Unlike a lot of people (from what I’ve seen), this finale is really great. I can see why people don’t like it, but overall to me it works really well with what the show had been setting up. Can’t wait for season 2!
Ngl I'm not exactly in love with this finale. I mean, the Simon resolution was fantastic. It's the fiona and cake resolution that I don't completely love. Pretty much from the moment everyone from the other dimensions came, I was like "okay. Are you kidding me? You've got to me." I kind of especially dislike farm world Finnish kid coming over and just being like "hey. Cool if we stay here?" I mean, we saw his dad die. He doesn't seem to care here
Though all of Simons traveling though dimensions and different multiverses, when he finally gets to see Golb Betty, she warps him to no different reality, but their future. Which Simon has no clue of course, and the story of Casper and Nova isn't a book written by an alternate Simon, but rather the young girl, Astrid wrote the story of the crown based of Simons epiphany and stories he comes up with after he comes back to Ooo with when he finally comes from his journey. All Simon needed was a lesson from himself in the future to understand where we went wrong in the past.
I would've never figured that out, but it makes a lot of sense, holy shit.
I really don’t understand the Lichs reasoning It seems like what he was trying to accomplish Golb would hate chaos is not killing everything because then it would be completely peaceful and silent, which isnt really something I think Golb wants being a being of chaos

After Simon gets his final conversation with Betty at the bus stop, he consistently refers to her as GOLBetty afterwards. Like Tiny Manticore once told Betty, "Maybe you're going after someone who doesn't exist anymore. Why not take [them] as [they are]? After all, you've been through a lot of changes yourself." He's accepted the new reality.

When I heard F&C was getting a season 2, I was so surprised because I thought the end wrapped everything up alright with only a couple of things here and there to speculate over. I personally hope we see Farmworld Finn again, and learn what was up with the masked bear Finn killed in the sacred forest.
Yessir a lil bit late but THE last 2 eps OF FIONNA AND CAKE LFG!!!!!!! I’m going to miss watching adventure time on Thursday tho I can not wait for s2 to drop and the movie/shows. It’s been an honor and a journey rewatching ADVT with all of u BILLYS!!!🫡😂
I love that the portal at the back of Simon's head when he's talking to golb looks like a halo.
Distant Lands was very much like a conclusion to multiple characters stories. Simon for some reason never got one, so in a way Fionna and Cake was also a story that concluded Simon's story as well. If this was the only season of Fionna and Cake we get, it would be a great show. I'm excited to see what's next for this world and this show. I'm also curious as to what is replacing this show now that is finished.

You know what the sad thing is? If Simon had been more mindful of Betty’s self-sacrificing tendencies, and he never found the crown as a result, it might just have been what caused the vampire apocalypse reality…
not entirely. that happened because in that world, Marceline never met simon because he died early on, not because Simon didn't have the crown. he had the crown in that world, seeing as the VK had it. most likely what would have happened is that simon and Marcy would have lived however long they could in the apocalypse, and then when simon died, Marcy would have carried on as the vampire hunter she turned out to be in F&J world after simon carded her off to Hudson. if anything changed, it would have been the outcome of Adventure Time, as Simon wouldn't have been the ice king and betty wouldn't have summoned gulb.
I think it's implied that the crown and it's magic is what kept him alive from the Mushroom War, especially with the line in his note to Marceline saying "This magic keeps me alive, but its making me crazy," so not having the crown would probably have him die from the bomb itself. Not taking into account him following Betty more could lead to him being in a drastically different part of the earth with researching.
Well tbh, we saw in stakes that quite a few people were surviving the apocalypse up until Marcy met with them. Sure she saved them from the vamps but the point stands that people were living for long enough for her to make it to adulthood.In the star people were still surviving 1000 years latter with Marcy (one of the most powerful creatures in the setting) hunting them down.
Sure they were almost extinct by then but that's after 1000 years.
I really do think that Simon not finding the crown could have led to something better for both him, Betty and marcy. Besides if the original timeline being the best was true, it would go against the series messaging about making better choices

Betty’s wish when she got the crown was to “keep Simon safe”, Simon would no longer be Simon if he put on the crown again, therefore golb stopped him from putting it on

Some points to note as a reminder. Beth and Shery live 1000 years after AT and they are the reincarnation of Finn as Shery and Jake as Beth. Golb lives in a weird space and can eat entire universes removing them that's what those rocks were .Also Golb is above Prismo and Scarab n power and ranking for Cosmic entities really the only person on par is their boss as far as we know and one person above that.
