You said near the end "not blaming Leo, but I feel alot of this could've been solved with a tactical retreat".Yes, but actually no. Leo was trying to get away, however with the foot chasing him around the city he couldn't go back to April's otherwise he's just leading the danger to his family.
He at that point didn't know that the foot already knew where they were staying.

First off it's great to have Boom back with more turtles. Second off this was a fantastic two parter to comeback too. Definitely my favorite episodes of season 1.
