Sounds like one I need to see. I would suggest Your Name to you, but if you are already a fan of anime, it would be hard to believe you hadn't at least heard of it.

Summer Wars is top tier, but my go to recs for ppl, especially non anime fans, is always something Ghibli (except Grave of Fireflies, my local cinema is having a showing of it soon 💀 like...nah, I'm so okay with not ugly crying in a public theatre thanks). Outside of Ghibli, I'd probably go Drifting Home or A Letter To Momo
