I don't think you guys have watched Pride and Prejudice (2005) or if any of you are familiar with the story but there is a great Indian version called Bride and Prejudice that is a multi-cultural modern retelling of the Austen novel. Its fantastic and a good bridge from western films to more traditional Bollywood stuff!

I need to confess, I didn't watch this until you released this reaction, so I'm kind of watching along with you. (Again, I'm a baby and the violence and gore leave me watching through my fingers) but I think if I hadn't waited I wouldn't have realized how fucked up it is to suggest hanging him on the banks of the Yamuna river, which is like, a super sacred river. I'm kind of horrified by this suggestion even though I know it's the plan to release Bheem but like. How terrible would it have been if he was serious about it. (If I'd watched it when it came out it would have been before I went to India and got to walk a microcosm of a sacred pilgrimage that featured the Yamuna, and I went to an aarti ceremony for the Yamuna as well.)

Prior to this, my favorite Indian film was Ghajini, which is heavily inspired by Memento, which I also love. I haven't seen it in years, but I am going to have to track it down as I recall it being this brutal action/revenge movie with a quirky rom-com slipped into the middle of it. I think it was my first Bollywood movie and it blew my mind, much like RRR still did.

Oh, so the bow to the statue before he did the medicine to save Raju is complicated and I am not Indian nor an expert but ritual religion and healing are incredibly intertwined in India. I had a medicinal massage and before we even started the masseuse offered a chant prayer to the God of Healing. It's all very beautiful and meaningful.

Ill be real that climax was bad, the first half like yeah they were mild superheros but that forest fight lost all seriousness for spectacle and they turned into supermen throwing motorcycles and catching arrows outta people. I like the over the top action but that sequence took to past cool and into cheesiness

I disagree. They were already insane superhumans from the start. The third act had dropped the action for emotional beats, they needed one more insane fight to tie it all together. Like they said, its what tied the masterpiece together.

they were not pick up and smack someone after flipping a motorcycle with it strong, it took me out bad to the point i just stopped it and walked away. it was bad bad dude like comically less serious then it shouldve been for the story. nah that took rrr from a 9 to like a 7 for me

those motorcycles that they used back then were designed to be lightweight so it can be carried through rough terrain by the person ridding it. It's not like a modern motorcycle, so the way he swung it around is still in line with every other insane feat they showed

HOLY SHIT I just realized why the "Don't eat with your left hand" scene was so important during the Bromance Montage (after the train rescue). I thought it was that usual "eat with your right hand, wipe your butt with left hand after going to the restroom" but in actuality it was because Ram's little brother said exactly the same thing as Bheem when he ate in the flashback. Ram was reminded of his lil brother. Fuck me man, this movie is so good.

Hy guys just to give you guys some context the two main actors for tis film are pretty famous actors in india the actor NTR jr is a very famous actor that has been in movies for 2 decades and the other actor Ram Charren is also really famous been acting well over a decade and bot come form a family of actors whoes dads and grangd dads are really famous actors like NTR is named after is grandfather NTR who was a really famous star back in the day. As for Ram Charren he is the sone of one of the biggest movie star of the 80-2000s star named Chiranjeevi I really recomed you guys watching movies from all these guys. Also to note the movie you guys watched it was not its original language its original language was not Hindi it was Telugu. Also this is not a bollywood movie it is Taliwood, it is just that Bollywood it the bigger name so people just throw all indian movies under the bollywood tag. If you guys do more indian movies check to see what was the original language of the film so you guys can get a really authentic experience. We tend to dub a lot of our films into other languages so thought I should let you know. Also since you guys are interested in watching more of these movies you guys should watch some of these movie that people in the US also really liked as well as some classic Indian movies.
For Ram Charren: Chirutha (Telugu) Nayak (Telugu)
NTR: Brindavanam (Telugu) yamadonga (Telugu)
As for general movies you guys should watch: Major (Telugu), Salaar (Telugu) Bahubali 1 and 2 (Telugu) Vikram 2022 (Tamil) Stallion (Telugu) Kick (Telugu) Race Guram (Telugu) and Stalin (Telugu).
Hope this helps and home you guys enjoy watching more indian films.

The Indian films I'd suggest and most want to see are Kalki 2898 AD, Baahubali: The Beginning, and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Runner-ups would be the 5 "cop universe" movies starting with Singham, and Enthiran for the insanity and the memes.

This director actually has done other movies that are similar levels of epic. The Baahubali duology are personal favourites of mine though they are more medieval fantasy in terms of setting. They are an absolute blast to watch if a bit cheesier.
