[Sticky] Question of the Week: What is the worst episode of an otherwise great show?

"Chapter Seven: The Lost Sister" is widely considered the worst episode of Stranger Things because it completely halts the momentum of the main story and separates Eleven from the beloved Hawkins ensemble right as the season's climax is heating up. Positioned right after a major cliffhanger in Hawkins, the abrupt shift to a standalone Chicago subplot felt jarring and frustrating for viewers.

The great divide from ATLA.

Does there even need an explanation why?

Is the question meant as objectively the worst, or one that we disliked in an otherwise great show? I'm a terrible judge of the first, apparently, but for the second case, I'll go with S2E3 of Hazbin, as that episode was just my favorite character stepping on easily visible rake after rake after rake.

the divide in the Avatar the last Air Bender. I know its probably THE most generic answer, but i to this day at 28 can still remember it being played daily and sometimes more then once in my house by my younger siblings that didn't mind the re-runs at there age. the otherwise simplistic and throw a way plot of that episode really made it stand out top me     

Kinda loose but every episode if steven universe that has Ronaldo just immediately makes me want to skip it. He urks me and annoys me with how childish he acts.

"The Desert" - Avatar the Last Airbender

I get and understand how Aang was so upset from losing Appa, but he spent the entire episode being an complete asshole to the rest of the gang and blamed Toph for losing him even when she had no choice if she was gonna save the gang. Not to mention it shows him to be a hypocrite later when he claimed 'All life is sacred'. If he was worried about the 'no killing' rule, he broke that ages ago. And no, I'm not talking about the North Pole. The avalanche at the Northern air temple, the insects in the desert. Hell... he pretty much doomed the sandbenders by destroying their only way of moving around the desert. Just because he doesn't see it, doesn't mean it didn't happened. It really exposes Aang isn't always the person he claims to be. Both him and Katara have the habit of snapping at people when they're upset without caring how they feel.

Katara's worst episode was definitely 'The Southern Raiders' that I called her Jet the entire episode, but it's not a bad episode cause she needed some kind of spiritual journey to get closure. 

But yeah, the desert is the my least favorite.

"The Feud!" from Voltron Legendary Defender.

Game of Thrones, Season 8, Episode 5: "The Bells."

There are plenty of bad decisions made in GOT, but this entire episode is nothing but bad writing decisions. The characters are shadowy farces of themselves; the only thing the episode shows is spectacle, and will bend character motivations to get to the shock of what happens. I had become more and more disappointed in the show as it went on but this was the episode that just made my not care anymore. Thankfully, there was only one episode left and I knew there was nothing that could be done to save it for me. 

I cant even bring myself to watch the reaction to it here, even though I know the guys' reactions would still be entertaining. 

"Roadside Attraction", Gravity Falls. Okay here's the thing, this episode's not even that bad, it's more so about the placement of it. It feels a lot like a season 1 plot, yet it's towards the end of season 2. Also, the whole Candy-Dipper thing wasn't really explored enough for me to feel as invested in it as the writers may have intended. Like I said, it's not a terrible episode, but for Gravity Falls, a show that otherwise has banger after banger episodes back to back, this one's probably the most lackluster. Still some funny bits though lol

"Profit and Lace" from Deep Space Nine. It's so bad that most of the internet seems to agree that it's not even close, and these are Star Trek fans we're talking about.

I feel like the one episode that messed up the whole show was when the killed off Derek in grey's anatomy cause from then on it kinda went off the rails I love greys anatomy but come on 

Probably a low hanging one but Unhappy Campers, Season 2 Episode 5 of Helluva boss. Having gone back through again it's not as bad as I remember but it's still pretty bad and deserves its status as the worst episode

"Last Forever" the series finale for How I Met Your Mother.

A great and hilarious show, that had funny, sad, bittersweet and lovely moments almost in equal parts.
The wrtiers made some multiple seasons storylines about finding the true love, or even better oneself and discover what love is- all that to throw it away in the last episode (actually it was a 2 episodes finale). 

Despite all this, it remains one of my favorite series—one I always find myself rewatching.

Any cartoon that randomly does a beach episode 

Star Trek Voyager. Threshold. Yeaaah.

The ENTIRE season 9 of Scrubs. I try to forget it even happened.
