one of the most impactful shows I've ever watched. That, and because of it I start tearing up every time I hear the song Fire on Fire, much like I tear up every time I hear I Really Want to Stay at Your House because of this show.
@Smashersweep
That was meant to be a hashtag. I have failed.
I watched Rebecca and Himeno from CSM both die within 2 days of each other. I was damaged.
In the Cyberpunk game you can find a memorial written by Lucy for the edge runner crew. You can also find David's Jacket and Rebecca's Shotgun.
Really suggest breaking bad since it showed up lol... best character writing in tv period
Honestly out of any studio trigger work I’d definitely recommend Gurren lagan from when they were gainax instead of kill la kill. Cyberpunk is one of my favourite shows ever made and so is gurren Lagan. Very different vibes but equally as important to me, anytime I’m completely down I rewatch that show to make me feel like I can keep going.
Kiwi is definitely one of the more discussed aspects of the series. There's clearly SOME sort of prior connection to Faraday. She's the one in the crew who not only was beat to shit by Cyber Pyscho Maine, but would've seen through Lucy's shit and saw that David was going down the same path as Maine. Whether it was personal attachment, desperation, or trying to cut her losses I don't think we have a clear answer. The only thing I can say for sure is that she had NO choice in meeting with Faraday. He was the only one who, not only could pay her, but could get her off the Arasaka hitlist for the shitshow of the failed heist. She made her choice and she knew she had to make the gamble because her odds otherwise were just as bad, at least Faraday would potentially hold more fondness for her than Arasaka mercs would.
I really want to stay at your house is one of the best and saddest songs in the entire game after the show came out
It has such a wonderful feeling of bittersweet and longing to it, and it makes me tear up like every time I hear it now.
No legends survive in Night City, this just proves it even more, but David isn't entirely forgotten. In the Afterlife he gets a drink named after him, he and the crew live on through Lucy and Falco.
If you do indeed play Cyberpunk 2077, regardless of if you stream it or not I have a small secret to share only thing I'll mention since it's a little hard to find, around the area Rebecca was killed, you can find her shotgun hidden away in some bushes. It only feels right to take it up and give her gun the satisfaction of wasting Adam Smasher, should you come to blows.
This series truly was a masterful show, and a brilliant insight into how truly no legends survive in Night City, only way to be remembered, is a blaze of glory. David's truly was 1 for the history books, even if the city and the corpo's that did him in won't remember him, we certainly will.
Loved the reaction man, seriously awesome!
That’s an awesome suggestion abt Rebecca’s shotgun I’ll have to use that in my current dlc play through. My first time around I used Johnny’s revolver, felt poetic as well
Honestly I say just swap between em and rain hell down on the psycho. Both deserve a bit of payback through their iconic weapons.
