This movie just came out recently and is absolutely hilarious! I think everyone in the group would like it. Nirvanna the Band started off as a web series that turned into a TV Show that turned into a movie. It's about 2 guys in a band trying to play a show at a club called the Rivoli, and their wacky attempts to try to do this. They also use a lot of real-life interactions with non-actors like Borat or Nathan For You, but they never make the random people the butt of the joke. The show is also fantastic.
One of the 2 guys is Matt Johnson, who also directed The Dirties, Operation Avalanche, and Blackberry. He's also set to make a Magic The Gathering movie soon too.
I felt like I should clear up a couple of things i didn't mention:
1: It's not actually about the band Nirvana with Kurt Cobain, part of the joke is that the characters are dumb and don't know there's already a band called Nirvana. It's spelled differently for legal reasons
2: You do not have to have watched the show to watch the movie. It gives you a very good idea of who these characters are and what their goals are. It's a very easy story to follow (For reasons that will become obvious when you watch it). You can just start with the movie, which a lot of people have done, and they loved it.
