The game you're looking for is Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005). There are space battles where each team has a battlecruiser with a hanger and fighter ships. You can fly out and fight in space, try and destroy the enemy battlecruiser from the outside. Or you can fly into the enemy cruiser, land, and sabotage it from the inside.
I love that game and its prequel. It’s funny because their stories aren’t canon but the voice actors were there from the original trilogy.
I’m seeing some other comments but really wanna emphasize. The OG Star Wars battlefront 2 for OG Xbox was ahead of its time. Space fights you can literally fly onto the enemy ship and sabotage their ship’s critical systems from within. In BF2 you can do a galactic conquest where you choose either to be the republic/separatists or empire/rebels and fly from planet to planet and compete for control of the galaxy.
Haha, I just made nearly the same exact comment before I saw yours.
bro decided it was too easy with the best lightsaber play in the franchise and reminded them hes basically goro lmao
krell is awful but damn if he doesnt make grevious four armed saberwork look like dogshit by comparison
God this arc was so good!! :)
I believe this was the first time we actually see a Clone cry. They are genetically created to fight in a galactic war and hardened with thousands of hours or combat training and many including Waxer has seen some of the worst after i believe two years of ACTUAL war.
And hes brought to tears because of what he did. Thats tells you all you need to know about the Carnage Krell brought. It made clones fucking cry. Everyone hates that motherfucker.
So the important thing to note about the Jedi in this era is that they ARE horrible at this job. That's the entire point. The Sith have not been seen for so long and they've sat peacekeeping without much genuine threat, and now here comes the Separatist igniting a galactic war, and this gigantic army of clone troopers, they were manipulated by Palpatine and the war itself into the role of generals which they very much are not. Palpatine quite literally orchestrated the Jedi compromising their codes via this war, and in the end masterminded the war that would end the Jedi order. Like the Jedi order today is very much are not what the order really is supposed to be, and that's the beauty of the writing in my opinion for the Clone Wars and the Jedi in the show. It's very frustrating alot of times yes, but looking at the story overall it makes it alot more fascinating to me.
Also the Jedi should explicitly not be fighting this war.thetre peace keepers and diplomats not soldiers and generals
Yep as I said. But I guess they stepped up to the roles out of necessity. Probably Palpatine as Chancellor tryna play the kind noble chancellor role bein all "Only the wise and noble Jedi order could be trusted to lead this grand army, why it was one of your own that requested this army (Sifo Dyas)" (iykyk)
I won’t repeat what everyone is saying as you now know who Waxer is once you read the comments.
But I tell you as a long term Star Wars fan, that scene where the Clones friendly fire on each other hits me every time!
- The dark intensity of the scene as the clones slowly start to realise that they are firing on their own men. I have seen audience reactions where they work it out just as late and their reactions.(At least these boys worked it out quick )
- The heartbreak and remorse in all the clones after said actions
- And the Death of poor Waxer, even though a deeper callback to Star Wars and clone wars fans still hurts to those who recognise him from the Ryloth episodes in season 1. Those War/service trumpets in the soundtrack during his last scene hit hard!!
Easily one of the most darkest moments in Star Wars as a whole.
And Clone Wars only gets better from here and I look forward to seeing your future reactions.
P.S. I am glad to hear that you guys are strongly thinking about or have made your mind up to do Rebels and am looking forward to seeing those reactions after clone wars.
Honestly, I think the Clone Wars' main characters are Ahsoka and Rex
Now you know the truth Krell was not really a Jedi anymore he was someone who'd bought fully into the "Anakin is right" mindset and was working to join the Sith.
If you wanna feel really sad about that scene where the clones kill eachother, the Clone named Waxer in the yellow armor that dies crying is one of Kenobi's men. And he was one of the two clones that saved that blue alien girl on Ryloth, the one that kept calling them "Nera" which means brother
the original Star Wars Battlefront 2 for the PS2 has the best land-to-space action. It was really ahead of its time.
That was my childhood game! It still holds up today really well too besides the campaign story
The next arc is one of if not the darkest in the entire show, you guys are not ready.
The Prequels are about the corruption of the Jedi, as orchestrated by Palpatine. Palpatine really is a genius, the way he lead an organization of peacekeeper monks to join a war that would inevitably force the Jedi to compromise their beliefs over and over and over again. Truly Qui-gon JInn, Ahsoka Tano, and one more you have not met yet (Dume, iykyk) are the best Jedi, not because they are the stongest, but because they best represent what the Jedi SHOULD be.
My old boss at work was just like Krell (even the attacking people part). He slapped me and after he was moved to another department, he got fired for smacking more people. He was a vile man. Good riddance!
You guys should play the 2005 Battlefront 2 ( original battlefront 2). It's got the type of space missions you were asking about were you can be in fighters then land on the enemy ship and fight inside as boarding party foot soldiers.
From here on out, there are only bangers for Season 4.
You guys actually nailed it. Palpatine is using the Clone Wars to vilify the Jedi in public perception.
There was never going to be a winner of the Clone Wars. It was only ever meant to pave the way for the Empire and the end of the Jedi Order.
Palpatine knew it wasn’t enough to kill them all; they would only become martyrs. He needed the galaxy at large to turn against them. So he pressed them into a role they were never meant to play, and incidents such as Krell began to erode public support of the Jedi.
Between that, and a galaxy-spanning war that threw everything into chaos, the general public willingly surrendered their freedoms for safety.
100 MEGATONS??!!?? How the fuck did I not catch that! They're fucking lobbing full-sized Tsar Bombas at them!
That was my reaction too lmao, there’s no way the person who wrote that line knew what 100 megatons meant. That’s TWO Tsar Bombas
You know what's even more messed up about this? If Krell was willing to turn traitor, than any Jedi could turn traitor. That means that in a messed up way, Order 66 can be justified. Because look at what Krell did. Now imagine every Jedi turning traitor and killing untold thousands of clones. This four armed bastard's actions can now be used as a valid example for why Order 66 is a thing. (It also makes the clones that march in on the temple have experience in fighting Jedi, since they fought Krell on Umbara)
Waxer is one of the two clones that helped the little Twilek girl in the first season. You could see on his helmet a little drawing of her on it the few times he has appeared since. You can slightly see it on the side of the helmet facing away from the camera while rex goes to take off the helmet for him.
To our left, their right side*
When you realize Krell"s set up was the 501st vs. 212th AKA Anakin's boys vs. Obiwan's boys for a bit of foreshadowing of Episode III
Please do remember that the war does affect the Jedi and is causing them to fall to the dark side. Also the force is being clouded with the dark side by Palpatine as well, it’s like they’re being poisoned from the inside and taking hits from the outside.
Waxer is the clone who helped the little green girl in season 1 and had her painted on his helmet
Her name is Numa and she is a Twi'lek
I just upgraded to Diamond for this! Can't think of a better way to spend my Birthday before Star Wars Nite later tonight!
Palpatine had 3 goals: 1. Have the war go as long as possible to make both sides suffer, allowing for him to ascend as emperor in the pursuit of peace. He continues to gain more and more power as he makes becoming the supreme leader as the only course for peace. 2. Have the Jedi be the focus and forefront of the war, so as the war continues and people continue to suffer, they will blame the Jedi, so that when they are killed off, they are seen as the republic killing off the ones prolonging their suffering. And 3. Put a wedge between Anakin and the Jedi Counsel. Anakin is seen as the chosen one, or at least an incredibly powerful force user who is led by his emotions, so Palapatine sees him as the perfect apprentice and weapon.
This is a simplified version, but roughly this is how Palpatine's plans are seen.
