Recommendation threads are slowly chugging along, but the general forums are looking a little dry. They spent so much money to get this done and it would be a shame if everyone just stuck to the Discord. I'm going to try and check in anytime I have a free moment, so if anyone wants to add some water to the well, here is a great spot to start.

Let me start this off by saying hi, my name is Roskuel, but everyone just calls me Ros (sounds like Ross). I came into watching Sorta Stupid because they reacted to Vox Machina. You see, after being a Critical Role fan (a Critter) for years and a DnD Player/DM for many years, I watched the first season, then I watched it again with a friend, then again with another friend, then I had to find any reactor I could that was watching it, so on, and so on. Finally I got to Sorta Stupid and despite their name, they were the MOST competent reactors I'd ever seen. For one, they did a little research and didn't call it Vox MaSHEENa for two full seasons. For two, I genuinely enjoyed their takes on a product they had NO connection to (CR or DnD).

From there, I continued watching their reactions on youtube . . . until I caught up on GoT. You see, much like VM, I was a die-hard GoT fan (I'm even mostly okay with the last 2 seasons) and I've seen the entire series 9 times (the ninth was with Sorta Stupid). I couldn't wait for the next episode. I knew they had a membership and I had to keep watching. I looked at the price for diamond, nearly shit my pants, then paid it anyway! Now I look forward to a new Full Length Reaction nearly every day of the week. This crew makes my week multiple times a week. I wouldn't pay this price (which is now cheaper because they are awesome and made a direct membership on the site itself) for any streaming service, but Bree, Ruff, Sean, and Eric are worth every damn penny.

They are funny. They are kind. They are grounded, open-minded, and stalwart in their care/defense of each other, their channel, their employees, and their fans (even if some of us are idiots . . . looking at you people who told them to watch Hawkeye BEFORE Daredevil . . . numbnuts). Point is, they are just all-around awesome.

Now that I'm done glazing the shit out of the crew, I'd like to pass it off to the rest of the community! What introduced you to these knuckleheads? What sparked your interest in continuing to watch? What is it about these absolute goobers that makes you go, "Yeah . . . I'm Billy."?

Hey Ros! (or would you prefer Billy?) :P

Love to see someone with a similar take as me.
I honestly don't remember how i got introduced too Sorta Stupid...
Well it was definitly through a Youtube video, but i can't for the life of me remember what show it was. I can tell you why i stayed though. They were fun, and more importantly they were relatable. im a 90s kid who grew up on video games, fantasy/Sci-fi books and MOVIES.

They are awesome. Watching Bree react to Gore is hillarious, and she has really insightful comments. Ruff and I have incredibly similar taste in games it seems, Sean is a joy to have on the couch, and its good to have someone who gets the "old people" references. Half the time he says something I go "i was just thinking that", some times iv already shouted it at the screen :P And Eric is just a Vibe :)

I can even forgive the fact that they watch anime in English... Sorta, okey not really. Hey no one is perfect! xD
Still I love the content, and it fits me. Other reactors iv stopped watching because only one outta 6 shows they covered were interesting to me.
But with Sorta Stupid 90% of their videos are ones i want to watch.

My name is Adrian, and i'm a Billy.

Hi Ros!

I'm Hazel. Let me see here. I think I started following Sorta Stupid around late winter/early spring of last year. At the time, I was looking for people reacting to Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. The usual channels I followed didn't react to it so I searched Youtube for "Hazbin Hotel reactions" and Sorta Stupid came up. I saw they also reacted to Helluva Boss, so I was up for checking them out. I found Ruff, Erik and Sean to be an extremely funny crew. Great humor, great insight and perspective, just all around awesome reactors.

I was inspired to dig a little deeper and look at their other videos. This is when I saw Miss Bree pop up in some videos and I really enjoyed her perspective. Some other members of the crew were coming and going at this point, but I enjoyed the reactions with Ruff, Sean, Erik and Bree the most. They all brought their own unique humor and insight to the reactions in a way that balanced out quite well.

Despite all these good qualities, I wasn't hooked yet. That was when I noticed that the crew (Ruff, Sean, Erik and Bree) went live on twitch and just announced that they'd be doing special Doctor Who livestreams on Wednesdays. That was it. That was my hook. I started talking in twitch chat, tuned in for sub-a-thons (one of which was the Jurassic park trilogy), joined for spooky movie night streams and started watching their individual twitch streams. I also started checking the channel more often for new uploads. Those long twitch streams don't happen anymore, but I'm ok with it because the channel has grown so much since then and I completely understand that they took up a lot of time and were often a tech nightmare. Channels evolve, old stuff goes, new stuff comes in.

I joined the discord and saw that the familiar names I'd seen in Twitch chat, VFXCannonfire and Minttiramisu, were joining the crew. Alexis and Audrey have been wonderful additions. Karma (off-site) is as well.

It wasn't until the crew starting watching The Boys that I became a silver tier member and later a gold member on the website. It's a series that I really enjoyed and just had to see the full reactions to. Around this time I also got up the courage to join the discord voice chat from time to time and was introduced to some neat members.

The channel has evolved so much since I first started following it. I am enjoying the membership content and am looking forward to future projects!

Hey, Ros!

I started with Sorta stupid when I was watching their ATLA reactions wayyyy back when! at the time they shared the same space as blind wave and Alex hefner on youtube as another reaction channel that i enjoyed. Slowly, I started to really gravitate towards their content! it got to the point that I went for the patreon sub, because i wanted to rewatch the things i had seen, uncut! Once i did that, I pretty much exclusively watched sorta stupid for a while and just recently i have had the fortunate opportunity to be back and be the true blue shiny Billy I was always meant to be! Joining the Site and also the discord have made me love the Sorta Stupid community so much more! Its amazing to see how far it has all come and all the effort that was clearly put into all of their projects!
