I have a headcanon, when it comes to the four-note whistle made famous by these films, that the hand signal used in conjunction for it is purposefully similar to the notes as whistled on a music staff; -^-.
I don't know if that's the case for sure, of course, but I've always thought it was a pretty cool detail even if it was by accident.
